    I absolutely agree with all of your 5 reasons why this watch is so great, I have owned mine for less than a year, but looking back I have no idea how I used to manage my training/racing before!!
    Great video! Thank you ❤

    After a little over 6 months, really enjoying the watch. The customization really has stood out to me as well as the ability to do setup advanced intervals within workouts. Didn’t realize there were quick responses available. I see you have made quite a few videos on all the various features that I will have to check out. Thanks for making this! 👍🏽

    Nice video! yet little is said about the most advanced capabilities, which are key for runners too: 1) You can pair it with a Running Dynamics Pod and see stride length, ground contact balance/time, vertical oscillation, cadence, etc. in real time during the run. 2) You can create routes very easily and navigate them in real time in the watch. 3) Because it can measure your HRV you get very useful info about the impact of your runs and your training/recovery status. As a "mid range" sports watch, all those features make the FR245 actually quite powerful for runners.

    I got my FR245 in January and I totally agree that it is one of the best watches one can get. I use it with the Garmin HRM run external HR chest strap and that adds some advanced dynamics like the GCT balance. It is the first watch in the Garmin line up which gives such a large load of data for one to analyse and work on. One more great feature is the SpO2 sensor.

    • @shanebow
      @shanebow  Před 4 lety

      Yeah, great shout. I don't even make enough of the Sp02 data. Could make a good video, explaining the information. 👍😎

      Another thought is that you an make a video on how to make use of the advanced dynamics to train. I haven’t seen too many videos on CZcams talking about how to use data like GCT balance, vertical oscillation, etc. and how to correct the in training.

    Really nice watch although I had to get a different strap as the Garmin default strap reacted badly with my skin and I had a terrible rash from it as I wore it all the time. New (still silicon) strap and no issues. Only downside is the Garmin Connect software on the iPhone can really be hit or miss as to whether it will actually connect to the phone and sync, even though the phone’s Bluetooth menu shows it connected!

      Get a screen protector. GG3 is strong but not overly resistant against scratches. GG DX is the latest, e.g. on Galaxy Watch Active 2, and people are still scratching it up. This watch has a small bezel, but spend the $3 on a pack of protectors.

    I was really happy with my 245 for the first year, but lately, I've had two problems: Heart rate usually reads about 20-30 bpm low during exercise (seems to be fairly accurate at resting and low rates, below 100 bpm or so), and the Body Battery scores have become almost completely flat since I did a software update a few weeks ago.
    I'm pretty sure I haven't suddenly lost the ability to rest, ever, so not clear why the BB never goes up more than 2 or 3 points all night. Previously, it seemed to correlate pretty well with how long and well I thought I had slept.
    Am I the only one with this problem?

    I have been researching on youtube that i came to a conclusion, Polar H10 is the best chest strap and Garmin watches are the best watches. Could you connect Polar H10 to Garmin Forerunner 245 and connect both to Strava at the same time? This is very important. If so, how? Thank you very much

    • @shanebow
      @shanebow  Před 4 lety +3

      Yeah this would work fine. The H10 uses ANT+ which is an open technology for wireless connection, the 245 also uses this! Just connect your garmin account to your strava account, really easy to do and it will upload your runs to strava when you sync your watch with your phone! Have some awesome runs this summer Emir you're going to have an awesome setup there!

      I’ve recently noticed that my 245 takes maybe a minute after I start my run to get the GPS working. It was way faster before. I’m from Europe as well.

    Not sure between the 45 or the 245, prefer the small size of the 45. Mostly for running, for biking my bikes have Garmins mounted on the handle bars and for swimming, just need total time currently using a basic IM Timex which would be replaced.

    Thanks for the video, have subscribed and will check out the how to videos later. Quick question though, I have Bluetooth speed and cadence sensors on my bike. Is it possible to connect these to the Forerunner 245, and then display cadence on the watch? Will be useful for indoor cycling when there is no GPS.

    Is 245 good buy in 2022 ?
    Does it have advance sleep monitoring feature which shows sleep score.
    Also does it have all HRM features what Apple Watch 7 has to offer…aware it doesn’t have ecg though..
