Hello, very nice run I just looked up speedruns after finishing the game. May I ask how you perform a super jump right after a slide? I can't find a way to do it unless I use a slide jump first. Cheers.
I could be wrong but, By default, if you move and then quickly move in the opposite direction and then jump, you do a higher jump than normal. This person is combining this tech with the slide (by momentarily pressing "S" on keyboard) to gain massive height and momentum.
I haven't got it perfect yet but all you need is the slide ability. Solar Wind apparently messes this tech up so you won't be able to do the same thing if you upgrade your Slide. About halfway into the slide you want to press backwards and just slightly after that press jump. Then immediately flick forward and press jump again at roughly the same time. It's tricky because you want to Slide, delay a tiny bit, and then /very/ quickly mash those inputs afterward. I can't consistently Ultra, the after image flip, but I can pretty comfortably pull off the slide flip. The timing is very tight for Ultras, but if you take advantage of Coyote Timing(pressing your last jump input just the moment after you leave a ledge) it makes Ultras incredibly consistent. However this requires all of you inputs to line up perfectly with the moment you leave a ledge so it's still very tricky and precise.
@@ToastUrbath I ended up finding a tutorial explaining slide cancels etc but I appreciate your way of explaining inputs as well. Thank you. I don't really intend on speedrunning this game but I love difficult tech like this lol.
@@rigel_starr It is very satisfying to nail for sure, super fun move. Also: I just completed my first full uninterrupted run ending 36:47. Wish I was recording haha I'd have the second slowest place on the leaderboard right now in my first run
At 4:26, couldn't you slide off the ledge on the left and initiate a full speed bunny hop to save some more time? Great run btw, insane pulling those ultra hops back to back.
