Building Data Analytics Team
Recently, I did a presentation at a conference, and the topic was non-technical, unlike many other presentations that I do. I thought it would be helpful for you all to know about it, as I spent some time and gathered some information about it combined with the experiences I had with some of my customers. This article and video are split into two: this one will be about things needed to make a successful data analytics team, and the other one will be about the roles needed within the team.

There are a lot of similar terminologies and words when working with Fabric. We have Data Lake, Delta Lake, OneLake, and Lakehouse, and the list continues. I found it confusing for some to understand the differences between them. Although explaining these terms and their differences requires many different blog articles, having one place for a quick definition for each can be helpful. Hence, th...

Thanks for this tutorial! I can't see the link to the blog in the description, could you please put it it in there as I'd like to have a go using the code.
I have one question , why does dax queries in query view or in dax studio do not preserve measure format strings?
This is almost exactly what I wanted but it's easy enough to change the DAX to give me what I want. Thank You.
Glad it helped
This is great information. Thanks for sharing!!
Glad it was helpful!
we need to manually add the user under the members list of dataset. do we really require because we implemented dynamic RLS?
This helped me so much, thank you for sharing!
You're so welcome!
Nice video! Did you ever publish the other video covering the scheduled process to refresh this on a regular cadence (e.g. weekly)?
Thank you

Hi Reza, thanks for this content. I'm wondering how dataflows can be used with models that employ row-level security. Is this possible? Cheers.
I stumbled upon this video while trying to query a lakehouse table for time travel. However, when I ran the same code, I encountered an error: "A non-versionable data source was specified in the time travel query."
2024. Menu is different. Same function elsewhere hidden. Applying the sort function, no change.
it is so basic but so helpful thank u so much
Can I install it on an Azure VM IaaS?
Thanks a lot! We don't have Fabric yet so I can't use practice to get to know these but I have to have at least some kind of idea what these things are in order to speed-up the process of getting access to them.
So the dynamic report that is sent is not the Power BI report, but a PDF snapshot of the report filtered?
nice video you really saved my life no joke
Dear All, It is said that while using Filters on 'Order date' with 'between' you need to use "is after or equal to" And "is before", to avoid duplicates, is it right or wrong? please suggest. Thanks in advance!! ❤
Hi. yes. Better to remove equal from on end (either from or to), so that it won't double count it.
@@RADACAD thanks a lot!!
thanks, very clear and to the point..
Glad you liked it
Excellent video. Answered all of my questions

how do I make it Oficio paper size?

Is there a way to synchronize the drilldown option between multiple visualizations?
What if a dataset has multiple upstream dataflow?
Many thanks great video 👍👍👍

I gave up keeping up with names & definitions and switched to Google. Thanks.
This was great stuff. I was having difficulty keeping straight all of the similarly-worded concepts in the DP-600 course material. This helps me to review that material efficiently.
Thanks. Glad it is helpful.
Can I apply this your SCD2 method when working with incremental loading?
Yes you can
Your method works quite well, but I'm wondering if you might know why it's not allowing negative start and end values. The data properly slots into the appropriate bands for positive values, but it seems to ignore ranges below 0. So, for example a start of -2.0 and an end of -1.0 with increments of 0.1 for the generate series. I can't seem to figure out what might be happening. I have double checked data types to be set to decimal. Any thoughts on this would be helpful.
Hello, I have a question regarding paginated reports in Power BI. I have an embedded paginated report that calls another drill-through paginated report. When I click the back button from the drill-through report, the main paginated report resets all filter selections to their default values. Is there a way to retain the selected filter values in the main paginated report when navigating back from the drill-through report? Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you, Reza. Very helpful. You mentioned that you were going to put some links to other videos, but I don't see them.
All the links are from the blog article that is in the description
Would be nice to see SCD2 low-code support by Fabric Data Factory and Data Flow Gen2. Just imagine this SCD2 supported with simple configurations...

Thanks for watching!

Thanks. Glad to help :)

Thank you very much, Reza. This is very helpful.
You're very welcome
I guess you missed one information or I missed that in your video: For Power BI Embedded, only P SKUs and F SKUs equivalent to a F64 SKU or higher, allow free Power BI users to consume Power BI apps and shared content in Power BI service. Smaller SKUs require a Pro license to consume Power BI content. For A SKU every viewer still needs Pro License
Hi Reza, how to implement this in fabric?
that will be the next video. stay tuned
@RADACAD I'll see you in Perth
@@dekta4 Looking forward to seeing you

This is such a timely video, I am going through something similar with an Ethics Management System and I have SCD using SK in my PowerBI model. Great work!!
Glad it helps :) Thanks
Killer tip! Problem with me is, if I change the slicers to show different business groups the RANKX keeps the rank number as if all items are selected. For example Johnny is the #10 overall salesperson, but #1 in Canada. When I apply a filter to show only Canadian salespeople Johnny is at the top but his rank still shows as 10. Any way to fix this?
Replacing ALL with ALLSELECTED works
Yes, I have another video about ALL vs ALLSelected too. depending on the requirement you may use one or the other
When I copy and paste image address, I get an error message : "No css selector was found" - How can we avoid this ? thanks
thanks for simplifying this!
Glad it was helpful!
This video gave me a detailed flow of how live data can be captured, stored, reported, published and refreshed in real time
