You can make $1 million being a tradesmen and you can trade that million to buy assets that pay You to own them. This video is to encourage young men and women and older men and women to get into the trades. And invest wisely.

It’s important to go to welding school but it is more important to learn how to weld. It doesn’t matter what you do just practice and keep practicing. Nobody can hold your hand. It’s up to you. American Welding Society! Welding schools!

Thank God a guy who's saying what I have for years..college not for everyone..but trades should be...
Great video. SO MANY trades people don't know the difference between assets and liabilities. School's just train you to be obedient worker drones. They want you broke. Thanks for spreading the good word.
You need to mention working for someone as a welder in a shop pays peanuts. You need to work for yourself to make good money welding. Most welders working in a shop make less than $20hr.
I left welding in a shop 6 months ago and started my own business. Best decision I've made
No doubt there but you have to learn first .
Grandpa did trucking dad did roofing I’m his first son to do welding and I’m proud of it
Thank you for the valuable info. I'm 20 years old in welding school and I think this is exactly what I needed to hear.
Good deal nick ! Your the kind of guy I’m after. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you sir, I do have a question. The class I’m in is teaching the basics on all the types of welding. Would you recommend any particular field or type of welding for someone like me to get into? I’m interested in stick and pipe because of how versatile it is and the money you can make.
There’s fabrication shops, manufacturing shops and in the field welding. Manufacturing usually pays the lowest although lots of overtime, you’ll probably have pre-made parts and do a lot of welding. Fab shops are usually smaller, they may pay really good or not. Depends on how they do with their business and what you’re capable of. You may not be welding as much because there’s a lot of other work to be done within the job. In the field welding usually pays the best because of the travel pay. Some people love it. Others just want to be home. There are trade offs to all.
OMG I wish I learned what you were learning at 20! You legit could retire a multi-millionaire by 30 if you follow this guys advice. Learn about money and learn to spot trends early.
I am the Gage that you’re talking about, I finished up high school and enrolled in trade school. Now I weld every day and love every minute of it
I’m 38 and wish I a could do this. I have a certificate in MIG, TIG, and stick from trade school, but never pursued a job in it.
Hey brother, love the content. I’m just a junk welder 😆 thanks for the tips
That’s cool. Least you can weld
You weld some big junk though, and I’ve learned a lot watching you weld that junk.
I watch your videos all the time man, I aspire to do what your doing! Keep them coming man
@@brianwoodard6431 I will
I wish I would have started welding when I was in my early 20's. But I learned another good trade tractor trailer repair. That's when I learned how to weld, fixing trailers
I wish a lot of things. But wish in one hand and 💩 in the other lol. Sounds like you’ve done pretty good for yourself.
Debt is dumb, Cash is king. Make money by working (welding or whatever) and budget to save, spend to survive, invest in your future, and when the investments and savings are flush, you're the King. Limit the playthings and vacations until you've got some money accumulated (no consumer debt). Then you can do what you like with the rest of your days. It's a great lesson but only learned late by most.
Thanks for encouraging young kids! It was great to meet you in Dallas and share our stories.
Your videos on finances, truth and learning a trade are what our youth need. Thanks Chris! You’re making a difference!
It was great meeting you kristi !
Thanks for telling me that it helps a ton
Thanks sir, I am a welder in Trinidad, however this country has no welding opportunities, however you must keep going forward, thanks again brother blessed.
This guys is very wise, if u start saving in your 20’a instead of your 30’s ur adding like 700k to a mil to ur retirement
No one gonna talk about how smooth his restarts are? Amazing!
Thank you for the video Chris. It was great meeting you in Dallas. I’ve shared the video with my son Gage. Keep doing what you are doing, you and ninja nation are making a difference. We are listening and thanks for waking us up. Without you, we wouldn’t comprehend what is happening in the world. #preparednotscared
Thanks for sharing that with me! It Means a lot!
Makes it worth the effort
@@TaylorWeldingis it only pipeline and what about trucking
killing it brother thats what the MEN and WOMEN need to hear its right in front of them show up shut up and produce
BOOM! Thank you YH
Thanks for the videos man, I just discovered your channel and have learned a ton already! I'm a 41 year old fab shop guy that aspires to have my own rig and do what your doing. Keep them coming please!
