You can't have a relationship with God until you are put in right standing with God. You were not in right standing owing a debt of sin. What is sin. Sin is the transgression of the law (1John 3:4). Religion is man made and usually is works-based, like climbing a ladder attempting to reach God by good works. Biblical Christianity is the opposite: it's God reaching down to lost man because man cannot earn his way to God. Religion makes sense to the natural man and allows man to keep his pride. The more religious a person is the harder they will be to save. I was converted in 1985, by a television pastor named Dr. Eugene Scott, who told me that faith would please Massiah. You can't have a relationship with God until you are put in right standing with God. You were not in right standing owing a debt of sin. What is sin. Sin is the transgression of the law (1John 3:4). The reason why jesus came was to pay what you owed under the law.
And what he did was part of that law. Then, through those commands and laws being met, (not by you but him), you were put in right standing to now have fellowship with God.
All rules and conditions in God's religion which is what a religion is.. A set of laws from God for us to live as he wants us too so, he can dwell with us. There's no relationship without religion. Now do you think you can live as you please after all that?

In the USSR it was forbidden to listen to a broadcast from the US, but we still secretly listened to the broadcasts. It was very difficult times for believers in God to survive in USSR. Billy Graham was a 33rd degree Freemason and their ritual was to sell their soul to the devil and conjure demons to possess them. Billy was a demon/human hybrid, so he was exempt of most of the ceremony, before getting the degree. His nine-foot-tall bronze statue was raised, by the Freemasons, in Kentucky, and stands to this day. The occult Freemasons are Jesuit owned and that's why Billy visited the Vatican so often. He was charged with infesting Protestant churches with Jesuit boys, who would report to a local Catholic church all the personal information gotten about the parishioners. As they grew, they would be groomed to eventually assume leadership of each church. If you have received Jesus into your life truly, you would no that the flesh that Jesus was in was not as much of an importance as the spirit that was in it.
