I'm naturally a soft talker and gentle, but being a medical student it requires me to be cut-glass quick and sharp. Otherwise people think you're stupid and walk all over you... sad.
+1
It isnt uniquely to mediacal students, where ever you go people will try to talk above you to win an argument. I also find loud people are the stupid people. Your better off cutting the conversation and moving on if you can, these types of people arent open for discussion. If its unavoidable, let them finish clear your throat and if they interrupt you tell them you allow them to talk and now its your turn and for them to listen. You are putting up boundaries and to repect you. A great example is what happen recently in Congress with banning Tik Tok. One of the politicians did not allow the Chinese representative to talk. Whenever the Chinese spoke a word, the politician kept saying "yes" every single time, every single word. Guess who looked bad here and who was more favorable plus if you let stupid people run their mouths they dig a deeper hole of idiocracy.
Something I have to work on as a preschool teacher, the children don't listen to me but listen to the other teacher I work with.
exactly, i think most part of time soft talker it's most to social improvement however into quick jobs it must be effective try to be more quiet and act more than words can do.
if you're a busy person, try small talk being soft or educate but straight of point very quickly effective^^
As said by His Holiness Maula Ali, “half of your beauty comes from the way you speak.”
It’s Ali رضي الله عنه
Not “Maula Ali”
Thank you for saying His Holiness Maula Ali! Infinite Peace be upon Hazrat Ali, Hazrat Muhammad, and Ahlul'beit! May Allah bless and protect you and grant your wishes!
Dear Sakina, may Hazrat Ali (infinite Peace be upon him) pray for you to Allah to be happy, healthy, and prosperous always!
So true
Could you please post this in Arabic or point me towards its direction? Thanks!
How to have a soft and elegant voice (translated from another comment):
- Breathe, the more relaxed your breathing is, the softer you will speak
+ Exercise, breaths with the diaphragm.
+ Breathing exercises (exhale, hold 15 seconds, inhale), do it 3 or 4 times.
- To be sitting and standing straight.
- Speak slowly, take pauses when you are speaking and be comfortable with silences.
+Try to read slowly.
- Enunciate the words, emphasize what you want to say
+ Practice with tongue twisters
- Use grammar when speaking (do not use slang, profanity, do not cut words)
- Expand your vocabulary (read books especially classic books or poetry)
- If you speak in a very high tone, practice whispering, but that another person can hear you.
-Drink water
- Loosens the mouth and vocal cords
+ Massage the vocal cords
- Record yourself speaking.
- Practice
Thank you for summarizing this ❤
Thanks for this comment! I can't listen to her doll/childish voice
Thanks
thank you so much.appreciate it
Take it from the most aggressive woman ever. One of my exes pointed out that my tone is very angry and loud. No one before him ever corrected me on this. I worked on my tone and conversation style and it helped massively in socializing and connecting with people. Also, men are blown away by soft voice and elegant tone as they find it seductive.
Thanks
Then again some mone like high pitch squeaky voice... kinda like a childs...
I'm trying really hard to correct it. But i am not able to control my aggressive behavior
Correct! Think "Jackie Kennedy"! She spoke very Softly & was very careful to keep her conversation centralized around the Person (generally men) she was conversing with. Not talking about herself, kept that Air of Mystery about her. She made them feel like what THEY had to say was suddenly the most interesting thing in the World. It gave her that Allure! I'm 73 & I was fortunate enough to always have a Voice with a Lower Octave. This allowed even Older Men ( usually my Relatives or even a date) enjoyed conversing with me bc not only could they hear me better bc I spoke with Clarity at a Lower Tone, but also bc I was precarious & was interested in the things that they'd done. Such as WWII Veterans talking to me about being a flagman on the runways in England or the Cowboys that worked for my Dad & the Horse Breeders he knew! Some were even Stunt Men for Movies & THAT was Interesting! One Summer I worked at the Local Court House & got to talk to the Sheriff, Deputies & Magistrate! A few of the Women I was Especially Fond of was a State Senator (who was also a local Rancher) An Artist, A few Teachers, an Author, a couple of Women were from Foreign Countries, Religious Leaders, ppl who'd Traveled etc. All were ready to talk & said I was easy to talk to bc I didn't "get up on that High Hysterical Excited Tone that alot of Girls/Adult Women talked on & I didn't always talk about myself"! I guess that's kind of a Secret Formula, if you want to know the Truth!
