Top 15 OPTIONAL Bosses You Missed in Elden Ring

  • Ranking some of the greatest optional bosses that a lot of you probably missed in Elden Ring. No amount of talking about how massive this game is will ever do it proper service. It is truly a once-in-a-generation game that everyone must play for themselves. There are only around 10-12 actual bosses required to beat the game, but a good 90% of the game's content is actually not mandatory at all.
We just added an Elden Ring channel in our Discord. Come in and talk with us.
    / discord
    0:57 - Deathbird/Death Rite Bird
    2:28 - Ulcerated Tree Spirit

5:29 - Mohg, Lord of Blood
    6:51 - Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast
7:58 - Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella
    9:04 - Ancestor Spirit/Regal Ancestor Spirit
10:07 - Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy
11:17 - Elemer of the Briar
12:30 - Loretta, Knight of the Hailgtree
    13:54 - Starscourge Radahn
15:13 - Malenia, Blade of Miquella
    16:10 - Lichdragon Fortissax
    17:40 - Dragonlord Placidusax
Oh, and Astel isn't on here because I didn't even find him until after I was already done with the video. Not completely sure where I'd rank him but he would probably take Loretta's spot at 5.

After his God's defeat and exile, he sealed himself away in the storm beyond time to await his God's return, presumably for eternity since time does not pass for him and his God is likely never able to return unless we aid it somehow. @@zimzam24 if you think Midir is a hard fight then you're doing something wrong. Midir is an absolute joke, Demon of Hatred is more annoying than hard.
What build were you using against Mogh? Cause a friend used a bleed build and killed him before he got into phase 2. But fighting him legit? Really hard fight. His attacks are really slow, making the timing really tricky, his attacks easily catch dodges, the bleed flames stay on the ground so if you roll back into them or have to walk through you're gonna stack more bleed, his Turkish explosive swipe is really fast so if youre stuck in an attack animation (I use a slow weapon) you're unlikely to dodge it, it also has surprisingly a lot of range as in phase 2 it hit me even when I rolled backwards twice (rolling forward made it easier but of I was already attacking thats half my hp gone), he does an insane amount of damage, basically two to three-shotting me, the camera can fuck you over when he goes into the air and overall the boss felt like it had a completely different AI than anything in the game. He knew exactly when to use what to be the most annoying and to counter every move and attack. I dont even know how many times he used his whole combo and when I dodged it and healed he was already onto me with a hard hitting overhead, or when he knocked me down and used his rain which insta killed me, or when he used the rain which hit me once in my dodge, slightly staggering me and instantly hitting me. I genuinely felt like I accomplished something when I beat him, I had to actually focus and tryhard to beat him, the only other boss that gave me that feeling so far was Margit because after the First Step and killing the Tree Sentinel I went straight to Margit, completely underleveled without an upgraded weapon and just kept going in until I memorized his moveset and beat him. Radahn is not a hard fight, its just a dumb fight because the camera will fuck you over all the time as you're locked on his bellybutton and his hands are off the screen. He goes on tantrums that randomly catch the final dodge, the run to him is annoying due to the inconsistency of the scattershot attack but thats it. From what I saw he is even easier when fighting him with a bleed build or magic, on horseback and with all the NPC summons, but thats just boring. Fighting him in melee with a slow weapon was tricky and annoying but definitely not hard.

Honestly I’ve been using the sword I’ve found in Carian Manor and the Death Rite Bird Folded pretty fast between myself and my Mimic. The “Legendary Armament.”
That shit hits like a train.
Also it lets me make countless entirely necessary “ExCalibaaaaaaa!!” References.

The only issue with the ulcerated tree spirit is the phase change AOE. Especially in the first area you basically can't dodge it if you are close when the attack starts and it often would hit twice, which was a guaranteed kill

I gotta fight for my boy Midir real quick, mans said they haven’t had any good dragon fights up until fortissax but he must’ve just straight up forgot Midir. One of the coolest designs of a dragon we have seen in souls on top of a beautiful moveset that puts immense pressure on the player at all times. If it wasn’t for Placidusax I’d stand by midir being the best dragon boss in gaming all together.

I'm constantly doing things around the house randomly to make it appear like I don't have an elden ring problem so the old lady dont try to make me stop playing. Ive never felt so excited to play any game. Here i thought ut couldnt get better than god of war or skyrim. Now im def going to tey bloodborne and dark souls. And the way you describe these fights hilariously relatable . I'm subscribing for sure. Great video man.

The serpent slaying spear is actually pretty badass for strength builds. Lots of heavy damage and low FP costs for high poise. As a side note its got a has a 0 stat requirement so even pure wiz/faith can make use of it. For example a soul level 1 heavy weapon for poise breaking (if you crazy like that).

Death bird - holy strike weapons or holy pots ends them fast
Ulcerated tree spirit - any physical attack, fire, frostbite or bleed proc
Valiant gargoyles - strike and magic, I used Oleg ash and watchdog staff
Black blade kindred- strike and magic, I used latenna on a tree in Caelid off to the right and it keeps hitting its head, then watchdog staff is a super powerful strike weapon and can break his stance quick
Mohg lord of blood - lord of exhulation talisman, and use slash and bleed build, you’ll finish him really fast l, especially if your mimic is using bleed slash build too, fight can be over in seconds
Falling star beast - use elemental attacks or scarlet rot and let ash kill it while you keep doing scarlet rot
Dragon skin soldier - slash bloodflame and bleed build ends him quick
Ancestor spirits - are easy and more of just a cool visual fight but not hard at all, fire build will kill it fast
Rykard - upgrade spear and give to mimic tear too and fight will be over very fast but still fun fight
Elemar in shaded castle - I had to just two hand my bloodhound with bloodflame and go for perfect dodge and rely on bloodhound finesse, for him I used a spirit to beat but the version of him in Caelid was brutal and took me a while to beat one on one when I was level 70
Loretta - lighting slash and bleed will end her fast
Radahn - slash bleed bloodflame build with all the summons can end it fast but very fun fight, just enjoy it
Malenia - blasphemous blade taker flames and your mimic using it will end her fast , also bloodhound fang with bloodflame can do tons of damage Inf you and your mimic keep switching aggro on her and triggering bleed, she’s weak to slash, fire and bleed and has low poise
All the dragons are same, just go for legs and break their stance with strong attacks and riposte, use whatever talisman to negate their main elemental attack
