I’m confused I talked to ranni then talked to the other 2 people (because i alr beat radahn) in her tower sat at the grace in there I went to go talk to her again and she doesn’t say anything
I think you miss one last step. Probably optional. You go back to Ranni's rise and rest at the top of the grace and you can talk to her. This will affect the ending dialogue of the game if you choose Ranni's ending.
She also talks more at the Grace just before Nokstella, eternal city. She actually mentions that she should betray Blaidd and says Blaidd is useless, and that she will probably betray you too. (she says something like: "I will do it to thee too" or something)

This was absolutely amazing. It's my first time playing a From Software game and I ended up running into a wall where I didn't like not knowing where to go for the next quest. This was do clear and easy to follow for a noob 😅 thank you for putting the time into this!

Even experienced players sometimes used guides for quests, since there's no way of knowing what to do on your own but to blindly look for next quests. This is much simpler.
I didn’t want nothing ill to happen to Blaidd and Iji, but such fate must come to them. Their deaths will never be forgotten. Blaidd helped me obtained an early powerful weapon that aid me well in the quest, and Iji helped add more strength to the high weapons and being a gentle giant as well.
@@ArchieSB758 the man helped me get the blood hang found by complete accident after I stumbled upon him the first time. Got me the bloodhound fang within a couple hours of my first play though. I got my ass beat the first time and I felt confident an hour later when back and my man blaid was there ready to summon. Then with radahn let me one phase him to the point I didn’t even know there was a second phase. Rip
The only problem I have with this game is it doesn't tell you anything. It worked in linear games because it was in your path but this is an open world, it should give you at least a progress tracker. Great game ruined by bad design, my final score is 8/10.
@@rover5058It is not bad design, the map is bottom up, bottom is easiest and it progresses upwards, so logically if you just go up you’ll reach the end game. Plus every npc and item description hints at either lore or places to travel too. As an example Gideon tells you where to find all 7 shard bearers. Medallions tell you to find the other half to use a lift to another map section, quest item descriptions all hint at their intended locations are named after the location they belong to or are directly related to where you’ll be forced to travel. Just some examples. You claim that a quest log is needed, but it’s never been needed in a souls game because the progression is all the same, linear it’s simply in a bigger scale this time. But if you take your time, read item descriptions and explore you’ll find your way around the world easily. Plus all the roads lead somewhere. If you take all of that into consideration it should be a 10/10 for you.

@@Wattson_Nessy ikr game is so terrible with guidance. its literally impossible without youtube. the only possible way is far from practical youd have to just test things out in different ways by starting new characters which is definitely not happening as that could take 100000 hours and still might not figure it out.

Good strategy for Astel is get ahold of the rotten breath for the Dragon church and use that to give him scarlet rot. Makes fighting easier because you don't have to run across the boss arena to get a hit. He'll be takin constant damage while you are going after him
Here’s a cheese tactic for Astel for you: summon your spirit ash and let them sit back and relax while they watch you beat Astel pretty much single-handedly
I am 🙋🏽♂️ Just recently got this game bundle(+ the DLC) and I... Actually cleared most of this quest by accident (Meaning I met Ranni, thought I'd do her quest later but coincidentally ended up at the war festival, learned I was actually supposed to do that, then just kinda went with the flow from there....) I have no idea what her companion's individual quest were, I only saw the end results (their introductions was all I got out of these characters.)
For those whom don't have the Dark Moon ring it is at Ronnalas The Queen of the Moons grace point, the chest with the Dark Moon ring needs to be opened by the Discarded Palace Key.
And for those who don't know how to get the Discarded Palace Key, you have to talk to Ranni at a specific grace in the river where u get her doll, then she'll tell you to kill the Baleful Shadow. You have to talk to her 3 times before she stops saying "..."
This guide was fantastic. Followed it from start to finish for the entire quest and there were zero errors or confusion. Everything was spot on and a made the entire quest very smooth to complete. Just wanted to say thanks.