@@lth7023 thank you mam. Your advice is appreciated ❤
You are right silence is gold, people think that being soft talker is weak, they are very wrong! Thank you Jamila as always, you never failed to deliver what your viewers request/suggestions. I am very grateful that you are helping a lot of ladies/women bringing etiquette back to fashion.
In the case case of this woman she actually does sound weak, but that’s the least of her problems. She sounds unintelligent and goofy too, why is she whispering? Now one can be soft spoken and eloquent, my mother and father are great examples of that. It’s not the case for her.
@@marteumar8429 your soft spoken parents don't seem to have effectively imparted it to you that soft spoken doesn't just mean a soft voice lol
My best tips here are
Speaking slowly
Breathing
Enunciation
Posture
Im working effortlessly on them
Thank you
Thank you
1. bernafas dgn diafragma--sebelum speech
2. sit or stand straight
3. speak slower, silence is gold
5. volume-how u loud ur speak--speaking more slowly (for me)
6.enunciate word
7. proper grammar
8.expand vocab (classic book,poetry)
9. practice whispering voice (bisikan)
10. drinking water
11. relaks pita suara,mulut (yawn,mmm,massage)
12. recording yourself
Thanks
I needed to hear that tip about speaking more slowly. I often try to talk too fast and end up tripping over my words. I'm an introvert who doesn't like talking a lot in general, so I feel like I need to rush to get out what I have to say as quickly as possible. Definitely going to have to work on improving that.
same bro
Same problem
I’m the same! I think me talking fast also comes from insecurities and not wanting to truly hear my voice. English is also not my first language and I have an accent and since I live in a English speaking country, talking fast makes me incomprehensible 😅
Same problem
Same bruh
I think an approachable and nice voice is always needed because I personally get scared of really strong or loud voices and, on the contrary, when someone speaks softly I get less nervous and that helps me open up! On another note... I am VERY guilty of talking at the speed of sound, I'll definitely work on that! ;')
I’ve always had a naturally loud voice and as a woman I absolutely hate it!! Just another thing that’s wrong and unfeminine about me. People are always annoyed with me - I actually started working from home in part because I just felt so disruptive to everyone around me in the office even though it was never on purpose. I think people just underestimate how hard it is to be constantly policing your voice every time you speak, always worried that you are offending someone. It creates so much anxiety. I’m very self conscious of my voice. Be grateful if you have a soft voice, especially as a woman. People will like you better for it!
YOU are the perfect example of how to speak softly and elegantly.
Who smiles every time Jamila post a video ?! 🙌🏽🤍🥲 love this content 🤍
Your advices are so soft and sweet. They are just like you. Honestly I'm fan of yours. So, happy to find your channel a year back.
Needed this video as I am very direct and tend to speak in a way that may sound harsh even though my intentions are always good. I will practice speaking in a softer, calmer, slower manner like you do. Ideally, I would also speak less. Not every opinion or remark needs to be verbalized!
I need to work on the same. All the best to both of us!
This is so interesting, I’ve never thought about softness as a quality to consider with speaking. Thanks for the tips!
Fabulous class! Thank you Jamila.
In my opinion, this is the best video from yours! Regardless to say that all your videos have such a value. You are a great teacher. Thank you, 💐
Adoro tu voz.
- Estar sentado y parado derecho.
Gracias

Jamila , really the right person giving this advice, you have such a lovely speech and demeanor. Thank you so much
Thank you very much dear Jamila. I greatly appreciate this video as many others. Be blessed
I wouldn't say my voice is soft but it's definitely clear, loud enough to be audible (not whispery lol) and confident. I feel my best when I speak this way. In my career as a physician this manner of speaking serves me well because it evokes confidence from my patients and their families.
