  • This is a posting of a lost audio recording of two extraordinary folk/traditional musicians who never released a recording in their lifetimes. They were loved and respected by folk performers like Judy Collins and Peter Yarrow who also appeared at The Buddha. Jeanine's mastery of Appalachian plectrum style banjo was unexcelled at that time and her vocals could be compared to many who followed like, Sandy Denny and Jacqui McShee. I saw the aftermath of the tornado the same day, that both destroyed and resurrected Gaslight Square where the Coffee House was located, and later the beautiful Opera House when I was a teenager. So, instead of just one image to accompany the 25 minute restored recording, I collected material about Gaslight Square from multiple sources to view as we listen to this lost masterpiece of traditional music recorded in a lost, almost mirage-like time and place.
