Mr. Spacebo, this is a great verse. Don't pay attention to Ortiz, he's a mindless antagonist. I've seen his bogus comments in other threads and they are all of the same nature. Of course, seems like you already knew better than to respond to his silly baseless attempt at accusation.
But my purpose in responding is to take this verse even deeper. "No one comes to the father except through me." This means we cannot know who we truly are except through the revelation of Christ. If we hold any ideas of ourselves being anyone then we are wrong and it restrains us from coming into the knowledge of God's truth (Gal. 6:3.)
But yet, God already knew us to be who we are within Himself from before the foundations of the world (Eph. 1:4, 2:10; Rom. 8:29; Heb. 4:3.) So, to come into the knowledge of the Father means to understand who we already were and always have been in Him even from before entering into the world. The knowledge of God supersedes our sin because He already knew us to be who we are within Himself before any of it occurred. This is the knowledge that we ourselves need to come into the possession of and only through genuine faith in the Lord Jesus Christ can it be revealed to us.
John spoke of this in his 3rd epistle when he wrote, "I write to you fathers because you have known him who is from the beginning."

If that’s true how do Jews get saved? Show me the verse that says Jews are exempt from accepting Christ and they have a different path. So if the Jews are saved another way then there is another way besides through Christ. Either there is another way or not, period.
@@hugostiglitz8855 if your sin makes you who you are then God doesn't know you or you think you're somebody else that you're not. Who you are according to the flesh is irrelevant. "Flesh and blood does not inherit the kingdom of heaven." The true people of God have been circumcised in their hearts.

Yes❣️He's been my FAVORITE Bible Preacher for 40+ years (since the days when I could only hear him on radio 8 a.m., 8 p.m.. I took notes on his radio sermons (got books of 'em : ) and sometimes I'd hear the same sermon twice (morning & evening) if I missed something. All these decades later, he's only gotten better at what he does. He knows the original Biblical languages, and helps us understand God's awesome Word. [I received a free copy of his study Bible - the notes are very helpful.]
@@LionsOfHope Yes! I have grown tremendously from his preaching and am amazed at the library of sermons (over 3500) on my phone through their apps at Grace To You. I agree he is only getting better. He is so knowledgeable but clear, straight forward and easy to understand. I also use his study bible and it makes the scriptures much easier to understand.

@David Ortiz The passover isn't a sin offering, the day of atonement is. And you must offer your life on your own cross for your own sins thru obedienceto Yhwhs word. As Jesus taught. I know exactly what redemption is and human sacrifice is forbidden by Yhwh as is the worship of a man as God Almighty. Try reading Isaiah 40 to 48 carefully. The 1st commandment never changed, hopefully you repent of your idolatry and return to your first love, YHWH your creator and ONLY SAVIOR. He didnt lie to his people for 4k years nor does he ever change. The church has been deceived by a strong delusion for 1700 years just like Jesus warned. No one died for YOUR SINS. If so, repentance wouldn't be necessary for anyone.
The love of Gods Word is what makes John Macarthur a special teacher preacher.
He is a great expositor but very inconsistent with some of his views: like premillenialism.

@@zaceishen7974 they do not realize that they judge inadvertently according to the doctrines they preach. Who are they to say they are saved and others are cast aways? Do they realize that perfectly ties into a pride issue? No wonder he doesn’t see the importance of the blood of Christ. He thinks that his works will determine his value. He thinks that he can do it without God. The only value anyone has is through the blood of Christ so that no one may boast. The will of our Father is that the world may be saved through the shed blood and finished work of Christ- not some elected people will be saved and the rest go to hell. If you were predestined, then there is no need for repentance. He’s calling Jesus a liar with his doctrines of elect. Heresy… We would be nothing but robots if we were predestined, and Christ would be a mistake if there is no sin to atone for since predestination overrides the judgement of Christ. Didn’t the Father give that power to His Son? MacArthur’s sermons and interpretations of the scripture are ripe with spoil. Learning to live by the Spirit vs the letter of The Law is what he doesn’t understand bc he’s too busy pointing fingers and passing judgment on others, just like the Pharisees and Sadducees.

You make it sound as if we like the idea of Hell, out of all the doctrines in the Bible, the hardest to swallow is Hell, but that doesn't mean we will deny it (well some do).
Hell is also a place where a person will be in their ultimate depraved state, and will continually sin against God, so in that way you also will keep needing to be punished. You may need to look into "Total Depravity" to understand what I'm talking about.
By what standard are you judging God? Your own arbitrary standard? Things like unjust, immoral, these things don't make sense in a world without absolute moral standards, and in a world without God (Moral Giver), morals then all become relative, unjust and immoral don't really mean anything.
Also as side note, most people wouldn't want to go to Heaven, seeing as Heaven is all about God. If someone doesn't want God while here on earth, what makes someone think they'll want Him when they die? You see everyone wants to go to Heaven, they just don't want God to be there when they get there.

Thankfully we came out of mormonism in the last 2 years, after being in this false religion for several years, and back into true Christianity that we grew up with in our youth. I read the full review and recommendations on masters seminary. You know they have made changes to comply? Most of the issues are not presented with details or counter facts. It would be unwise to make damning judgements from the word of one side. That would be unbiblical. I have been through enough life to know that most of those criticisms could easily be honest mistakes and the bullying and fear can easily be misunderstandings, miscommunication and rebellion. @@matthewklassen806 The Gospel to me is the Words of Matthew Mark Luke and John . Then we have the Word of God in the Gospels which has to be kept in a lot of reverence. At the start of the Mass we often see the entrance procession being lead by someone carrying the "Book of Gospels" which contains the readings from the bible including the Gospels. The symbolism is that we are being lead by the Word of God. ALL the sacraments are in response to this ... The Eucharist is based on John 6 Where Jesus says 3 times you must eat my body and drink my blood AND 14 other biblical passages that support the Holy Eucharist.
@@1234poppycat OK. I understand. You do know McArthur preaches the whole gospel, since he has preached through the whole Bible. But it will be the Roman catholic traditions and teaching that causes this division. We will not see eye to eye on this and neither of us will change our minds. I've listened to way too much James White great debate videos. So let's just pray for each other to see the truth.

My nephew and his wife are practicing conservative Jews and during a recent conversation I had with them I said "we are all sinners." They both looked at me as if I was speaking Mandarin Chinese. I think they believe that since they are "God's chosen people" they are not actually sinners!

Well I think that would be a shame if it were true. Anyone can change their name to "Jesus" or name their newborn child "Jesus " Plus I think there are at least a thousand different names and/or titles referring to the same man other than Jesus. Such as Immanuel or Yeshua or Joshua.... Why can't everyone go to Heaven without having to go through Jesus....? Why can't we all go to heaven as all of God's children? Why would God be so cruel ? What about children whom never got the chance to learn the "gospels" or the name Jesus Christ ??
