- Apex Legends In New Danger As EA Fires Respawn Teams as Electronic Arts (EA) announced company-wide layoffs impacting roughly 5% of its workforce, translating to around 670 employees. This included layoffs at Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind the popular game Apex Legends. The exact number of Respawn employees laid off is unconfirmed, with reports suggesting around 23 positions were affected. Some of those let go included long-time developers who had been with the Apex Legends team since the game's launch

They didn't fire the people responsible for making sure the game runs well because the game has run like shit for 5 years.
Ea is literally asking for the game to break with the amount of layoffs there have been, idk what they’re expecting when they fire the people that make sure the game runs well
Worst thing is there using AI for this that is no where near ready, the engine cant handle the AI, LoL I was an old QA tester.

I used to work as a QA tester for triple A games. Out of a team of 50 maybe 5 actually did anything.
Just about all of us got paid minimum wage and we were WFH so we would just play games on our personal computers.
I don't blame game companies for firing QA testers, they're useless for the grand part.
I miss when I could feel good about playing this game, would love to see some other studio buy respawn
and actually wants to see Apex grow and be good. Instead of trying to milk it over a year
All the big studios are just as bad as EA. So I don't know if it would be any different .

Apex has never run in a good state in the last 5 years and it was only acceptable at first launch because the game was new. Respawn sets the MTX prices. At what point will any of the hopeless clowns admit Respawn is the problem?
EA will milk this game dry in one year and apex legends will be something of the past. I would love to see this game go for years but the way EA is handling things i dont think apex will last much longer.

The community proved that they don't need a QA team. Y'all continue to make content about the game helping bring players and sales. Cosmetics continue to be bought so why wouldn't they do it again

I have not spen a cent, but I like the game, and do not see anything remotely similar. So, yeah annoying as heck all the shit that's happening, but game is still fun and amazing... And would love for it to not disappear.
Why keep the QA team when they just use us as the QA testers? I mean that seems to be what they've been doing anyway. They drop an update then wait for us to complain about bugs and glitches then go back in an try to fix them then drop another update and wait for our response.

The servers and game were ass when they had tons of staff. Perhaps someone else will realize insufficient staffing has never been the problem.

EA dosent care about the game at all. The only thing there doing is making sure its playable fore the most part so they can keep adding events that cost crazy prices. I think if everyone for a season didn't buy the shit or play the game, EA will realize they need to do something or lose potentially millions. Or the worst outcome they will just not give a crap shut down respawn and apex all together.
They should give us more packs now💀

It's the same with what they did with planet side 2 , the hoped it up, took the freedom away from the dev team, fired a lot of staff then sold the game off once they milked it dry, thankfully the new devs did a way better job than ea eve did

Respawn literally got the worst investors, EA literally shut down Apex Mobile, there were literally 6 more Mobile Exclusive legends in works and there were also mentions of Valkyrie Rampart and Fuse and Wattson in game files

@sahilmatta1942 When I was a child I found a bag filled with quarters. I took those quarters to an arcade and I binged on one game. The next thing I knew, the quarters were gone and I hadn't played any of the other games. I cried over those quarters and how I wouldn't be able to play the other games, I even tried to get the quarters back because I thought that it wasn't fair but they were gone, forever.
I learned a valuable lesson about money that day.

I stopped playing Apex a few months ago. Been playing since Season 0. I turned it on about 3 weeks ago, with the new changes and I just couldn't get back into it. I personally hate the changes but if people love 'em then that's good for them. I definitely miss it.
Day one player. The new changes make the game better than it’s ever been. All of the legends are usable and gun play feels great. If you’re blinded by nostalgia you’ll never appreciate the better things in life.

Ever since the tester lay offs I haven't experienced a single bug that has occurred, however, I have received 8 free packs for nothing, personally for me, these lay offs have been an absolute steal!

We as a community of gamers have been reminded over 10 years about microtransactions, Live service games, and the state of triple A companies, but we will keep biting the bait out of desperation. Its sad to say kids these days wont ever get the real golden age of gaming when they used to put love and soul into games. Hell, even Fifa used to be good, now everything is about the least amount of effort for the most pay off.

It suck’s that Respawn’s integrity is being compromised by a big bully corporation that’s on their next trending money grab hype train. They slid right under all of our noses even though we saw their evil grin from the start.
What also sucks is that this situation looks like an abusive romantic relationship, where Respawn knows and wants what’s best for their community while saving their reputation they’ve legitimately built from the ground up. Respawn wants to leave this relationship because they know what’s best for them but they’re stuck with EA now because too much has been invested and intertwined, so EA promises that they love Respawn and will never hurt them again then ask Respawn for some money in exchange for a hug and a kiss (the light way of putting it)

Ill be honest, the universal heirloom is a great idea, and the interchangeable parts idea is really cool, i just wish EA wasnt so greedy, and more people could afford to buy this cool content that Respawn has developed.
Just came back to the game from losing my progression to cross progression, then the game has been so broken lately so I am losing my motivation more and more for this game. I enjoy it but it sucks constantly having things I earn or get in this game being taken away
So here’s my problem, there would never be enough sales. I don’t buy stuff on the game, but I would if I thought it would secure a future. But it’ll never be enough. If every player spent a million dollars this year, we would be expected to spend 1.5 million next year. And if we fall short they axe the game. That’s just how I see it though.

I hate how it almost feels dirty playing this game but it's so addicting.
I refuse to spend money on this game because the wrighting is on the wall. EA doesn't just want money they wanna constantly make more money and at continued rate and when they exhaust the player base in this game of resources or it their profits start dipping and they will drop this game faster then you can think.
This is the same exact issues everyone is dealing with in every industry where employers constantly expect to make more money while paying less to employees and if they start falling behind they can lay of a entire section of workers at any moments notice then rehire down the road at reduced wages.
