It’s a shame they didn’t just finish off all legend heirlooms before moving to katar. They only had a few legends left.
Wouldnt make sense, there will be new legends in the future and they wont have heirlooms unless you mean they make a heirloom for every new legend they add in the future

@@Kyoshi272 because most people won’t get 2 heirlooms on their account while they play the game.. so why not move to universal and incentivize people to actually pay for the events to be able to have an heirloom on every character they play.

I already have three heirlooms so personally I’ll get the katar but they shouldn’t scrap heirlooms especially bc they have the Newcastle heirloom done already

what they are doing for ads is putting billboards on the maps that advertise products, which i wouldnt mind personally. but if they are doing 30 second vids im out

@@matsderoos516 Depends on the ad style chosen. If they did like Twitch and CZcams and interrupt gameplay with a multiple minute advertisement, then no. However, look at Hollywood they actually get paid for having Taco Bell in camera focus in the background, or a pepsi bottle in someone's hand etc. So for example if a game like GTA added real brands around the city it would actually work in their favor of being more realistic.
Also, the reason Call of Duty and basically every FPS game doesn't use the proper names for guns is because the trademarks and copyright laws. In that vain, if we could get more of the accurate names, models, and so on being used then the games would actually be better and they'd be getting paid for it.

Another of us are getting very angry with EA and respawn. I love apex but they have ruined it. I play but I will no longer buy anything from them.

We are… but we can’t do nothing… they don’t listen to us, nor would they give a fuck even if they did listen. We could boycott the game, but we all know that there’s the people who would still be playing so it really wouldn’t do much. We’re talking about a billion dollar corporation that has fired 70% of the games workers… they don’t care…

If Alter ever gets an heirloom, I would love an animation where pulls out another legends heirloom then toss it away. Heck It would be cooler if she was the only character in the whole game that can use everyone’s heirloom but in her color, that’s the only way I’d pay for $200. I think it’s way over priced still but every heirloom is around that price
its sad to see legend specific heirlooms getting scrapped they were unique hope they bring them back

The thing with the new currency is to trick players about prices. remember the peacekeeper collection event, the backlash that respawn took for one gun skin. This move might be a way to introduce this type of monetization without angering players.

Same here. I’ve played him since the day this game came out and have made it my mission to buy all of his skins. So apex putting a mid skin behind apex packs (that can cost 10$ a pack) really sucks. I legit had to buy the whole thing just to get the skin
I have not and will never spend any money on Apex. I don't understand the vanity of spending real money on electrons on a monitor that does nothing to effect the game 🤦♂️
They make it to hard to get heirloom shards for free. I’ve played for years and still haven’t gotten one.

I just got my 1st heirloom a few months ago and I started playing this game back in late 2019.
I hope you get yours earlier than mine, cuz this game is really stingy when it comes to those elusive shards.

Got it at 1120h gameplay, buying the battle passes only without paying real money only earning/saving up ingame.
Bro I'm calling cap. Been playing since season 8. From season 10-18 and my heirloom shards dropped right before Fuse got his.
If you have been playing every single event that gives out free packs, along with finishing the BP and the treasure packs from every season, you should have gotten at least one set. Most I've spent on packs was with the "free kraber" and "salty" holospray bundles at those were 10 each, to also get 10 backs plus the spray.

I really hope that they stop making collcetion events with prestige skins and such and make them all with character heirlooms for those that dont have a single non universal heirloom, also milestone events are stupid
Yea same. I didn’t like the universal heirlooms so I haven’t gotten any especially with the whole customize your heirloom is just another one to get people to spend more money. Kinda trashy in my opinion
Its crazy how they want more money but instead of investing in better servers so the game is more attractive to potential new players, they lay off one of their QA teams leading to the opposite.
Respawn/EA doesn't even hide that they don't care about the player base anymore. We're no longer players, we're just customers now.

