I purchased also forerunner 245 M but after 2-3 days later it stop working showing SPO2 ,SLEEP DATA, ASSISTANCE not working. Please help how to trubleshooting
narender panghal sorry to hear your having those issues Narender. Honestly I’m. It an expert but you may want to reset/restore your 245 if you continue to have issues. Also uninstall any extra IQ apps. I had an issue with a watch face but as soon as I went back to the default watch face my issue went away. Again I’m no expert so my recommendations are my own. You may want to google more options or contact Garmin support directly. Maybe they’ll exchange your watch - good luck.

Great video. Only thing that bugs me is the sound, I have to crank up the volume to listen clearer, but the music in the changing strap scene gets a bit too loud.

I have just purchased the Forerunner 245 and it is a little overwhelming. I need to know how to get the widgets (if available) for Heart Rate, Sleep, and steps. Also how to operate them. Do they go back to zero at midnight or is it operated manually. Excited to try these out.
I’ve had mine a week and not really seeing how I can use it to improve my running other than the stop watch and 1km pace. Can you give a tutorial on how to learn other ways to improve running with a 245?
The real perk is that all (supported) parts of the software is free. If you can do three or four days of running per week or want the watch to lift you to that level you can start a training program for ie half marathon and let it adapt to your performance. Personally I got the schedule in, but also intervals, hills and really long runs from having done 10k runs once a week at a set speed. Note that 5k and 10k if you are metric will probably be 5miles and 10miles - garmin never admit this but its obvious when you get that 17.253km easy run when training for 10km. Those up for it will surely improve. Its not perfect, the program has cooper tests but dont even report the time for the test lap, and doing hills will give you high heart rate on short distances and get you bad scores in other metrics - so just follow it until race time and evaluate in practice.

Hey Oliver. Cheers mate. Virtual partner is actually next week if nothing else comes up. Data screens is a good shout and have added to my list. Pace Pro was added into Garmin connect app this week and I really hoped it was going to be on my 245... But it said not compatible. Pace Pro sounds like a good idea especially for training for distances. I will have either a fr945 or Fenix 6 by year end and look forward to using it and giving my opinion. Shane just purchased the watch but audio cues are not coming through although I have definitely set them up on my phone and watch . I’ve followed all the advice online and the booklet but no joy , Any help would be great. Thanks

It’s not tracking my sleep, I accidentally selected sleep manually before hand maybe that’s the case ? Any ideas mate I’d appreciate it. Do you just keep the watch on sleeping within the allocated ‘sleep and wake’ timings and then it does the rest for you? Cheers mate. Hello Shanebow, After watching your other videos I decided that this was the watch for me. I am gradually working my way through the settings and widgets. One thing I find annoying is that I get all sorts of notifications, either out running or just sat at home. I was so pleased to see on this video that I could choose which ones would show (Smart Notifications 4:20) but I cannot find this on my iPhone (app version 4.32.0.3). Is it just in the Android app? The only way around it seems to be to stop notifications for individual apps actually on my phone so they do not show on either device. Or am I missing something obvious?

Is there a way to just get a notification that you have a text message with out having the message actually displaying? Like if your in a private meeting and don’t want people actually seeing what your wife just texted you.

Smart Notifications is not on the new 245. How do we get to select specific places to get notifications from and not others (for example yes for text messages and no to social media)?
Love the video, is there a run / walk feature I can use. On my forerunner 35 it was set up in the watch and you just needed to adjust it on the watch for your requirements. Just coming back from illness and injury and can't run very far before I need a walk so this feature is perfect.

Great vid! Do you think I can squeeze 7 hrs from the battery with the phone in full gps mode and with me listening to streamed music? Garmin says I should get up to 6 hrs but can I knock off one or two functions to get the 245 music to 7 hrs? Is it easy to turn the music off mid-run? If yes, I could knock it off for an hour or so and that should do the trick??

Great decision mate. It's a no compromise. Just be aware that the 955 may come soon. But you can play that game waiting for the next model forever. The 945 is a no compromise watch and lightweight too. Have fun with it 😎😎🏃

HELP!!!!.....QUESTION FOR RUNNERS! I Have been running since 2006, started recording my times with old fashioned stop watch & writing them in a book, then several years later with iphone worn via arm pouch. Started using 'Map My Run' app on the iPhone about 5 or 6 years ago. As time has gone on the iPhones have got bigger and much heavier. Now using iPhone 13 pro which is held on my chest with 'Free Train' iPhone vest. However the iPhone is very, very heavy and the vest-even though its just a few straps-makes me too hot with it over my normal vest especially when running in hot weather. I'm thinking now of getting rid of the iphone & the Free Train vest for running and investing in some sort of running watch-and thats all I'll want it for, running-so my question is....Is there a running watch out there that I can upload 'Map My Run' onto that also has some sort of speaker that alerts me every 1km? For example when running with Map My Run on iPhone, every 1km it calls out the time for the 1km, distance and average 1km time. Is there any running watch out there that does the same??? Thanks in advance...
Any garmin can upload a run to mapmyrun after you got back and synced it with the phone app. 1km lap beeps, vibration and statistics is pretty standard aswell. With the ones supporting music (and bt headset) you get a simple voice summary. There's probably other brands but garmin is pretty stable, apple watch might cover you aswell.
Its possible to put airplane mode on at night and in the morning upload all the data while you sleep, or go for a run, and after you come back you can upload?
Amaizing, I am a mom of 3 starting to improve my running, and I have to buy new running watch, mine is pretty outdated :-) so I think this one is for me ;-) thanks for this videos
Hey Steven thanks for the question, you can get the Xbox series S version running without an issue. Go to the Bluetooth menu and pair the Xbox controller, playing with the watch buttons is too difficult. There is a frame rate drop to 25fps but as the screen is small you wouldn't notice. 😜

