I want some free stickers for my bike! Lol😉
Instablaster.
Big thank you to you and your wife both. This is exact what I was looking for within regards to the Outlander XMR 1000. More importantly how she would feel handling it, but also on the clutch as well. Excellent job to both of you on explaining everything
You're very welcome!
Look up ROX Riser for your handle bars. It brings it up and back towards you a little and it feels much better riding.
Already using a riser! Was my first mod :)
I just picked up a 2019 XMR 650 last week and your videos for sure were a great influence into my decision to stick with Can Am and going for the XMR. For me with the short body I enjoy it much more, meanwhile my boyfriend has a 1000 Max XT, just a stock outlander and the only benefit is loving the extended body for the 2-up seat! Absolutely love that you guys are “local” youtubers, only a couple hours away and definitely hope to see you down in Johnstown this year!
Wow, very cool lady! Glad you folks are enjoying the outlanders! Yepp, just a couple of small town hosers! Happy trails!
As usual another great video. I always enjoy watching the 2 of you. Keep up the good work. Oh and I ride a 2014 Outlander 800R XT and I found out the hard way that the tie rods are the weak link. One of them snapped while trail riding by myself my 1st time out last spring and ended up rolling the machine and the broken tie rod some how ended up puncturing my Radiator but luckily I was only about 3 miles away from my truck and was able to limp it back.
Crazy! You never know eh? Thanks Scott!
Great video, I enjoyed you guys laying out your choices. So thoughtfully. Clutching is definitely something that is overlooked, I agree with you. It makes a huge difference and now the machine rides. It really is a game-changer with how much it uses the power you are machine already has.
Awesome, glad you liked it. Let us know if you have any requests for other videos.
Love the video!👍 I'm looking to do some clutch work to my 2019 Outlander 1000 XMR myself. Did Dirtylife send out the primary ready to go in or did you still have to tune on that QSC. Also do you know if there's a difference in the 2018 to 2019 trailing arms. I want to order the HL arms but they don't have the 2019 listed. Crazy part is they have it for yours and the 2020...🤷
I got a 2018 canam outlander max xt 1000cc and I loved how you explain the tires it was very helpful with the size and the width
Thank you, great show and very informative. My 2010, low Klm Renegade will be sporting a new clutch just after Christmas. You folks are great!
I watched both videos so I could see both, but of course in reverse order. I have been back and forth on both machines myself. This was nice to see how you guys feel about both of them.
I really like how you post about the 2018 model, I haven't been able to find anyone else to give a good review/ helpful content for it. I bought mine about 2 months ago and I've really been looking for other feedback
Everyones about the latest and greatest. I cant blame them, but I am glad this was helpful for you!
Love watching your videos. You both seem very down to earth and seems like all of us know you and are very personable. Many other videos I’ve watched have been produced by big sponsors and feel like you’re watching an infomercial. Keep up the great work!
Ah, for now we just do what we want for fun :) thanks!
Great video!! I got a popo and I think you may be right. That can-am belt looks a lot easier to change then my backward, upside down one lol. Have a great day and keep safe out there man.
The Can Am belt is one of the easiest as far as ATV's go! Thanks for watching!
Kyle you mentored me into a 2019 Outlander xt-p, I like it so much my second atv is a 2020 xt-p max, with my defender xmr 30” cryptics...love it thank you 😊 I have a woods bike and a mud cruiser. Excellent video thank you.
Glad you love your choices dude!
Marauder Mitchelli that’s funny when I was reading this I thought that’s what that Marauder has lol. I watch your videos as religiously as I watch these. My trails are a lot like yours so xmr for me would be over kill. So I’m looking into xtp max right now. I seen your new tire choice for mud and even commented on your size. Anyways happy riding to all y’all
@@SuperSYMPATHIZER I appreciate the compliment...my channel is far smaller. As you know i had a Polaris sportsman xp 1000 premium and a limited model. When I wanted to jump to Can Am i was so worried about the visco lock front diff, Kyle held my hand and eventually i made the leap. For trail riding i have no issues with the clutch, nor do i wish to change the muffler. Kyle's review video was excellent just like his others. I wish i had his mechanic skills, he's an excellent teacher. Thank you for your compliment. Stay Healthy!