I am learning voice acting. And one of the things I have to work on is the rytham and volume of my speech. This was very helpful thanks!
Thank you so much for those valuable tips!
I love to listen to the way you speak.
I want to be polite and soft speaking like you.
For me, the more important things are: clarity, gentleness, and smoothness. These three things, to me, make a voice elegant. Then I, of course, prefer a deeper voice; if a person has those 3 things, their voice is pleasant even if it's not deep. And naturally, vocabulary is most important when it comes to elegance in speech.
I've been looking for a video like this, thank you!
"Silence is gold" and "practice whisper" are two lessons i love in this eposide. Thanks for taking time to do this for us. ♥
Once again, very useful advice! Thank you!
Thank you Jamila
I'm a Voice Coach and I usually focus on these areas of work in my training sessions. Thank you, Jamila, for reiterating it. Well explained! ❤
can you practice me please 🥹🥹
So if I speak with energy will I seem bad?
@@user-pm9ei6mz6c Hey not at all. Energy in your voice can be extremely beneficial. It's called the Pitch of the Voice. You require energy when you speak, else people wouldn't want to listen. However, we can regulate it in contexts.
@@yourhealingjourney9824 hey! Thanks!
I need a voice coach in austin
I love your content about speaking and I learned so much from you🦋
Hi Jamila! Thank you so much for this video. This is definitely something I need to improve. :)
Jamila your voice is very very soothing when u started your new channel I saw your video 1st thing which is attracted your voice along with calm and slowly which makes my mind soo relax. I also played your video at night time before going to sleeep and listening your voice seriously I sleep comfortably with your voice. Your voice is rare ❤️❤️
This video is very helpful! Thank you so much for making it!!
By default I have been recording myself reading books because my son has a processing delay in retaining information from texts. It also has helped me to slow my speech down because by doing this we are expanding his vocabulary because his processing speed causes him anxiety and unfortunately "hatred" to reading books. His improvement is slow, but I have noticed better spelling, better word choices, larger words and just better writing in general from him. In a way having to do the recordings has improved both of our handicaps.
Thank you very much. I was really looking forward to this video as I keep following you particularly because of your way of speaking. Not to say that soft and elegant voice makes you confident, but also it give you power to control the conversation and feelings of oneself. I have always admired people with such voice features. As I lecture a large group of students, I got used to the high pitched volume of voice, but on daily basis I don't feel comfortable with that, sometimes I even feel insecure. I even tried imitate the way you speak, but this video was indeed a must- have. Thank you very much. I really appreciate the hard work you are doing to create these contents😊
Loved the video! 😄❤️
your voice is so soft, it feels as if its the melody of nature mixed with calmness of water
Dear Jamila, thank you so much for this lovely video. It is so helpful, wonderful!
Hey Jamila! Thank you so much for this video!💖 Can you please make a Part-2 of how we can effectively study for academics?
Men would benefit from this more than anyone 😊
it will be very helpful for me. Thank you Jamila Ma'am for this video.

it is one of the best video I've ever watched 😍
thank you so much for this very interresting video
I wanted to learn this thank you
What an amazing channel to stumble upon! From one creator to another great work!
This is so true about physiological structure. I'm naturally a soft spoken speaker till tides came my way in life and did affect my health and I lost my voice for a week, and back to being a soft spoken speaker now due to this as that's how my body is structured to be.
I really admire your work, thank you for your videos. Could you give us some tips on how to be more aware of ourselves?
We are waiting eagerly ✨
Hi Jamila
Thank you for sharing tips on how to talk elegantly and more softly 🌸🌸🌷❤️❤️
So glad I found you! I do not like my voice! I speak too loud and am aware of it so I am working on it . This is my main concern.- volume. Part of the issue is I have a low voice for a female and it is hard for me to hear. I don't over talk - I get to the pint and try to make it clear and interesting. I concentrate on listening more and talking less. This way the communication is better. A LOUD voice is not good so therefor I am really working on this. Thank you to Jamila!
Great tips!
