9:17 was crazy , cool skip and even cooler tech. Excited to see how future runs will look :) just picking the game up rn and it is a very fun run!
yooooo, that save at 27:34 was insane, new ending looks dope !
Nicely done! I'm not a speedrunner, but appreciate the upload. Your tricks helped me get around.
The game looks soooo long now ugh but nice run! And thank you for figuring out a route, I was NOT ready to spend hours trying to make my way around all those reworked and new areas xd
Thanks for the video. Helped me out get unstuck and figured out where to go next 😊
2:45 i only see now... the princess is right there! before disappearing!!
This was the only guide I had to find the key in the underbelly, but I managed to beat the game in one sitting
You are really good. As a casual gamer with clumsy fingers, just completed the game but 14:15 - really hated this spot...
damn she schmoovin
this is a cool run! I just finished the game at about 12 times your record, hah. The moveset is super satisfying.
I was wondering, what's that thing you did at 9:16? that was interesting.
When kicking away from a wall, but you got momentum that carries you into a wall, you kick hits the wall.
But because kicks go like a mirror and our kick direction is away from the wall, the kick presses us into the wall... giving us momentum to get the next one.
And the initial momentum can just be holding backwards into the wall. Another useful one is slide jumping, but that is way more precise.
in library at ~ 6:50, you can skip going around the whole left side by doing a dash jump into a backflip, saves a good 10ish seconds
this game is fun, but the map is hella confusing. that's why speedrunning metroidvanias in general is so impressive in my opinion.
8:44 (and allmost in every part of the game) you can very easily use (midair)LT+ JUMP - (directly afterwards) to backflip, it comes in super handy after the 3rd wallkick because the problem of getting a good angle to get the ledgegrap is gone because you can backflip directly in the opposite direction of your last wallkick
You can only do the midair backflip after getting sunsetter.
I do struggle with using it naturally still, but at least for that timestamp, that option was not available.
oh yeah makes sense, my bad
i just finished the game and clocked in over 5 hours and got stuck once for 30 minutes and after that it all felt super natural, this games movement is so good it feels like second nature
I figured 19:53 out on my own, I thought nobody else knew about it
Im gonna setup an auto splitter if there is none made yet
The full release version has an autosplitter that works for all patches outside the very first few that got build with debug mode.
There is no reason for these to be played and no one bothered to make one for these.
For the original game jam versions the autosplitter doesn't work either though, as the stuff the splitter uses only got added on release. Also it's build with debug mode too and may need to be made as a component because the bootstrapper and the game itself have the same name... and the .asl gets confused by that.
So if you want to look into a project just to do something, working on the game jam autosplitter could be cool... though like no one plays these versions anymore.
Lol thought I found a good trick where you can skip a switch by the underbelly key but you just jumped the whole thing
I feel like such an idiot, how do walljumps even work in this game?
When you air kick, you have a hitbox around Sybils leg. When that hitbox hits a wall, you do one of 2 types of walljumps:
- if you are facing almost head-on to the wall, you do a straight, high, but short distance jump.
- at any other angle, you bounce off the wall at the same angle as you were when you hit the wall... just to the other side.
what move did you do at 20:11 im so stuck pls help me
The strikebreaker, found in the sansa keep shortly after 15:45
so the game is possible to beat, i'm just suffer of skill issue
This game seems to be really cool, but it uses way too many Zelda OoT assets, i'm worried for it
All the assets are created by the developer rittz as far as I know. N64 assets would be hard to use in modern engines anyway as far as I understand.
@@michaelk__ oh, alrighty :-)
the wall torches do look almost identical huh lol, though the fire itself seems distinct
