'It's an inequality': Electorate size adds to Ikaroa-Rāwhiti woes

The Māori electorate Ikaroa-Rāwhiti, which ranges from isolated rural settlements to struggling urban centres, is up for grabs. Mata Reports takes a tiki tour from Matakaoa in the north to Wainuiomata in the south to speak to the people about the issues that will decide their vote.

The MP needs to do monthly zoom meetings with every community and help all these people, they are going to be worse off under National. They are definitely going to need a strong voice at the table.

This rural community has and is still being woefully let down by Govt. Grass-root organisations, most NGO, local communities coming together do the work and give the support needed is what is helping hold them together. Don’t forget them Aotearoa/New Zealand! They deserve the same access to water/electricity/health services most take for granted in bigger cities. Kia Kaha ❤️❤️
