Ledell Lee’s shoes contained blood from Debra Reese.
Before his execution, Lee said his last words would be “I am an innocent man”. When he was on the gurney in the execution chamber, he was asked twice if he had any last words. He said “no” both times.

I've seen a few of the hearings and this isn't the worst one. Although she didn't answer yes or no they were still answers. Long winded and clearly very cautious of what she was saying but I'd rather that than straight up lies, like the others I've seen.

She slandered the whole state as draconian over an execution of a convicted murderer with no evidence to back up his claims of innocence and plenty of evidence to prove his guilt? She cannot keep things civil. It is fine that someone approached her to review the case, but it's the way she reviewed it by turning the process into a Jerry Springer show.

  • @Edgedick

I've seen other footage of her spewing bullshit... but in this case what she's saying, at least to some degree, seems reasonable. Since it sounds like it's an ongoing case she's working on, she's not actually allowed to comment on that, and if she was the guy's lawyer at any point, it'd get her disbarred to share any privileged information, no?
And she's technically right about eyewitness testimony being unreliable, people have been shown the same photo with some time between each viewing, and though they initially said "that was the person", they later change their response.
Again, don't like her, and generally she seems biased to me, but those aspects of her response seem to be reasonable.

This nominee, Morrison, is chilling because she is so evasive in her responses. The DNA was conclusive! Also, the evidence was overwhelming that Lee was guilty but she doesn’t have the guts to say Lee was clearly guilty! The fact she won’t express her outrage about Lee as a killer and a rapist is appalling! Her responses suggests she has very clear dubious links with sections of the ethnic community which supported Lee.