If you follow this questline video, there is a very important step that you must do before you hand Ranni the Fingerslayer Blade. At 5:07, after you get the Fingerslayer Blade, don't go to Ranni just yet. The Magical Scorpion Charm is one of the top 5 talismans in the game, and you can't get it once Seluvius is dead. He dies once Ranni is given the blade. You get the charm by giving Preceptor Seluvis the Amber Starlight after Seluvis tells you about his scheme, but it cannot be obtained after Seluvius' death (which occurs when the Fingerslayer Blade is given to Ranni the Witch) This makes it the only Scorpion Charm you can lock yourself out of getting in a playthrough.
@@CrimAMV just wait for second playthrough. And don't forget to buy a lot of smithing stones before going for the second round. And try to get some weapons too, so you can try builds that require 2 weapons of the same kind
this is more of a YT meta comment, but thanks for keeping this so direct without adding anything unneeded. this is a long quest line and i appreciate your guide being the shortest, as well as having the chapters noted. it makes things very easy to pick up your spot in the questline without having to wade thru a 40 minute video.
Not even gonna lie.. I think I did 80% of this quest line by accident. After taking the lift up to kill adula for the actual kill I never went into the chapel because of (I’m dumb reason) lol. Glad I got to finish it in my play through to get some cool sorceries as I am a mage.
Everyone makes lake of rot so difficult. You know what I did? I ran across it. No pressure plates, no boluses, just ran. It cost me less than half my crimson flasks. Edit: I didn't even trigger any enemies. I ran unopposed.
Thank you SO MUCH for this guide! You go over every step, and how to approach the steps if your at a certain part of the game, plus somehow you made this into a 14 minute video instead of a multiple hour one. Truly doing the lords works.
One thing I found creepy/amazing is the way you find Ranni once you’re done with the dragon. The hole leading up to her seems so crude, you’d expect ladders or something but rather it seems like it was being dig. I think that upon seeing Ranni the Fingers attempted to escape, if you look closely it seems as if they couldn’t dig any deeper. I also wonder why Ranni was without her dress and two arms laying limp, that I’m afraid I can’t even begin to imagine, you can however tell that (the face on the doll at least) seemed at peace, though it seems that the doll is not hosting her soul as you can’t see the ethereal face that you usually see.
9:44 I loved learning his attack patterns, especially dodging it's laser at the last second, and frantically looking around for his surprise attack. 9/10 would fight again.
Example for the astel cheese. Have a mimic tear summon and swarm of flies incantation with ~4 cerulean tear pots, maybe 5 if you havent touched your mind stat at all. The bleed ticks from the flies will chunk the boss for about 1/8 to 1/7 of his health each time so just let him agro onto the mimic which also be using the incantation and applying bleed and yeah. There is a vid on YT somewhere of a guy doing this with no upgraded stats or armour with just a finger ring and caldian shield.
@@migglethemiglet9824 yh. Something that may help also is the talisman shabriris woe from the frienzied village in the top right of liurnia. Equip it before summoning the mimic then unequip after summon then it will force the boss to aggro only onto the mimic so even when you do damage from the incantation he shouldnt then turn to attack you instead
Thank you for this guide. Quick note: For Astel, I used mimic tear, Rotten breath and Rock sling spell. (Lots of dodging, but I got him on the 3rd try).
I just finally beat him my technique was soon as I came in I summon the lone wolf ashes to keep him off me then dogged his attacks till I could get close to him then used meteorite in between dodging his attacks till I got him down to one last hit and used rennalas full moon to get that last hit so I could dodge whil the moon was on its way to get that final hit and it worked it was hard but finally got it

If you use a really upgraded shield with the carian retaliation ash of war you can use the wraith calling bell with it, when you ring the bell it'll summon a yellow orb and if you parry the orb with a shield it'll give you 3 spirit-like-swords do this until the boss is dead, hope this helps
Not exactly “cheese” but with the Samurai build I’m running I use the Rain of Arrows Ash of War on my great bow. It shreds through Astel; you just need to ensure you time your shots right. Hope this helps someone with a similar build! Great guide overall btw. Recently picked up this game and have been binging your quest line vids. By far the best and most informative ER guides.
For Astel I leveled up my mimic to 6 and equipped it the moonveil+6 and carian knight shield so he could distract and survive while I used rotten breath on astel. If you are also worried about your health if you misdodge then use opaline bubble and crimson crystal tear in your wonderous physick to lessen the impact of the next blow and restore half of the total of your hp points.
To anyone having trouble with Baleful Shadow, you can bait him into the Lake of rot elevator and use ANY pull effect to yank it into the hole. its a lethal fall.

there was an actual person who was the first to figure out this entire questline without the use of youtube or reddit or anything and that person is a genius and should be rewarded in kind. really any gamer who completed an entire elden ring questline without any guidance at all should be celebrated. think of how cool thatd be to be the first person to figure out the mysteries of elden ring, i genuinely want to know who that person is.