Absolutely agree on reliability and ease of access, i've got mudpro, highlifter and rene xmr, and repairing and maintaining can-am is just fantastic!
at this point i welcome any breakdowns because it's fun to work on this machine and also that's an upgrade waiting for happen, so much aftermarket stuff for this thing!
Very true! I love having choices in aftermarket or even oem really. Thanks for watching!
I like how you do a best, worst on your machine. It's very informative and can help make a decision if a person was in the market. Keep up the great work. Thank you. Liked, subscribed and shared. 🙂
Thank you very much! Sharing really helps us out!
Which parts aren't snorkeled all the way up? What's the fix? I have the same quad and definitely go in water
On my Commander 800xt my first up grade was a set of tires the stock 27"s just won't do anything in mud and then came a 2" spring pucks to help clear the tires and when that didn't help me climb over logs and through mud holes I went with a 4" CATVOS lift and a CV Tech clutch to add to the mix and now I've even thrown in some super heavy 32" Black Mambas
Hey Folks, I have a Can Am Outlander and I have NO regrets about it's purchase. It may not be built for fast tracking but that's not my game.......anymore. I live on the west coast of Florida (USA) but spend quite a bit of time running the country roads and mountains of North Carolina. My dog thrives on running along beside me. I enjoy your show and all you have to offer. Keep up the good life !
Hello I have look at many videos i appreciate the info .. I have been a polaris rider for many years now am looking to get a can am xmr 1000 when they come out again on 2021 but there is a lot of positive and negative on them you think it will be a good machine ...
Love your videos phone digs every time you post one keep em comin
That's awesome! Thanks for watching.
I have a max too and surprinsingly, I like to keep the passenger seat even if I'm alone to rest on it when we stop and the passenger footstep are really useful in deep mud/water or to maneuver the bike around corners.
Love your videos! I have the 2019 Renegade 1000r xmr with 32" Assassinators on it and I totally understand about the ride comfort being I'm in the mountains of Pennsylvania. I might give the Elka shocks a go around to see if that help. Keep the videos coming. Cheers bud!
You will love Elkas! The team over there does a fantastic job tuning them!
Nice video. I'm a XMR-850 owner. I couldn't agree more with your 5 and 5 except... I liked the suspension and I have just the Fox Podium. (stock) and once I got them adjusted, I was very happy, but like you said "to each his own". I'm with you on the clutching is #1. I jumped to the QSC primary and the STM secondary, Holy S***T. Again nice Video. "Ride Hard and Be Safe" Minnesota Bill
Thanks for watching, fellah! Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, clutching is priority!

Is 2000 miles alot for xmr 1000. I was looking at a used one and its got 2100 miles on it. What your thoughts
You kodiak vids have been wicked helpful thank you
Kodiak video coming out in a few days my dude! All sorts of stuff in mind while this quarantine is going on!
I love that both of you are down to earth.
Thanks fellah!
Thanks for the information I really love how you guys know your stuff
Good video ! I just picked up 13 outlander 1000xt . Guess you answered a few of my questions. Ride and clutch . I figure for me a cvtech and over time Elka 3 like you have . Then just have to figure out exhaust / tune and save for those headlights lol. Thanks for the answers
hi great info were do i get the foot wells
Love the video. Do you have trouble with bolts backing out due to the vibration?
Nope. Not once.
Great video. I agree in doing the clutch first, I did exhaust and tuning first and it definitely made more power but when I did the primary, it was a completely different animal and allowed me to use the power of the XMR a lot better.
Glad to hear you like the Elkas, my stage 3's are in the garage waiting to be installed.
I also do a lot of trail riding and rocky terrain in the Rocky Mountains and that is why I went with Sludge hammers they are not the ultimate mud tire but are more than capable and haven't found anything I can't get through yet, and the ride on hard packed is so much better. I am looking to get another set of tires for Mountain rides where mud is minimal but lots of rocky terrain. Looking at the MotoMTC, Motoclaw, Super ATV Warrior and GBC Grim Reaper.
