I'm glad someone finally took Callum's side on the whole Rayllum issue. I know Ezran is an endless well of optimism but he could have shown a bit of resentment to Rayla for how much she hurt Callum instead of acting like Callums overreacting and he should just let it go and be grateful she came back. It's neat that Amaya used her own experiences to sympathise with Rayla's decision but then explain why it was flawed. "Stronger together" is exactly the thing I wanted Rayla to learn at some point.
This is one of my favorite episodes, I kinda feel like this and episode 8 are a new peak for this show. This episode is incredible the character interactions are meaningful and well written and they flow so much easier than last season. Amaya yelling for them to go gave me chills. This episode was impactful and wonderful, I would go as far to say episode 4 and 8 are the best episodes of the entire series yet. 100/10⭐
Episode 4 is one of my favorite episodes to date, definitely deserves your 10/10 rating. I loved all the Rayllum scenes we got, especially the Flashback and the “I hope you know-“ “I know” moment. The coins was amazing too, absolutely died when Callum said “I’d do anything for you.” He is literally such an amazing chapter, and I’m glad he’s back. I missed him in season 4. Back to the “I hope you know-“ scene, it made me tear up SO much. I love this whole scene, from the look they give each other, to the way Callum rubs Raylas hand with his thumb, to the “I know”- ahh!! Callum will do anything for his Rayla, and I hope he just doesn’t go too far.. 👀❤️ Also Zubiea.. I feel so bad for her. I know someone was going to be corrupted, but I hadn’t expected it to be her. Leaves it interesting. The whole Sol Regim scene caught me off guard, tbh. I don’t believe this is the last we will see of him. ANYWAYS- The rest of the episodes from here on out are amazing, and I cant wait to see your reaction to the rest of this amazing season.

I feel like Callum and Ezran really need to keep better track of him. Being so small and slow, he's a lot more vulnerable than anyone else in the group.

The second half was intense, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, constantly wondering who was going to be scratched, I did not expect Zubeia though. This is definitely my favourite episode of the ones you’ve watched at least. 9/10
Episode 4 had me so scared the entire time. Mainly for Amaya because coming in I was like : “they’re gonna kill her aren’t they” to prepare myself for the worst, but then when she got surrounded by the banthers, I was actually about to start sobbing 😭 I’m so happy they managed to escape but AUGGGHH. Also the Rayllum this episode was just 😭 The only thing that made me go “bruh “ was way Callum got everyone almost killed just to save Raylas parents. LIKE DUDE?! JUST TAKE THE BOOK WITH YOU? EVEN STELLA GOT SMART AND TOOK THE PAGE OUT LIKE ??? I like how they show just how big the effect of Rayla leaving was thru how EVERY other character is mentioning how distressed Callum was. But I also think that that’s foreshadowing something rlly bad , cuz callums reminding me too much of Viren and his whole “I’d do anything for my family. However Dangerous. However Vile” ideology Also I can’t wait to see them go to that tower place for the quasar diamonds ( small spoiler 🚨!: they never actually go there in s5 😭) my only question is why is it so complicated to get them out of those coins?! But so easy to put them in?! If you’ve seen my other comments you already know what I’m aboutta say (trust me this hate I have will make sense the more you watch) I HATE KARIMMMMM HE NEEDS TO GO AWAYYY about the scratch she got I have 2 words: ZUBEIA NOOOOOOOOOOO Anyway let’s stop rambling. This episode was incredibly stressful. I honestly thought they might kill Amaya there for a minute, and when Zubeia got scratched I actually yelled at my screen, lol. It might very well be my favorite episode of the season, if not close to it. I also liked that we had Amaya give Rayla the push she needed to talk to Callum. In the absence of an actual conversation about Rayla leaving, I think her choosing to finally be honest and work on opening up to him is the next best thing. Especially when you consider Callum established that he's given her his full faith and trust. It's nice to see them kind of meeting half way --- him accepting her as she is and her letting herself be vulnerable. I think it was hard for her, not only because of the awkward phase their relationship was in, but also because she probably knew he would immediately want to try to fix everything for her.
Yeah she was convinced they were dead at the end of TTM. She claimed she wanted to find Viren to make sure he didn't hurt anyone again but by the end of the Chasing Shadows trilogy she realised she was motivated more by a personal desire for revenge.
I like this episode because now I know what happened to the animals in Xadia, including finding the way to save rayla family and stopping Aaravos. And at last hearing Amaya SPEAKING! For the first time!!
Great reaction to this emotional episode! Amya talking hit me really hard, and i really didn't want her sacrifice herself, but I'm glad they didn't kill her off.😊
If Rayla told the rest of the group earlier about her parents and mentor about being found before going into Lux Aurea then Zubiea would not have got corrupted.
I honestly think zubeia would've gotten bitten anyway cause they were already looking for something about aaravos, but yeah maybe if they were a bit faster they could've all escaped