If you speak to Jerren after accepting to be Ranni's follower, you will be able to tell him about Iji and after some dialogue you can back to Iji to tell him about Jerren, which after some options will trigger the Radanh Festival without talking to Blaidd. To access Jerren when the gates are closed, just walk to the right of the gate and you will eventually get inside via a ladder (don't miss Ashe of War at the ladder). By the way, thanks for your guides, I've done all the quests and almost all the endings thanks to you.

On a side note you don't need to kill radan to get to the under city. Blaidd mentions the well in mistwood and after speaking with Ranni you can use the elevator down in mistwood and in caelid
Do an absolution ritual and/ or defeat Radahn if you already initiated the fight but never completed it. One of those two things will likely bring Ranni back
@@ItsShatter Yeah. This is before I defeated Radahn and was busy trying to beat Melania first but couldn't as a wizard. I did beat Radahn and was super easy or I was over leveled already and Ranni appeared but not the dragon which I don't mind because that makes it easier for my quest.

Nah, I would argue that it's the happiest ending/questline of them all. Player gets married, leaves with Ranni for the stars. Humanity is left to rule itself without the tyranny of the greater will and without the so called "gods". Humanity then has a chance to create their own destiny in freedom. I think this questline and the ending that comes with it is definitely the best there is in all of the souls games.
Astel is rather easy if you have the archer ash (Latenna i believe) all you have to do then is keep being in moderate Range and bombard it either with spells or arrows and when it casts it meteors just keep rolling

I remember the first week or so it was absolute madness trying to figure these quests out 😂. Now I at least have the wiki to help supplement my own experience with completing these quests, doing the best I can to make a video that’s helpful to people at any stage in the game. These quests just have so many permutations, making it very difficult to have a single video that satisfies everyone.

Very good tip: You don’t actually need to bring the ⌛️ to the tower in Liurnia to open the Renna’s rise. Instead, it’ll be automatically opened after giving the finger slayer blade to Ranni 👍
Good to know. I wasn't absolutely sure if getting the Cursemark of Death was required for Ranni's quest (I went and got the Cursemark before I checked the Renna's Rise) so I figured I would include it just in case.
i gave her the fingerslayer blade and got the mark of death and the third tower is still closed. new site of grace in ranni’s rise is not showing up either? :P

I did Seluvis questline first, giving potions to everyone. Then I went to Blaidd. He was hostile at first, but after a visit to the Church of Vows, he became friendly, and suggests me to talk to Seluvis. However, after completing the Seluvis questline, that is impossible. What can I do to receive the letter of introduction? I am guessing killing Radhan will continue the questline? Just checking
I was so busy exploring Nokron that I didn't even realize I already got the fingerslayer blade. So when I went to Ranni I was confused about how I completed that part of the quest. Queue my surprise when I go to Seluvis and find him dead lmaooo

I got my ass beat the first time and I felt confident an hour later when back and my man blaid was there ready to summon. Then with radahn let me one phase him to the point I didn’t even know there was a second phase. Rip

The only problem I have with this game is it doesn't tell you anything. It worked in linear games because it was in your path but this is an open world, it should give you at least a progress tracker. Great game ruined by bad design, my final score is 8/10.

Varne tells you what to do at first then the round table tells you the rest.
@@rover5058It is not bad design, the map is bottom up, bottom is easiest and it progresses upwards, so logically if you just go up you’ll reach the end game. Plus every npc and item description hints at either lore or places to travel too. As an example Gideon tells you where to find all 7 shard bearers. Medallions tell you to find the other half to use a lift to another map section, quest item descriptions all hint at their intended locations are named after the location they belong to or are directly related to where you’ll be forced to travel.
Just some examples. You claim that a quest log is needed, but it’s never been needed in a souls game because the progression is all the same, linear it’s simply in a bigger scale this time. But if you take your time, read item descriptions and explore you’ll find your way around the world easily. Plus all the roads lead somewhere. If you take all of that into consideration it should be a 10/10 for you.