I did find my Polaris a bit more reliable but my XMR is definitely easier to work on as everything is placed a bit better.
Yes sir! Youll love the elkas! Some great tires choices you have in mind! Thanks for watching!
Good video as usual guys, just one comment, the single best and most important mod to any powersports equipment is: Learn. To. Ride/Operate it! 😉😀👹
Yes sir!
I have the '14 XMR 1000 with the air suspension. It's great to a point, but will bottom out. Love the ability to raise it for situations though.
Regarding the steering issue with control. I think that has a lot to do with tires. Like the Assassinators tread would just grab and pull you from either side. I also noticed coming from a Polaris is the 4wd difference. I had a discussion with ElementalATV about this. Stock the Can-am can unexpectedly jerk you but the Polaris when in AWD is seamless. I never had to anticipate ruts pulling me. I'm assuming the device that replaces the visco lock fixes that but I've never tried it.
Love the plastics look but for washing it's frickin terrible and taking them off to do the maintenance. Luckily there is a good amount of KM per oil changes.
Love the popularity because there are so many options in the aftermarket.
Great point about the power. If our tires are spinning (like mine) it isn't grabbing and feels slow off the line.
Does the '18 have that new throttle? If so, did you try the previous gen and compare? I have a feeling you had a video on this as I'm typing this by the way.
Thanks for the video.
Great video! So I have a 22' Outlander 650 XT and my first thought of what to mod would be suspension. Coming from the street bike world, that was one of the best mods, equal to that of a full exhaust system, you could do as it gives you a lot more flexibility to tune the bike for "You". Meaning your weight, height and style of riding(cruising or racing). Not sure if the ATV scene is the same but it seems it is a little different by what you recommend. Of course I fully understand these are just your opinion but it's interesting to hear and get that insight none the less.
i like all your videos keep up the great work
Thanks!
I enjoy your videos and I have a 2017 outlander xmr 1000r love it and love your videos
When you say tune the qsc clutch are they not just a bolt on piece and already tuned for the model?? Been running stock clutch for 3 years now wouldn’t mind making that upgrade to mine.
They are tuned by order. So they can accommodate your specific machine. They can be adjusted quite easily afterwards also
Ya I have same machine as you only a year older. So I’m assuming the only adjustment that might have to be made is where the belt sits in the clutch?
Very nice video greetings from Germany and Happy Easter
Good job on Cassandra's braids Kyle. When are you guys going to need the baby seat mod? I already have a place on my bike picked out for sticker. Thanks for the vids.
No one wants to see me braid hair, these hands were made for hammers lol. No mini plaid babies in work, we are still practicing!
Ur videos are so informative u guys are awesome
Great video, looking at getting a outlander 850 xmr this summer. Can you please make a video on how you make them look so clean after a mud ride lol.
We've actually done a video in the past but lots has changed since then lol. As soon as we can get them dirty again we'll try to make another video for ya, how's that? - Cass
Mainville ATV and Outdoors sounds good lol
Thanks for the request!
Changing tires to a soft trail tire will help the ride comfort a lot. The stock fox shocks, even though they look like they got lots of adjustment, really don’t have any in the softening department.
Right, thats why I also have the Motoclaw trail tires. You're very right!
Just had to check out your channel when I saw the video suggested... Definitely looking forward to this review.
Giveaway for stickers is probably done.. But.
I like: Your beard dude, Can't wait till mine looks that good.
Dislike: I don't have one of those ATV's haha! Can't wait to own a ATV.
Just picked up a 2020 Renegade XMR, love it but haven’t gotten a chance to really test it out with everything going on, but it is an amazing bike!
What are the stock items on your 2018 xmr 1000r?
What do you mean exactly? Whats still stock? If so, the frame/engine and secondary are still stock lol
How do you get your bike so clean after getting her all muddy
We've actually done a video in the past on how we do it but lots has changed since then lol. As soon as we can get them dirty again we'll try to make another video on the topic, how's that? - Cass
Clutching is the way to go , the money saved from not replacing belts pays for its self .