Absolutely ! I will … thanks for watching Brian. Ask any questions I will make u a video
Jose is legendary for that inside the pipe view!
😆 that’s funny
Thank you!!
Dude, you hit the nail on the head. We need to get more young people getting there hands dirty!! We are hurting in my part of the country for any trades people. And the was one great looking cap pass!!!
Thank you. Roll outs make anyone look good 👍 thanks for watching & commenting
Which state(s) do you mean? I heard Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan needed more welders. I'm thinking about buying land but taking this into account as well.
That’s some real good stuff brother. These young guys need this kind of advice. Great video!
Thanks Jordan!
Just found your channel and you now have another sub. You give great advice that our younger generation needs to hear. 🍻 Keep it up my man.
Thanks Nick. It’s hard to reach the young guys. I’ve got a few on here so far
I watch this video every day on my way to welding school.
I have a long way to go, but I hope I can get to a similar point where you are when im older.
That’s cool brother. Keep your head down and don’t stop. Don’t listen to the naysayers make the most of your time when you’re young and you can retire before you’re 40 anybody that says different tell them to come talk to me I can prove it.
I just found this channel, have been watching a few videos but man am I glad I did! This is exactly what I tell my buddies at work, they just want to party and buy expensive liabilities. I have to show them this video to drive the point home! Good stuff!
They probably won’t like it lol. Most everybody’s like that buddy thanks for watching and commenting
I'm in welding school in Tallahassee now and I'm loving it. Working on 7018 weave now and I can't wait to get to work and get out in the field but I'm not rushing because I actually want to learn the entirety of this trade that way by the time I go into the field I've got plenty of experience and confidence in my work.
Good deal Brian if you have any questions please ask
Just found your channel and love it. Finally a down to earth straight talker. great content that really needs to be heard for many people young and old. I am 56 years young from Oklahoma been welding since I was 16 for money that is. Seems like most of the welder channels out now days are more like trying to watch a rap show. glad to have found you on here keep up the good work. Durwyn
thank you. I know exactly what you mean.
Great video
Awesome Videos brother!! I will most definitely be tapping in
Cool! Glad you’re here!
Welding in Wyoming work is getting inconsistent lately but I am starting to get more side work which is good really like the content and your perspective on making money work for you looking forward to more videos
Thanks for watching and commenting. You might have to come south for steadier work
Man, how true is your statement about not buying stupid stuff. Wish I'd saved all the money I spent on stupid stuff. I could be a millionaire right now, but alas, I was young and stupid.
Lol! Don’t we all. At least you’re awake now! Better late than never. I wish I would’ve started sooner as well
I really respect your words and what you do. I wish someone would have taught me a trade when I was young. I'm feeling like a piece of crap right now.
Why?
This is the pipeliner welder we need.
Wow Ken … I’m not a pipeliner . I’ve made most my living with a tap measure, 📐, & fitting skills. I never really liked pipelines.
Now more than ever my Daddy needs to teach me how to weld! He won't....I may have to come to you and learn.
Just what I needed to hear
Good deal
Ha nice I should have come seen you and the ninja when you were in Vegas. I did try but didn't work out. I can weld (mig, tig). Been thinking about starting my own business.
I love it. Thank you.
Absolutely thank you dude
U just said everything I m planing to do and I just turn 22 and I m a combo welder , I m working on to Rig out soon , I have a truck and machine everything to rig out just need a bit more tools lil nick n piks, just looking for an opportunity with my connections
Awesome advice!!
Thanks Andrew
Nice video work Jose!
JOSE is the bomb
Passive income brother. Good looking cap btw.
Great advise like your channel , wish I would of met you when I started pipe welding
Thank you would’ve helped me a lot as well
Great video. Earned a new sub
Thanks brother!
Talyor . I agree I have been watching you for A few months . I work in trade it's machining . My welding is just bandaids and glueing. I have been in the trade since I was 22 I'm now 34 . I'm not rich . But I'm paying more attention to what your saying .. he really touched on something when you said you was talking about being dyslexic you know like in school I always thought people that would dislike sick or had ADHD was going to turn out to be nothing in life and some of us have found how to take our disability is we can put it into more creative jobs like the trades you know you have hung your skill and able to make the living you need I want something about being dyslexic or having ADHD that helps with the trades because you're very focused you're very driven you want to learn this it's something you can do with your hands maybe you should make a video about that you hit it on a little bit on this one but like myself you know I had to overcome my problems with learning and stuff like that because I knew I wasn't never going to be a book guy you know I went to college to be a gunsmith done that for a while and decided I was going to get into machining and I've been in it ever since now at 34 years old I'm wanting to change careers and going to HVAC our maintenance because it has the best of everything welding machining electrical now kind of like a mill wright . you know there's a lot of people out here paying attention to you and thank you.