It might be just me but I felt like the scenes of Rayla confessing to Callum and Callum telling Rayla what he found in the book all could have been done on the way home/back to the Sun village. Poor Zubia what is going to happen now she got bitten by a shadow beast. Also Callum the way he said he will do anything for Rayla its hits you right here in the heart. The animation has gone better and the first season. The animation was funny, clunky and awkward and slow, but i got used to it for season 5 they increase the steaks and action and i love the dragon queen’s entrance is such awesome⚡️ and Now I’m worried for zubeia i hope she’s gonna be OK
As someone part of the Deaf community, I love Amaya, but why this season is no one else signing to her?! Yes, Gren can interpret, but the myth needs to die that deaf people can rely on reading lips! Even with context, hearing and non-hearing people trained to read lips can only understand about 30% of what is said! So why are all the characters not consciously including her into conversations?! Like, LOOKING at her! And signing for themselves to speak with her?! I want to scream at Callum, “YOU KNOW ASL! WHY AREN’T YOU TALKING WITH YOUR AUNT?! INCLUDE HER!” “JANAI! YOU ARE HER LOVE! SIGN WHEN YOU SPEAK TO HER SO SHE CAN UNDERSTAND YOU!” TDLR: please oh please, make the characters that love Amaya like family treat her like family. Be inclusive of her. She doesn’t have to accommodate to a hearing world. The world, her own family and friends must accommodate to her. As my Deaf grandma would say, “A Deaf person can do anything, but hear.” It’s just a bit obvious that the writers are hearing and haven’t spent enough time thinking for how a Deaf character lives in the world.
I am really concerned about these corrupted creatures just being out in the wild - we should be seeing a lot more xaidans get infected and the uninfected setting up more barriers 😬😬😬

The queen has the ability to save Amaya but she just stands there while Amaya is fighting for her life when the queen could just use her breath or SOMETHING to save her it was unnecessary for her to just be left there

The animation has gone better and the first season. The animation was funny, clunky and awkward and slow, but i got used to it for season 5 they increase the steaks and action and i love the dragon queen’s entrance is such awesome⚡️

As someone part of the Deaf community, I love Amaya, but why this season is no one else signing to her?! Yes, Gren can interpret, but the myth needs to die that deaf people can rely on reading lips! Even with context, hearing and non-hearing people trained to read lips can only understand about 30% of what is said! So why are all the characters not consciously including her into conversations?! Like, LOOKING at her! And signing for themselves to speak with her?! I want to scream at Callum, “YOU KNOW ASL! WHY AREN’T YOU TALKING WITH YOUR AUNT?! INCLUDE HER!” “JANAI! YOU ARE HER LOVE! SIGN WHEN YOU SPEAK TO HER SO SHE CAN UNDERSTAND YOU!”
TDLR: please oh please, make the characters that love Amaya like family treat her like family. Be inclusive of her. She doesn’t have to accommodate to a hearing world. The world, her own family and friends must accommodate to her. As my Deaf grandma would say, “A Deaf person can do anything, but hear.” It’s just a bit obvious that the writers are hearing and haven’t spent enough time thinking for how a Deaf character lives in the world.

The queen has the ability to save Amaya but she just stands there while Amaya is fighting for her life when the queen could just use her breath or SOMETHING to save her it was unnecessary for her to just be left there
I just noticed that at the end of exactly this episode there was a new character, who will probably show up in season 6. And yeah, I'm rewatching season 5 right now because I'm kinda bored 🥲