Great write up Kyle and Cass. Yeah I hear you on the modding of the ATV. I know for when I get another ATV I won't be doing as much to it as I did to my current Grizzly. More mods more problems haha.
Live and learn, eh? Ill be much more selective next time around!
@@MainvilleATV Yes it's a definitely live and learn lesson hehe.
love the videos u inspiresd me to by my 2019 outlander 1000 xmr it is a great machine i ride with guys on honda 420 still waiting on them to show me what they got lol
Those Hondas are going to have a rough time man lol
@@MainvilleATV its fun to watch them ill post a few pics on your face book later today of my machine its my first atv and i love it
I have the 2020 model of this bike. Haven't dealt with older models and have yet to play without snow. I really like the feel of the stock clutch. Love the machine. At this point my only complaints is the 65 mph speed limiter and low speed, low power reverse. Will be changing some things this summer.
Sounds like you need an ecu flash :)
@@MainvilleATV just purchased it a month ago from dealer. Nothing done that I am aware of. But the flash will be done soon.
Thanks for the input on ride comfort. I do lots of trail riding and mud. I might be better off in a XTP. I love polaris sportsman's ride but can't beat the Can am power!!
The XT and XTP are very comfortable and plush rides, cant go wrong!
Cass was way too serious, I’ve come to expect her being quirky... lol. On another note, I have an Outlander 850 (2019) and the only issue I’ve had is brake pads, but having two sets of tires are definitely a positive, totally agree with you two!
Haha, don't worry shes a giant child and not changing any time soon!
I'm always reading that Can Am's are always broken/expensive to fix. Is that a riding style causing it? Or are there weak links in the bike
Wild looking XMR ! Another nice review. You guys are so right, likes/dislikes are all perspective. I know those tires don't help your ride comfort at all haha maybe it would be good if you had two sets of rims/tires, if you know you are going on a long trail ride, you can switch over to a trail tire, softer and smoother. just an idea. Thats weird your wife's Kodiak engine breaking isn't that great, I know the Grizzly engine breaking is great, I have 2600km and still have stock pads, BUT I'm not in 1/4 the mud you guys are in haha thanks for sharing !
Yeah, I can be pretty hard on the brakes too based on how easily I get distracted by nature and whatnot haha. As for tires, Kyle actually does have two sets of rims/tires now. Motoclaws for trails and motohavoks for mud. - Cass
Can I delete my o2sensor on my Honda rancher 2020 420
Love it!
Is your quad a max frame or standard xmr 1000r?
Outlander 1000r xmr is a max frame. No other way to get it.
Hi guys great video ... my question how long would a rider like yourself keep that machine ?
For me, ideally I'd get about 5 good years. Knowing me, ill do it faster just to try new things! If you really want you can have it for a life time of course.
Mainville ATV and Outdoors What model are you thinking of as a starting point for your next build? Extended frame or regular?
When it’s time to upgrade....
Having had the exact same bike, my top like is it’s look, top dislike is the ability to change the belt. Doing so on the trail would be a big job, even if you had all the tools needed. It’s hard enough in a warm clean dry garage.
Anyway, I sold it for a profit, as I’ve done with 7 bikes before it, and now don’t know what to get next. Want a two up but that limits me to two manufacturers, which I’ve had already. Never had a king quad or rubicon yet, maybe one of those, just so I’ll be half excited to try something new.
Belt changes are quite easy, especially with aftermarket floor boards. I'd suggest the king quad if you were to choose between the two!
Hey! You're one of the 3 winners of the random sticker draw! Get a hold of us on our social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram or Facebook) with your full name and address so we can get them out to you! We also have our business email if that is easier mainvilleatv@gmail.com !
great vid, can't wait to see one on mama bear.
love the kodiak engine brake, hardly use my actual brakea. have driven an 850 outlander and found the engine brake horrible .
That video is next dude! :)
I love your vids I’ve been watching them for a while.
Thanks fellah!
