Over and over again I get asked the same question. How do you start a welding company ? Well besides knowing how to weld and fabricate ....and having a out going personality here are 5 tips to get your welding shop or mobile welding service started. All of this can be done in a afternoon. To be honest the hard part of this business is the fabrication and welding. Not so much the business end. At least for me. You definitely want to be a people person who enjoys seeking new opportunities. I hope this helps some of you guys get your company’s off the ground!

Should make a follow up video on how you charge your customers. Rates, taxes, receipts, customers that refuse to pay you or not satisfied with the work. Will the customer know if things have to be to code? Or are we supposed to know that? Great video btw!!!

Awhile back...I was asked to do a job. Rebuild a truck plow mount. He brought it in pieces. I work with the cat pouring concrete. Anyway. It was most definitely above my skill set...I've got no elder to look to for advice. I didn't try to lie...or cut a corner. I told him straight away that it was beyond my skill set. His look was a look of surprise really. And he said as much. He appreciated my honesty and thanked me. I suppose I could have taken the parts...flipped them up a bunch and then told him I was in to deep. And just said...it is what it is...but I have to live with myself and I have a conscience. Just saying. You talking about reputation...I just ( three days ago) had a guy stop by with work...and him finding me was through word of mouth. A good reputation is important! My word is my honor. Thank you for sharing your advice. Happy welding!!
