I came back to Philadelphia from Virginia 2 years ago, though I didn’t want to , and NO , it’s not safe. I felt much safer in Va. I told my daughter I didn’t want to come back to this toilet Phila is turning into, but she wanted to come back home , so ( against my wishes ) here I am . Crime is getting out of hand here too. My grandson set up surveillance cameras all through and around our house, so it’s a small measure of peace of mind 😇 Was on my way to Home Depot earlier on the bus , and saw a sign on someone’s lawn that said FIRE KRASNER , I didn’t know why then , but I understand why now. The drunkard we have for mayor should be fired also, along with this woman as she doesn’t seem to know ANYTHING, or just doesn’t want to give a clear answer. 😡😡😡.

My issue with these confirmations, no matter the party, is the unwillingness to just be honest with what everyone already knows. I know that the person up for confirmation knows that it would mean they are disqualified, but maybe that would force the people putting people forward to put better people forward.
I see clips like this and it’s infuriating that we have to play these games with people who shouldn’t be anywhere near positions of power because they have this level of untrustworthiness that says they shouldn’t.
I agree, but let me ask you something. Why would being HONEST disqualify you? They already have the evidence of it. Beating around the bush, deflecting from the question, wasting time serves zero purpose. People can change, people can reform - but it is about action and firstly, owning the mistakes of their past. What infuriates me the most is that these type of nomination hearings are just a lame cat and mouse game, because they will ask the nominees tough questions and they ALWAYS, regardless of what side of the fence they sit on, ALWAYS deflect or give a non-answer. This type of hearing should be a moment of self-reflection for these nominees and a platform to explain how, for a life position, they are going to do better and are qualified to move forward into that position, away from their bad decisions in the past.

I have lived in Philadelphia my whole life as did many generations of my family. Let’s start by saying, there has not been a republican in office in Philadelphia in 60 or 70 years, I just want to make that abundantly clear. They can not use a cop out of any kind. Now I can speak first hand, Larry Krasner has destroyed the safety of the people and has put all of Philadelphians in jeopardy with his ridiculous ideologies. It is more dangerous now than it was in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, this is speaking volumes as I have been born and raised in Kensington, Philadelphia. But my parents never feared allowing their kids to play outside. Now being a mother myself, I’m afraid to let my children go to the store alone, if they’re gone for more than 10mins I call and check in on them. The atmosphere is so much worse now, and there’s no hope in sight. Now with gentrification at the forefront, almost all if not all are far leaning leftists, that were raised in the suburbs and have no idea what living in the city means. They vote for the nonsense that is Larry Krasner and honestly have no real idea of what they are voting for. I was one of the many that actually changed my party from Rep.to Dem. To try and ensure he lost the vote from the very beginning. But the powers to be chose Uncle Larry and so we have it. Something has got to give, Philadelphia needs a major change.

I must have been four or five years old at the most. I stole a roll of caps for my cap gun. My mother found out about it when we were home and it was back on the bus to the store we went. My mother called the manager over and forced me to tell what I had done.

One of my best university students went to Philadelphia main campus of Temple U. during Obama admin. He was stabbed the first week he got there by thugs he didn’t know.
The Temple U. campus is surrounded by a fetid social-cesspool. Its been that way since the mid 1960s. Many of the daily communting students have concealed carry permits.

If an applicant attempts to verbally dance around a question without actually answering it, they should receive an official warning : that they will be ejected from consideration for the position they are being interviewed for if they try that again.
The positions in question are so important, though, that this should already be the policy.

When the senators are asking these people specific questions. I don't understand why the senators don't preface their specific questions with the following;
"The question that I am about to ask you is a specific question and for which I am asking for a "yes" or "no" answer. If you do not answer the specific question which I am about to ask you with a beginning "yes" or "no" I will assume that your answer is "no", or in the alternative situation, I will assume your answer is "yes".
As soon as the person starts off with neither a "yes" or "no", then it seems that the senator is at liberty to say, "thank you for the "yes" answer" or thank you for the "no" answer, and then to proceed to the next specific question.
It would certainly reduce my time listening to the nonsense that the spews forth from the person to whom the specific question was asked.
If you have read this far, I have the following specific question for you:
The question that I am about to ask you is a specific question and for which I am asking for a "yes" or "no" answer. If you do not answer the specific question which I am about to ask you with a beginning "yes" or "no" I will assume that your answer is "no", The specific question is "Was this comment worth reading?" ;-)