Thanks for replying, I rarely have anyone that reply’s to my comments
No problem! We try our best :)
😀👍🏻
Awesome video guy&gal! I have a bone stock (other then 30" cryptid's) max xtp and love it, like you I use it for everything, hunting, hauling, mudding, trail riding and plowing. This might start a conversation.....Cass...the mighty XMR is a man's bike...the yamaha on the other hand well just sayin.
real men don't need a massive bike to compensate for other things...just sayin'
roflmao... team kodiak ftw
Haha no offence taken! I love my bike, he loves his :) - Cass
@@jasonmorehouse3756 Haha don't get your manties in a bunch, they said at the beginning of the video they were going to randomly give away stickers to someone who started a conversation about the video, I actually almost bought a grizzly instead of the outlander the deciding factor was the extended wheel base for 2up riding as my wife likes to go.
Okay NOW we need this type of video for the kodiak :)
It's already scheduled:)
Hey how did y’all get this color four wheeler?
It's one of the colours available from 2018
Mainville ATV and Outdoors ok awesome tysm! 😁👍
Do you think I could fit 31” motohavoks on a stock ride height can am outlander without much rubbing?
What model? Either way, yes you will get some
Mainville ATV and Outdoors it a 2019 850 outlander
What model though, xmr, xtp, xt?
Mainville ATV and Outdoors oh it’s a xt
@@jdblaster5154 xts suspension is far too soft. It wouldn't fit properly without mods, trimming or a boat load of preload
GREAT VIDEO .............more stickers lol
My 2016 850xtp is reliable, love the ride and the handling. I only ever owned hondas and I'd say it's just as reliable.
Your radiator cover did you have that made or you bought it off a website
I had it made.
Mainville ATV and Outdoors who made it for you I am try to get one made but I can’t find no one
Unfortunately the company we used isn't operating anymore so I can't be of much help there. Sorry dude.
I have a 19 Outlander xmr 650. I enjoy the short frame. The 1000 does seem like a very big machine. Not that I wouldn't love a 1000.
If I did it all over again Im not sure which I would do. The short frame is very appealing but the 1000 is the cats ass so it would be hard.
@@MainvilleATV If I didnt need a machine with a rear rack and something for trailers and plowing. The renegade would be sweet. My wife and I are looking into that for her.
Love this bike , I prefer the Polaris for comfort alittle more just because the seat is much narrower
Yeah, the sportsman have a pretty plush ride I have to agree! Thanks for watching!
Have you came across any broken frames? Seems like a common issue on the forums, especially with the max chassis. I see lots of people doing what’s called a frame mod, 1 1/4 square stock inside the frame and welded at the end. Keep up the great work and keep the videos coming.
How much did the clutch cost?
Was years ago at this point I have no idea
I don’t like the snorkel that’s on it either I think a aftermarket kit would give me more piece of mind
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
Good stuff
Thanks!
Would you guys recommend a can am Outlander 850 xmr or 1000 xmr?
Little vague, what are you looking for?
Mainville ATV and Outdoors I’m sorry so I’m looking to buy a new toy. I currently own a 05’ Honda Rincon. I don’t really go mudding it’ll be mostly for trail rides some small river crossing and maybe a small mud hole. Do you think the extra $2,000 or so is worth buying the 1000? I personally like the 850 but I’ve never tried riding something like this before. I really appreciate your response.
@@lulzimwalker8896 By the sounds of it you'll enjoy the 570 or 650. More than enough for what you want and can save more.
Mainville ATV and Outdoors good point thank you
If you have time do 650xmr vs 700 grizzly but use equally experienced rider for both
It would be a short video, in my opinion the 650 xmr would win majority of categories. Not to say the grizzly is a slouch.
I had a 700 grizzly and was about to purchase a 650xmr so was curious so there that far apart but grizzly is lighter so might go more places power isn’t everything
Mainville 🤘👏👊👍❗❗❗❗
Good review. I can see where she’s getting the “it feels big” I came from a Honda 680 and I loved the size of it being I’m only 5’8 or so but I’ve gotten use to my 1000 and love the power. I’ll definitely be doing clutching here sometime over the summer or fall just got the bike a few months back. I’m on the Fence I’d getting a exhaust. If I do it will b a yoshi or a mbrp I don’t want it crazy loud. Either way I’ll get a ecu reflash or programmer. U should make a vid on if it’s better to do ecu reflash or a programmer
I want this quad SOOOOO BADDDDDD
Awesome video my name is Random Winner!!