Man … thank you for that thought out bad ass comment! I struggled in school that’s for sure. And I’m gonna talk about Being dyslexic a little bit more. The truth is 70% of dyslexic people are millionaires. Who du thunk it! Lol
It’s a gift. I knew good and well I was not going to be a book guy. That was probably the hardest part about me getting through school is knowing I was not going to use 70% of the crap they were trying to teach me. Machining is an awesome craft. They are underpaid in my opinion. Good to know you brother.
@@TaylorWelding . I seen you lathe and mill . You have any questions I would be more than happy to help . They dyslexic and ADHD gives us a way to see things in a different light I guess it uses a different part of our brain what I've been told but like some people do say it's a gift Taylor you keep it up I can only strive to take the words and the knowledge that you have to help me better because I'm not giving up I've screwed up big time I've had some big money and crap like that and blew it away but I never was a materialistic person a lot like the way you are you know I didn't invest it and wisely but I didn't buy a new pickups or new TVs or game consoles or crap like that I put it in the tools from my job and I did help my family out you know and that's something you know we all struggle with that helping family out or friends but you know like you say it's All about Us wanting to be financial independent like old Dave Ramsey says.
Nice !!
Thank you Owen
I was wondering what the basic equipment you would need to break out as a fresh single hand?
Really enjoying these videos. Been wanting to get into welding for a few years now but just haven't jumped in yet. Do you think the best way is to go through trade school or just buy welding equipment, watch CZcams videos, and get your hands dirty?
Both… trade school will straighten the learning curve a little bit. Maybe be a welder‘s helper for a while. Just get started. It’ll come to you
Where did you get the Star Wars welding cap that you’re wearing from?!
Very good advice brother, but you burned my eyes. 🤣
Lol !
Thanks for sharing. I really like the way you explain things. It isn’t rocket science. It’s just a different way of thinking that took me 28 years to discover. The struggle was real, it was humbling, but it was God’s path for me. I had to figure it out the hard way.
Also, when I did plumbing, I remember my boss telling me, it’s called a trade because back in the day people used to “trade” their skills within the community to built the community. Everyone had a different trade/skill.
Awesome video.
Thanks. I think we’re going to get back to trading skills for Goods. Are you still traveling around.?
@@TaylorWelding I agree. Yes, plans came to a screeching halt a month ago. Hope to resume traveling soon though.
Hey Taylor, love your content in this video and if you ever come to Dallas I’d love to meet you. I just started my welding career and would love to know how to advance my career to get to where you are.
I always like meeting people in person. I’m never in Dallas except for the occasional flight.
Great video! I think you can have both the toys and the income properties if you play your cards right. I'm in the boilermaker union and we have guys die with millions of dollars to their name all the time 1-3 years after they collect their pension. They spend their entire life working and making money but never take the time to sit back and enjoy any of it.
That’s so sad
Very uniform welds. Good job man.
Thank you Robert
@@TaylorWelding You're welcome my man.
Welding at a fab shop, if they see me practicing on pipe I’m getting fired. What do I do? Thank you for your time.
Can you do a video on tips to get more welding jobs.
That seems to be the hardest part for my business.
I’ve never really done individual welding jobs. I’ve always welded through different companies that had plenty of jobs.
Show more of your scrap yard
Ok
Hey Chris 😊❗️
Love this video. I’m a very young 61 years old But I would really like to learn how to weld. Just for fun and making things that I can create. Hope that you’re having a great time in Mexico 🇲🇽 with the Ninja and J.B.
Would love to hang out with you and learn this trade.
Blessings, Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊❗️
It’s never too late Carlos
Being humble is always best
what is this "retire" you speak of ? Thanks for turning into a valuable teacher!
Lol thanks man that means a lot. I’ll never truly retire but I would like to get out from under the hood.