Quick question if anyone can help. I have uploaded my run play list to my phone and went for my first run i shuffled the tracks via watch. How can I restart the play list ? It starts from where I last was and wanted to restart it or re shuffle all the tracks. Cant find an option on the watch itself. Thanks

At 1:37 it shows you've done well over 15000 steps for the day yet you don't have a full circle like the rest of the dials on the face watch ( the step circle is not as large as the other 2 circles. My 245 does the same thing so I'm wondering is that just the face watch design or Garmin needs to do a software update to correct it.

Hey Simon no I've not. I am in contact with one of the watch face developers so I will ask him and get back to you
So basically I've had a reply already and it's due to the API not being available for developers to use. Thiw could be due to a licensing issue

Hello Shanebow, After watching your other videos I decided that this was the watch for me. I am gradually working my way through the settings and widgets. One thing I find annoying is that I get all sorts of notifications, either out running or just sat at home. I was so pleased to see on this video that I could choose which ones would show (Smart Notifications 4:20) but I cannot find this on my iPhone (app version 4.32.0.3). Is it just in the Android app? The only way around it seems to be to stop notifications for individual apps actually on my phone so they do not show on either device. Or am I missing something obvious?
Am I missing something ? I cannot install the data screen with every thing on it ?

Is there a way to just get a notification that you have a text message with out having the message actually displaying? Like if your in a private meeting and don’t want people actually seeing what your wife just texted you.

Smart Notifications is not on the new 245. How do we get to select specific places to get notifications from and not others (for example yes for text messages and no to social media)?
Love the video, is there a run / walk feature I can use. On my forerunner 35 it was set up in the watch and you just needed to adjust it on the watch for your requirements. Just coming back from illness and injury and can't run very far before I need a walk so this feature is perfect.
You can use interval training for this...

Great vid! Do you think I can squeeze 7 hrs from the battery with the phone in full gps mode and with me listening to streamed music? Garmin says I should get up to 6 hrs but can I knock off one or two functions to get the 245 music to 7 hrs? Is it easy to turn the music off mid-run? If yes, I could knock it off for an hour or so and that should do the trick??

Great decision mate. It's a no compromise. Just be aware that the 955 may come soon. But you can play that game waiting for the next model forever. The 945 is a no compromise watch and lightweight too. Have fun with it 😎😎🏃

You will only see a squiggle of where you have run, no overlay of streets etc.
Do you know of any good running power apps that work w the FR245 without a pod or strap? If a baro altimeter is needed, and if upgrading from a FR245 is required, that's ok too (haven't made the FR245 purchase just yet). Thank you!
HELP!!!!.....QUESTION FOR RUNNERS! I Have been running since 2006, started recording my times with old fashioned stop watch & writing them in a book, then several years later with iphone worn via arm pouch. Started using 'Map My Run' app on the iPhone about 5 or 6 years ago. As time has gone on the iPhones have got bigger and much heavier. Now using iPhone 13 pro which is held on my chest with 'Free Train' iPhone vest. However the iPhone is very, very heavy and the vest-even though its just a few straps-makes me too hot with it over my normal vest especially when running in hot weather. I'm thinking now of getting rid of the iphone & the Free Train vest for running and investing in some sort of running watch-and thats all I'll want it for, running-so my question is....Is there a running watch out there that I can upload 'Map My Run' onto that also has some sort of speaker that alerts me every 1km? For example when running with Map My Run on iPhone, every 1km it calls out the time for the 1km, distance and average 1km time. Is there any running watch out there that does the same??? Thanks in advance...
Any garmin can upload a run to mapmyrun after you got back and synced it with the phone app.
1km lap beeps, vibration and statistics is pretty standard aswell. With the ones supporting music (and bt headset) you get a simple voice summary.
There's probably other brands but garmin is pretty stable, apple watch might cover you aswell.
Its possible to put airplane mode on at night and in the morning upload all the data while you sleep, or go for a run, and after you come back you can upload?

Hey Steven thanks for the question, you can get the Xbox series S version running without an issue. Go to the Bluetooth menu and pair the Xbox controller, playing with the watch buttons is too difficult. There is a frame rate drop to 25fps but as the screen is small you wouldn't notice. 😜

Quick question if anyone can help. I have uploaded my run play list to my phone and went for my first run i shuffled the tracks via watch. How can I restart the play list ? It starts from where I last was and wanted to restart it or re shuffle all the tracks. Cant find an option on the watch itself. Thanks

At 1:37 it shows you've done well over 15000 steps for the day yet you don't have a full circle like the rest of the dials on the face watch ( the step circle is not as large as the other 2 circles. My 245 does the same thing so I'm wondering is that just the face watch design or Garmin needs to do a software update to correct it.
I will take a look at it. I've not noticed it before. It would an annoying bug if you like tracking steps and that watch face

You may have turned it off in the options. Try this... Keep the up button down (the middle button on the right), keep pressing down until you see 'wrist heart rate' and press enter and press enter again