🤣🤣
Omg you’re making me wanna buy an outlander😂😬
Any way i can just buy some stickers off you guys please loving the dirty life one's 😃
You can absolutely message us on Facebook or Instagram if you'd like to purchase some of our stickers, but unfortunately we don't sell the Dirty Life ones. Those are sold through his own store at www.dirtylife.ca when he has them in stock.
I like the horse power of the cam am. But dislike the price tag
I'd like to see how you guys liked/disliked your sledding experience this past winter! I see it peaking it's ski over to the bottom right of this video! ;)
Good eye! We may do that, not sure! Thanks for watching!
i love mine just hate the shifting not sue how to fix it
Nice...
Cass and her belly boots 😍😍😍😍
Belly boots? :P - Cass
I agree with dis 2 control... straight at can am, to much power. Power is nice until it goes to far, when you can have a whoops weelie leeds to a walk. Something needs a detune or torque dampener. Steering all atvs non and power steering it's never right.
Personally: covers just like a Polaris fun till in the shop (once they gone it's all good tho)
Going to argue engine brakes: I perfer yamaha (throttle activation) over the any drop acivation.
Top or bottom heavy everything is different idk yours. Top heavy is self explanatory but if it's bottom don't know if u have but they act 2x as heavy.
Size and weight I'm balanced hate and love both.
Cass’s bike has 45hp and the 1000r has 91 or so that might be the reason why it has amazing engine braking is heavy tires and giant lug and in my oppinion can am has a tendancy to push to much power and blow the you have polaris from what i know they love blowing belts and the en you got yamaha they dont have the most power and now honda the dct hurts and the kawi i personally hate my dealer in sturgeon falls and and arctic well they arent too bad. But other than my oppinion on bikes it sucks that i cant get an elka suspension for a yama kodiak 2000 401cc probably pushing a small 20 hp or so but hey it beats my dads bike with stock tires (yama kodiak 700 2019) STOCK ot hurts hes in a small hole of mud and he get stuck so i go push him out but the 401cc was used to plow so the suspension sucks but i got mud lites not the greates looking tire but they work. If you got a 900ace turbo does that mean cass will get a sidewinder because thats the turbo 998 triple but the yama equivalent would be the viper so... and you guys are the best keep editing and making awesome videos
700 kodiak is actually just shy of 49hp, I have exact same bike as Cass, and mine has great engine braking. i believe it comes down to her secondary spring being a bit stiffer than mine, and the massive 30" tires rotating. Her gold vs my purple spring. I think Casshas 1g lighter weights than me, but same machined sheave by Brian
Time to get the wife a renegade
Not sure she'd want one. She didnt care for it when we tried them out!
With lucky 7 floorboards i clear 33 bkts no problem for anyone wondering 🙌
I understand that you like can am it is a cool bike no doubt about that and I am the most because it’s easy for you to work on I understand that you been grown to that it’s different for me I’ve been running around Honda so I know how to work on the Honda but I don’t know how to work on Can-Am or anything else so I understand what you’re saying about how it is easy for you but it’s easy for me so somethings are easier for some people then they are other people hope y’all love it in Canada it looks like a cool country but I live is south Carolina and I will probably never go out there, love the vids a
I have a artic cat and a can am I hate the can am the thing blows belts all the time but then again you expect them to break
i can have a propshaft out of an outlander in 30 minutes
Big toys for big boys love it or hate it
Why would you do a 200km run with a mud bike? The tires would kill anyone
Michael Bury Honda for you buddy! Jk 😁
good one,for one the one on Cass bike?
Sure do! It'll be out in a couple days.
Get ur self a 90 cc😂😂😂
I'd still find a way to blow absurd money and hurt myself :)
like#3hahahahaha is that a april fools joke lol
