Hello my beautiful friends! Welcome to my CZcams channel! My name is Zoë, which basically stands for LIFE. Exactly what I'm trying to do in it: LIVING IT! On this channel I share videos to optimize our mind and body & create a better world and vlogs about my (digital nomad) life.
I honestly appreciate every one of you looking at my videos. Thank you for that! I find CZcams an amazing tool to connect and have interaction. Let's please try to stay positive, send out a good message and be kind to each other.
Who am I?
I'm a 28-year-old content creator in the online business and I run my own Dutch online platform. I created my own job and this is the reason I can work anywhere in the world. This is a dream which has come true for me. I partly live in Amsterdam and partly all over the globe. On this channel I share my videos of my travels, my ideas & what inspires me. On CZcams I also publish some of the (press)trips that I make throughout the work that I do, and share talking videos with you about career, life, listening to your heart (and mind) and making your dreams become a reality. I feel like if I meditated right when I woke up I'd fall back asleep 😂
Haha! Of course, do whatever works for you :) This is the way for me that I actually do it right away. Sit up straight, that helps! ;)
This year I was in an Ashram in India and the first step at 4.45 am in the morning was an hour of meditation for a whole hour in a dark room. I fell asleep EVERY DAY :´D One time a man was snoring xD
Hahaha, at 4.45 am I would have the exact same thing for sure!

It was awesome. The first days were very tough. My muscles were screaming because of 3 hours of yoga everyday and the hard bed and less sleep, but after 3 or 4 days I felt so much peace I never felt before. It was so freaking boring but exciting the same time. One day I left the evening meditation (and I thought it was a waste of time, because I was so bored) but then I walked out of the room and there was music on the other side of the ganges and the sun went down and suddenly I felt so peaceful I never felt before. Just for 30 minutes, but I will never forget them haha :D Wow, a novel of a comment. Love your videos, will follow you from now on, because exactly the content I missed!

1. no phone
2. meditate immediately after waking up
3. drink a glass of water
4. make a healthy breakfast
5. write down what you're grateful
6. go outside and get some fresh air
7. move your body (exercise routine or yoga)
8. do an affirmation
9. visualize your day
I actually need my phone to go to sleep. I have a really hard time falling asleep on my own but coming on CZcams & playing relaxing delta wave music or listening to an asmr video really helps me fall asleep quickly.

Princess I also like to play CZcams to fall asleep. I make sure the auto play is off.
try and use an app to reduce the blue light from your screen; the blue light keeps your brain simulated
Sacra898 I usually just lock my phone lol. I have youtube red so I don't have to stay in the app.
I used to do something called "the Miracle Morning" which is very similar to this. It felt so good to do but now that I stopped its hard to get back into the routine. It requires waking up before the rest of the house and that is a challenge during the cold dreary winter days especially when you have a cold. This has me thinking of doing it again though. Thanks for the inspiration!
Jens Happy Home I recognize that! Consistency is a challenge in this. I think life is all about balance; sometimes we have moments where we can do this a few weeks or months in a row, and sometimes we don't. Don't be too hard on yourself. At least you're conscious about it and in this way, you can "wake yourself up" again! (Literally, lol)

Zoe, this video brought me to your channel a long time ago. At that point I didnt understand why the hell would I need any kind of routine at all. It was just 'this is the way I may feel even better'. But the really though times of my life started beginning of October - trying to combine daily university studies together with full time job. This resulted into extreme stress, no time for retrospective = couldnt fall asleep and slept max 4 hours per night. This persisted 3 weeks until I was totally desperate and exhausted. Then I started practice your simple little tips. Now I have my morning and evening routine. And you cant even imagine how this helped!!!! In 3 days my sleep went back to normal, in a week I felt like me again. I would never believe if someone told me this before. HUGE THANKS FROM ME. You cant even imagine...
Drink water that's room temp also, cold water actually isn't as good for you than warm water ;) I love meditation

I started writing down only positive things in my dairy daily before sleeping since 27/12/16 and that gradually changed me and gave me a chance to understand myself better ;)

I think the most important thing is to find a routine that works for YOU. In my case, the first thing I do when I wake up is checking my Instagram and Facebook on my phone, while I'm still laying in bed. It starts my day sloooowly as I browse for a good 30 minutes while waking up, and once I step out of bed I'm mostly done with social medias until the next morning!

I do oil pulling first and drink hot lemon tea and drink water after. I can't swallow that morning saliva

yes!! I've done oil pulling for about a year now and I've gotten so many compliments on how white my teeth are. It's hard to do at first, but becomes easier over time

I have always kept my phone next to my bed for the alarm function and for listening to podcasts when I wake in the middle of the night to help me get back to sleep again. But now I've got a light box alarm (because I, too, live in a cold, dark, wet city - London - and feel the affects of SAD) I am going to try leaving my phone in the other room at night. Great tip, looking forward to seeing how it affects my morning routine.
That's a great tip actually! I haven't tried a light box alarm yet, although I heard many great things about it. Perfect for SAD-ones like us ;) Should try it once!

I have watched this video of yours many times now, it isn't easy to develop a morning routine of my own, specially when I'm feeling down (most of the time lately) and all I want is just another 5 minutes of sleep, which quickly turn into an hour and then I have to do everything so fast that I end up at work without even having had time to put on some make up. Anyway, this is something I have to be concerned with, what I really want to say to you is that not only this video, but your mood, your words, your lifestyle (even though not everything applies to mine)... These are awesome suggestions,it will be hard at first to stick to it (for me at least😂) but I actually did notice it make a difference in how I went about my day and how I felt.
That's why I call it 'habits' and not a 'routine'; sometimes I don't do all of them as well, and sometimes I do. As long as you're conscious of the effects, and willing to do some of them now and then, you're already doing great I think! ❤

I love doing many of these things - if not in the morning then at night when I get home from work. A lot of people think stuff like this is "hippy dippy", like you said haha, but I agree that it's so important to take time out of your day to disconnect, relax and reflect. Setting regular goals for yourself & taking the time to appreciate all the little things in life is what gives us a consistent feeling of success and happiness. Otherwise it's so easy to get lost in the days and lose your sense of purpose.

A lot of people don't know this but you should start your day with COLDER water than normal (our catabolism rate goes high trying to warm down the water so we burn a few calories too) and you can infuse it with lemons, strawberries and mint the night before in the refrigerator.

Will try these! I've recently gone clean and have been trying out meditation and mindfulness. I have always struggled with waking up in the morning and sleeping at night! I feel these habits will definitely help!
Loving your channel! My personal morning habit that promotes productivity and positivity is to make a list of the goals I need to accomplish just for THAT day. It's easy to get distracted and overwhelmed thinking about all of the tasks we have to get done by the end of the week/month/etc. By making a short list of tasks for the day, I am better able to focus on being productive without feeling stressed out!
I totally agree! I personally do that in the evening (for the next day). And then writing down what is a 'priority' and what is 'urgent'. Lovely tips, Zoe! :) Here's what I do every morning just after I wake up - I stay in bed for a few moments and try and think of at least one thing I'm looking forward to that day. Sometimes it's just really silly things like eating my morning porridge or going to the climbing gym with my friend that day, but it helps me so much to start the day right.

LOve, love, love the video and the tips that I've heard. :) I also recommend from personal experience - in the morning at the moment that the alarm wake's you up - get up. Lying in bed only makes me angry - instead of getting out of bed and starting my day I am postponing everything

I got rid of most my social media (except Facebook messenger and CZcams only) and I have the feeling of gaining more confidence and calmness compared to my friend who have 5+ social medias
