[PG] Meng is a one-hour, bilingual documentary that follows former Gisborne mayor and current New Zealand Race Relations Commissioner Meng Foon as he navigates a very public role at a national level after 18 years in local politics.
Fluent in te reo Māori, Meng is often seen as a symbolic bridge between Māori and Chinese or tauiwi communities.
This documentary charts a year of ups, downs, and personal transformations for Meng.
Made with the support of NZ On Air & Te Māngai Pāho.

Not sure why the taxpayer is funding this doco to the tune of $200K. I would like some of that spent to sort out the roads in the Esk valley. Surely he is doing his paid job. Also his comments are biased - he is radio silent on the incitement to violence 'poem' from Tusiata Avia

I have been victimized twice in the last year by Indian Nationals who have accused me of racist comments as a means to discredit me and defend themselves from complaints of antisocial behaviour I have made against them. It did not happen, but the authorities almost by default take their lies as truth. This in my mind is worse than racism. They even laughed at me to my face much later for the achievement of their aims.
