I just got this deck. I admit, I was sleeping on it... it's exceptional. I know that not many people will like how the authors seemed to go with their own idea about the reversals, but I'd consider these reversed/shadow aspects of the cards as a different take or interpretation, not a 'set in stone' thing. I usually see the reversals as someting that is either blocked, something that needs to change, or something that needs a different approach or whatever, but honestly, I'd use this as one of those non-traditional decks. It's truly a sight to behold!

Low Scarabeo has really stepped up their game recently. I’m thrilled! 😃👍🏻 I gotta say I’m not thrilled with the images. This one’s not for me, but I do love your walkthroughs. ❤️❤️❤️
Also a bit uncomfortable with how many pale blonde figures are upright and their opposite is a darker haired less white looking figure who is implying ruin or evil.
I have mixed feelings, I love the concept of the deck, the colours and sone of the art fit the way I read reversals but generally, reversals for me are the energy of the card is blocked, invisible or unable to be read conclusively. I don't see each card as a binary opposite.
I mean, different people have different ideas on reversed cards. I do the same as you, but I got this deck because I thought the "pre-set" reversal/shadow aspects of the cards would be an interesting idea, and I wasn't wrong. You can use this deck as something different from your usual repertoire. I don't even read reversals that often, but this deck is a nice change of pace.
I don't read reversals, but it doesn't seem to me that the reversed images really exemplify reversed meanings. They just take the upright image and turn everything dark and broken and creepy looking. For example with the lovers, which deals with choice, I don't see how Eve has a choice and Adam in the reversal doesn't (and it's SO Christian in interpretation). Nice art, though. Hi Simon, I'm not a Tarot reader nor do i collect them but i have to say i absolutely love this deck. The art work is stunning. I may have to purchase this deck for that alone. (Simon made me do it) comes to mind. lol.
I have a lot of Lo Scarabeo decks including this one and I have noticed if it comes in the nice 2 part box the cards are thicker and more normal tarot size. Where as if it comes in a tuck box the cards are much smaller and thinner. I thought it was the old way and thet were going for the new 2 part box more but I recently got the Surrealist tarot and Tarot at the end of the Rainbow both smaller in tuck boxes and both new this year. So I guess it all depends on the creator which option they choose from Lo Scarabeo.
