@@thomasvulaj8997 the playoff overtime rule was changed after the Chiefs beat the Bills in overtime after the Chiefs won the kickoff and scored a touchdown on that drive. Now the overtime rule states that if the receiving team scores a touchdown on their first possession in overtime then the other team gets a chance to receive a kickoff and score a touchdown on that drive. If the second team scores a touchdown then it's next score wins. This is for playoffs early. What you said applies to regular season only. Achos point about Shanahan having to switch up his philosophy if he loses is a great point. However, we have Purdy now. He’s not just a QB surrounded by great talent which makes him a good QB. He’s a good QB that I believe can be elite that has great talent around him. That’s most of our Niners stances on Purdy. It’s not that we really think he’s actually elite rn. But he’s playing like it. So why not? As a fan believe that your QB will be elite if he’s playing elite!

There are lots of teams that are “dynasty like”. Spurs in the NBA, were not a dynasty. Dominant yes, but there is a standard to be considered a dynasty.

Stop trying to change the criteria for mahomes. Afc championships do not count. He could win the next 10 afc championships and not win another superbowl. By your logic, that's a dynasty. No they are not currently a dynasty. Superbowls and only superbowls count towards dynasty status.
Chiefs need this one to be a dynasty. 3 is the magic number and always has been, and if they can somehow pull-off a 3peat next season...they would be historic and likely considered the best team in NFL history.
No way Joy Taylor is the most logical on this take. Acho contradicted himself by saying he rather have the three SB wins but the two SB wins and all the conference appearances is more “difficult”.
Steelers went to 4 SBs in 6 years, and then never returned for almost 20 years... so it can happen easily even with Mahomes at QB. The AFC is loaded with massive talent too, and in many respects, guys haven't lived up to that.
To be a dynasty you have to win 3 championship’s within a 5 year stretch. For example the last 4 American sports dynasties were the Golden State Warriors, New England Patriots, The San Francisco Giants, and the Chicago Blackhawks. The Tampa Bay Lightning were not only so close to being a dynasty, but they almost did a three-peat, just how the Warriors almost did too. I believe the last franchise to complete a three-peat was the Lakers, and the Bulls twice in the 90’s. Basically, the Chiefs have to win one more SB between now and next year for this stretch to be considered a dynasty.

I think it was in the 80's that Bob Jones said something about the chiefs being a the super bowl and there would a revival...and last week I was trying to tell someone about Bob Jones saying this and when they heard the Chiefs part they said " of course " but in the 80's or early 90's or 2000's or 2010's.. the chiefs were not going to the super bowl and a few years back when they did.. if I remember right it had been 50 years for them... perhaps I am wrong but it had been a long time. What we are seeing is next level special , amazing and I wonder how much more we will see. Mahomes does have the potential to be the NFL QB GOAT.
They are not a dynasty. Most dynasties in the past have won three and usually back to back. That's why there hasn't been a dynasty since the 90s cowboys or the Patriots in the last 20 years. That's why it wasn't until 2004 when the Patriots won the third super bowl they were considered a dynasty

A dynasty is a considerable amount of time. Honestly 10 years plus is a dynasty in football. Steelers-70s , 49ers-80s into the 90s , patriots 2000s-2018. Then again the afc is and has been a worse conference in 30 years.
Think of it like this.
Say a team goes to 6 straight super bowls and wins 2. But they lose the other 4 super bowls in overtime on a walk off field goal and fall just short of 3.
Now take another team who went to 3 super bowls in 6 years and won 3. But the other 3 years they went 0-17. You’re telling me that just because you win 3 makes you more of a dynasty than pure dominance over a duration of time? I think not

I used to wonder how some ex-players could not be great scouts and GMs until I listen to Shady. On the topic of are the Chiefs a dynasty, if you take Shady’s, Jones’, and Acho’s argument, you can basically apply their logic the same way participant trophies are awarded, meaning they value participating in the championship rather than winning it. C’mon, fellas. If that’s the case, why don’t we give the Bills props? I’ll tell you why. It’s because participation doesn’t count as winning. You have to win it all.

The Steelers won 2 out of 4 years (2005 & 2008) and the Giants won 2 out of 5 years (2007 & 2011) yet no one is mentioning them as a dynasty. They definitely need 3. If the Chiefs lose, then only winning 2 SBs after going to 6 straight AFC Championships is actually bad.

Acho is diregarding the chiefs defense when he talks about the talent gap. The chiefs didnt even have a top 10 defense in the league in 2020 the niners had a top 5 defense in the league in 2020. This year the chiefs have the best or second best defense in the league. The niners while on paper have maybe the 8th best defense in the league in my opinion based on how theyve played lately.