@@Wattson_Nessy ikr game is so terrible with guidance. its literally impossible without youtube. the only possible way is far from practical youd have to just test things out in different ways by starting new characters which is definitely not happening as that could take 100000 hours and still might not figure it out.

Good strategy for Astel is get ahold of the rotten breath for the Dragon church and use that to give him scarlet rot. Makes fighting easier because you don't have to run across the boss arena to get a hit. He'll be takin constant damage while you are going after him

(Meaning I met Ranni, thought I'd do her quest later but coincidentally ended up at the war festival, learned I was actually supposed to do that, then just kinda went with the flow from there....)
I have no idea what her companion's individual quest were, I only saw the end results (their introductions was all I got out of these characters.)

For those whom don't have the Dark Moon ring it is at Ronnalas The Queen of the Moons grace point, the chest with the Dark Moon ring needs to be opened by the Discarded Palace Key.

And for those who don't know how to get the Discarded Palace Key, you have to talk to Ranni at a specific grace in the river where u get her doll, then she'll tell you to kill the Baleful Shadow. You have to talk to her 3 times before she stops saying "..."

If you follow this questline video, there is a very important step that you must do before you hand Ranni the Fingerslayer Blade. At 5:07, after you get the Fingerslayer Blade, don't go to Ranni just yet. The Magical Scorpion Charm is one of the top 5 talismans in the game, and you can't get it once Seluvius is dead. He dies once Ranni is given the blade. You get the charm by giving Preceptor Seluvis the Amber Starlight after Seluvis tells you about his scheme, but it cannot be obtained after Seluvius' death (which occurs when the Fingerslayer Blade is given to Ranni the Witch)
This makes it the only Scorpion Charm you can lock yourself out of getting in a playthrough.

this is more of a YT meta comment, but thanks for keeping this so direct without adding anything unneeded. this is a long quest line and i appreciate your guide being the shortest, as well as having the chapters noted. it makes things very easy to pick up your spot in the questline without having to wade thru a 40 minute video.
Not even gonna lie.. I think I did 80% of this quest line by accident. After taking the lift up to kill adula for the actual kill I never went into the chapel because of (I’m dumb reason) lol. Glad I got to finish it in my play through to get some cool sorceries as I am a mage.

Everyone makes lake of rot so difficult. You know what I did? I ran across it. No pressure plates, no boluses, just ran. It cost me less than half my crimson flasks.
Edit: I didn't even trigger any enemies. I ran unopposed.

One thing I found creepy/amazing is the way you find Ranni once you’re done with the dragon. The hole leading up to her seems so crude, you’d expect ladders or something but rather it seems like it was being dig. I think that upon seeing Ranni the Fingers attempted to escape, if you look closely it seems as if they couldn’t dig any deeper.
I also wonder why Ranni was without her dress and two arms laying limp, that I’m afraid I can’t even begin to imagine, you can however tell that (the face on the doll at least) seemed at peace, though it seems that the doll is not hosting her soul as you can’t see the ethereal face that you usually see.
9:44 I loved learning his attack patterns, especially dodging it's laser at the last second, and frantically looking around for his surprise attack. 9/10 would fight again.
That surprise attack is the bane of my fucking existence, the only part i cant dodge 100% of the time

Example for the astel cheese. Have a mimic tear summon and swarm of flies incantation with ~4 cerulean tear pots, maybe 5 if you havent touched your mind stat at all. The bleed ticks from the flies will chunk the boss for about 1/8 to 1/7 of his health each time so just let him agro onto the mimic which also be using the incantation and applying bleed and yeah. There is a vid on YT somewhere of a guy doing this with no upgraded stats or armour with just a finger ring and caldian shield.