@@TaylorWelding honestly brother, you and everyone I know in biz rn. It's the bizarrest thing I've ever witnessed...but I guess I'm only 33. I can feeeeeeel / seeeee the economy shrinking. I envision the growth of a city or or any economy as a pulsating slime mold type of growth and retraction and greater growth...until something causes a collapse. Or a retratcion and channeling outward in search of better resource flows elsewhere... lots to learn yet from the Fungi Kingdom. Maybe Economical Biology, or vice versa would make a good masters thesis for some young nerd
For you young dudes. If you want to be a welder, go for it. I listened to idiots and didn’t follow my heart. I’m 52 years old and miserable in my current job. That misery flows onto life and it’s difficult to be positive in all facets of life. Don’t be me guys.
I regret every time I didn’t follow my gut
Great video just subscribed if it aint making you money its costing you money
Thanks Robert! So true
Hey! What state are you located in? I'm a welder in PA but want to move south. You know of any specific job openings in your area? My big hang up is finding a job that will work with me (save the open position) while I make the big move south (sell my house and look for another). I've welded smaw & gmaw. The last 4 years been aluminum welding at a truck body manufacturer. Before that I welded steel at a John Deere plant in Iowa.
I don’t really know of anything. I know they’re out there but I’m out of the loop. It would be a rig welding job for pipe if I found something
Thanks! I know the jobs are out there, just got to find the right one.
Side question I’ve always had. See a lot of Americans rolling pipe with small rods.. are you guys typical not allowed 5mm and 6mm 7018?
I’d normally run a few 1/8” 6010’root, 3/16 7018 hot pass and a 1/4” 7018 cap on a 8” std weld.
The reason I don’t use bigger rods is because we cannot have any Parosity. Bigger the rods bigger the problems. And it’s hard on my leads and welding machine.
@@TaylorWelding fair, it’s pretty typical to burn 6mm 7018 here in the field. Usually have shorter fab leads so I don’t run through my reels, always run 2/0 cable. Ole pipe pro rarely leaves porosity 🤘
What do you charge for consultations ? I still don’t know where the big money is in welding
I don’t know. Just ask your questions here.
I’m about to loose my house from divorcing my soon to be ex narcissistic adulterous wife.
The only good thing about that situation is that I intent on investing that money- which I’ll actually make money- surprisingly. Do I want to loose my house hell no, but, at least I can invest it into me and my daughters future.
Sorry Eli that sucks. I’m glad you did that with some money though.
Wish all other u tube welders could force feed some humble pie ,really like your videos
I appreciate that!
I retired at 54 by welding
That’s awesome Gomer! I’d say that’s a job well done. Welders only got so many years. I work with guys all the time that are losing their eyesight. Used to be great welders now they just can’t see. But they weren’t good with money so they have to work till they’re dead. Sad
How you liking that vantage my brother in the hood?
It’s my second .one I love it!
can you do a more in-depth video on passive things that pay you

Do you consider cdl drivers a trade in the future
I would think self driving trucks are gonna be something that’s gonna take a lot of jobs
But with that said we’re years away from there
@@TaylorWelding then I think I'm still going to learn more..remember knowledge is power
Can one become a master welder in less than 15 thousand hours which is 1 yr 7 months and you keep goal oriented and focused on being great in less than 3 yrs ?
I would say it depends on the person. And the environment they are absorbing experience from. Maybe
Assets pay for liabilities.
What is retirement age average?
lol! That depends on you dude!
Is 30 still valid to join the welding trade
Heck yeah
There is rich dad, poor dad and there is welding dad xD
Welding Dad XD ?
Buy assets and rent liabilities 👍🏻
I don’t know about that. I’m not big on renting anything
Thank you for watching and commenting Steve
You didn't clean the weld in between passes?🤯
Of course I did
Did you want to see more weld cleaning in the video?
Im an old man. Should I start welding or is it to the gallows with me?
Lol!
Do you need a lot of math for this?
You got it right, you have to memorize the right answers especially when it comes to Globe Earth Religion.
The Earth is Flat and Motionless, Globe Earth is a Religion.
What r u talking about?
And you’re right again, it’s currency. You stated to say Gold and silver. Gold and silver are money.
Any advice for a 43 yr old who is starting welding program in 2 weeks and will be going in the field in july
Weld weld weld take a break, and Weld some more
Don’t get discouraged and ask as many questions as you can