Really loved your video as always, can you please make a video on classy elegant watche etiquette? It would be really helpful!❤️
I thoroughly appreciate this very helpful video I must confess that I am guilty of some of the habits that prevent me from being a soft-spoken elegant speaker however your tips and techniques has provided me with ways to improve thus becoming a more conscientious speaker thanks!
Wonderful video. This is definitely a lost art. I find myself doing just the opposite of this at work because everyone is so loud. Thank you for this reminder.
I just realized your dress, tea cup set and the flower are sharing matched pattern / color ✨
Greetings!
Thanks for your all help!❤
I love this channel ✨
I didnt comment this in other videos but i love how inclusive your content is. So many other channels make me feel unseen as someone with autism or a person of color i feel my cultural aspects are unseen too! Thank you for giving suggestions on eyesight specifically!! Other channels just insist that not giving eye contact is a pet peeve and leave it there not considering people with autism so thank you for actually giving tips on how to make eye contact even with autism.
The first update I
Well Explained, Thank u Jamila for your guidance😊
Thank you.
Great tips, thank you. :)
God be with her. 💪
Well done
please share more videos this is really helpful
This is so helpful for me. Actually, I'm not a good speaker. My voice always goes on top of my lungs, and people always think that i argue. I will make sure to practice these tips by myself. And I will make sure to speak politely and softly. Thank you❤
Thank you
Very useful 10 tips. Really a nice session. 🙂.
Thanks a lot .Hopefully I could incorporate these beautiful habits. You are so graceful.
I learned some new things. That is what I also require of myself, even though I knew some of your good points of view. However, I am going to add to my daily bases some helpful advice you have given us. I like some words EX, silence is gold, you are the best teacher for you -self absolutely right.
Thanks for the video, i really enjoy it
You are Brava Jamila. Thank you for your Videos.
Thank you very much, Jamila. Watching your videos is truly a delight.
Glad you like them!
Everytime I watch one of your videos I realize how much of a palooka I am.
🌹🌹🌹Thank you, Jamila! 🌹🌹🌹
you are welcome
Ny natural speech is quick and very bubbly, great when someone needs positive energy or enthusiasm, but is far from ideal in most professional situations. Working on improving my ability to speak slow and elegantly has led to senior management taking my suggestions into consideration more frequently. Speaking slow and clear when being interrupted is by far the best strategy to being heard, do not raise voice and engage in screaming battles.
Very wonderful lesson mam and happy women's day to you ☺️
I keep smiling the whole video.
😇
Along time ago, when I was in toastmasters, we were taught not to wear lots of jewelry, especially if your earrings or bracelets made lots of noise. It distracts from the speaker. Thank you for the superb video! You are a blessing!
Hey Jamila. Like always, it is a delight to hear you talk. But my question is out of context.
May I please know where did you get this cup on the table? I am loving it. Thanks for the amazing content as always 💕
tnxxx a million 🥰🥰🥰🥰for suggestion 😇😇
I’m big and loud, but I want to work on this for sure! Thank you for the video.
Thank you for this video!
You are so welcome!
I have found that as my kids have gotten older my tone has changed to be more stern and louder. This is just what I needed. A gentle answer turns away wrath! (Esp with teenagers) 😊
Fan of your voice ma'am ❤❤❤❤
Dear Jamila, thank you for this video. I love your voice tone because is so soothing and relaxing that I wondered how can we achieve it. Thank you again for this tips and greetings from Venezuela💐
This is yet more confirmation that I need to learn to slow down when I speak. Anxiety makes me rush, rushing makes me stumble, and stumbling makes me anxious. It's a vicious cycle of my own making. Even speaking in my head I stumble over my own words. And practice is so important. Due to life circumstances nowadays I speak a lot less, I spend days in a row where I don't speak at all, and after months my diction is considerably worse, which compounds on the aforementioned anxiety. Lack of practice can make you regress your speech, as I'm finding out. If only I were the kind to speak to myself 😆 Jokes aside, my clarity needs work, even if I don't intend to sound like the Queen.