@@migglethemiglet9824 yh. Something that may help also is the talisman shabriris woe from the frienzied village in the top right of liurnia. Equip it before summoning the mimic then unequip after summon then it will force the boss to aggro only onto the mimic so even when you do damage from the incantation he shouldnt then turn to attack you instead

I’ve been trying this but I land multiple good rotten breaths but it doesn’t even give them scarlet rot effect
I just finally beat him my technique was soon as I came in I summon the lone wolf ashes to keep him off me then dogged his attacks till I could get close to him then used meteorite in between dodging his attacks till I got him down to one last hit and used rennalas full moon to get that last hit so I could dodge whil the moon was on its way to get that final hit and it worked it was hard but finally got it

Elden Ring is a great game that tests your reaction time and problem-solving skills. It is fantastic
520 hours in almost level 300 and I am just now finding out there is more underground map. This game never stops amazing me
If you use a really upgraded shield with the carian retaliation ash of war you can use the wraith calling bell with it, when you ring the bell it'll summon a yellow orb and if you parry the orb with a shield it'll give you 3 spirit-like-swords do this until the boss is dead, hope this helps

Not exactly “cheese” but with the Samurai build I’m running I use the Rain of Arrows Ash of War on my great bow. It shreds through Astel; you just need to ensure you time your shots right. Hope this helps someone with a similar build! Great guide overall btw. Recently picked up this game and have been binging your quest line vids. By far the best and most informative ER guides.

For Astel I leveled up my mimic to 6 and equipped it the moonveil+6 and carian knight shield so he could distract and survive while I used rotten breath on astel. If you are also worried about your health if you misdodge then use opaline bubble and crimson crystal tear in your wonderous physick to lessen the impact of the next blow and restore half of the total of your hp points.
Thanks man tried that and got him 1st try with that set up. After losing 4 times before trying those tactics

To anyone having trouble with Baleful Shadow, you can bait him into the Lake of rot elevator and use ANY pull effect to yank it into the hole. its a lethal fall.

If you speak to Jerren after accepting to be Ranni's follower, you will be able to tell him about Iji and after some dialogue you can
back to Iji to tell him about Jerren, which after some options will trigger the Radanh Festival without talking to Blaidd. To access
Jerren when the gates are closed, just walk to the right of the gate and you will eventually get inside via a ladder (don't miss Ashe of War at the ladder). By the way, thanks for your guides, I've done all the quests and almost all the endings thanks to you.

On a side note you don't need to kill radan to get to the under city. Blaidd mentions the well in mistwood and after speaking with Ranni you can use the elevator down in mistwood and in caelid

She was never there to me. I didn't know there was an exit after that boss. How embarrassing. I did meet the dragon but sadly he ran away from me.
Do an absolution ritual and/ or defeat Radahn if you already initiated the fight but never completed it. One of those two things will likely bring Ranni back
@@ItsShatter Yeah. This is before I defeated Radahn and was busy trying to beat Melania first but couldn't as a wizard. I did beat Radahn and was super easy or I was over leveled already and Ranni appeared but not the dragon which I don't mind because that makes it easier for my quest.

Nah, I would argue that it's the happiest ending/questline of them all. Player gets married, leaves with Ranni for the stars. Humanity is left to rule itself without the tyranny of the greater will and without the so called "gods". Humanity then has a chance to create their own destiny in freedom. I think this questline and the ending that comes with it is definitely the best there is in all of the souls games.

Astel is rather easy if you have the archer ash (Latenna i believe) all you have to do then is keep being in moderate Range and bombard it either with spells or arrows and when it casts it meteors just keep rolling

I remember the first week or so it was absolute madness trying to figure these quests out 😂. Now I at least have the wiki to help supplement my own experience with completing these quests, doing the best I can to make a video that’s helpful to people at any stage in the game. These quests just have so many permutations, making it very difficult to have a single video that satisfies everyone.

Very good tip: You don’t actually need to bring the ⌛️ to the tower in Liurnia to open the Renna’s rise. Instead, it’ll be automatically opened after giving the finger slayer blade to Ranni 👍

I did Seluvis questline first, giving potions to everyone. Then I went to Blaidd. He was hostile at first, but after a visit to the Church of Vows, he became friendly, and suggests me to talk to Seluvis. However, after completing the Seluvis questline, that is impossible. What can I do to receive the letter of introduction? I am guessing killing Radhan will continue the questline? Just checking
Yes. Try killing radahn, Blaidd should be there after the fight

I was so busy exploring Nokron that I didn't even realize I already got the fingerslayer blade. So when I went to Ranni I was confused about how I completed that part of the quest. Queue my surprise when I go to Seluvis and find him dead lmaooo