I was disappointed during the colbat katar event when I couldn't buy the lifeline skin with crafting materials, one of my favorite skins I've seen for her that I would have had to gamble for. I hope they change it back to the previous way soon.
Started again 265packs opened still nothing I personally think that just put the drop rate after 400opened

Honestly it's EA we are talking about they're going to Kirby any monetary value they can more than likely they are going to take a break from heirlooms to distract us and go right back that's millions of dollars chilling on the table.

devs already understood that players save crafting materials to be able to buy these event skins, so they got around this so that we are forced to buy, but now flatline skin costs 40$ but don't forget that in the past they sold a peacekeaper for 160$ lol

i dont know what to do,i had 950 apex coins in my account saved up for the battlepass but now i log on and see 300,im not famour enough to get respawns or EA's attention,this just pisses me off
The problem as to way more people aren't buying the normal heirlooms is because it is overpriced for most people if they were to reduce the price of heirlooms to say 250 or 200 guarantee then more people would be paying for it. An example of this is valorant where you can buy the different cosmetics such as a sword or a new dagger and people have no problem paying for it. If they just simply reduced the price for guaranteed heirlooms then they would get money and be in the good graces of the community

I used to hate the Katar but after I got one, I love it.
With those new shards I can finally get a reactive skin, I am one of the people who got the NO GIFTING glitch with that Breakout event.

04:07 Because sir, some of us have stockpiled Apex Coins, essentially for free by completing the battle passes over the years. Had you purchased the first battle pass, you could have earned enough Apex coins to purchase the next battle pass and some extra. While others could have just purchased Apex Coins on sale. There is no business sense in allowing players to use what they already have for something totally new and cool. When you could force players to purchase a "newer" product in the form of a new currency. If you think about it in terms of a business, it makes perfect sense.

Honestly, anybody who actually got packs (even the 100 Apex coin pack) during the last event where they applied the gambling monetization strategy is attributable to this outcome. They wanted to see how people would respond and now they know they can do it. And even if you acquired those coins for free they see they can drain your free resources via this method to coerce you into buying more coins granting them more revenue. The probabilities of those packs in the early stages suggest you are most likely gonna get a poopy purple holo or sticker which for $1 is still not worth it. So do I think the company is in the wrong, absolutely but understand it wouldn't be this way if consumer behavior was different so if you are a consumer think very carefully when spending your money as it may dictate the future of how something is monetized.
It’s really weird to me that they didn’t give every legend an heirloom and just moved on to katars like if they want to monetize the game so much I think the rest of the heirlooms are kind of missed opportunities for now

I think the katar gets so much hate because its really hard to get heirloom shards if you dont spend a load of money on the game and when ppl finally got there shards they got an heirloom they wanted and then there suddenly appear an heirloom weapon you can use with all legends and and they know that they probably will have to open another 500 apex packa to be able to get it. If we hade got the katar before the other heirlooms i dont think it would have been a problem and giving the lore about the katar it should have been first.
They should have more personalized things for more characters to give the story more depth
I think if they're going to do these "pack only" events, they should only be the size of this one. Also you shouldn't ever be able to get non-event legendary items through event packs, ever. All other collection events should be the way they've always been.

I really love seeing prestige skins codes being added to the files, it's simply shameful that they contain sky dive trails and for me and thousands of players who have the first 4 prestige skins not to have 1 sky dive trails, devs have time to create new prestige skins with sky dive trails but I don't have time to create those that have already been sold, I'm a collector and player and regarding this I feel totally disappointed as there is no dev or supervisor who talks about this to the community

The whole reason they had to make a new currency is that they already give away apex coins in the battlepass and they dont want players to be able to buy these new things without spending more money than just buying the battlepass and if they were selling these items with the apex coins they wud end up being like 8000 apex coins. They have learned that players will just save crafting materials and coins to buy one or two items a collection event that they like and EA duznt like that. They are only offering 10 of the exotic shards in each battle pass so ea is hoping that no one wants to wait thru 5 battle passes to get one recolor. for me this just means im going to spend less money
