I agree Simon I much prefer the backing of the 1st edition, I know the original one has the borders, but I modified mine and removed them from mine. They are glossy but I still think I prefer my original, with the banner at the bottom it feels more circus to me love & blessings ❤

I’ve been wanting this deck for a while but other than the Matt finish I don’t think I care for the new edition… I guess I’ll have to hunt down the original copy. Those backs and title banners were a key feature of this deck and I think it was washed away in the reprint.
You made me finally buy this deck. I have been holding off, but after seeing your review yesterday, I finally decided to get it. So, so beautiful. I prefer this new edition. The Pixie Pierrot card reminds me of the actress Jean Seberg, who was famous for her blond pixie. Thanks for another wonderful review.

Received my deck and absolutely love it. Some reviewers did not like the harlequin images but I think they are stunning. Glad to now have it in my collection.
I think I prefer the new version but like you I preferred the original backs.
I got the mat finish ine, becausevi love it, but, paud extra to find the original one,too !
Simon it's called a seam ripper.We use it in sewing for picking stitches out.Its very sharp and very precise 😊

I have a couple of Alana Fairchild decks ( which are in my box for rehoming ...if I ever get around to it) but these look to be an entirely different style of artwork...this deck is not for me as I’m just not drawn to circus - type stuff. But you have reminded me that ‘ Lord Ganesh’ is still on my wish list. Thanks Simon! And what a great use for seam ripper ..I’m sure I have some!

The new cards really let the art shine, but i agree with wanting the older card back design. The circus tent would really bring the theme together. Thanks for showing this deck. I had never seen it before!

This was funny at the beginning with the seam ripper 🤣 apparently they are great for opening decks. I really like this deck, I used to have the original and wish I had kept it as actually I think I prefer the original one. And Yay! You got some sand 😁😍❤️
Yes, it came wet though, so hoping it will dry out eventually.
