It’s kinda insane because literally all year during the regular season, the Baltimore Ravens were undeniably the best team in the league and this show spent the least amount of time giving them credit. They spent weeks talking about the Jets and the Eagles even though the entire world saw their downfall coming. Now that the Ravens lost, they’re piling it on, I swear the media is a joke sometimes

The shows are all scripted. That's a fact. They have producers and editors writing their lines and telling them their roles. Today you are the hater, tomorrow you sing their praises. There are only a few sport shows that actually have a real debate or dialogue. Come on people, these guys are wrong with their predictions more than 70% of the time and have the audacity to call something a failure. Especially Emmanuel Acho a lifetime bench warmer all for a buck and we fall for it. The true be told why do I even listen to these shows? A complete waste of time on my part.
This was the year to do it, too many injuries especially to the QB position. Chiefs were vulnerable, Burrow was out for the year, Allen was knocked off, and neither lawrence nor herbert made the second act. The stars couldnt have aligned any better for a 2 horse race in the AFC.
Chiefs were delivered on a silver platter to M&T Stadium and the Ravens face planted. Not the last opportunity, but definitely the sweetest opportunity and it has come and gone.
They beat everyone but Mahomes,
Lamar 3-1 against JB, 1-1 against Lawrence and undefeated against herbert lmfao. if you think all of a sudden they gone fall off how come Joe and Herbert who got season ending injuries and a bucnh of contract stuff with their teammates are gonna be worst?

It wasn't a shoot out between Patrick Mahomes vs Lamar Jackson, what is McCoy saying? The Raven's D shut him out in the second half and Lamar "MVP" couldn't do anything and ended it throwing in to triple coverage late in the 4th.
The Chiefs managed the game the second half. It was a garbage time shut out by the Ravens D. Mahomes threw a 30 on them when he wanted to, it looked easy.

Thats why I think Peyton changed his plays from his coach, he felt he was more right in that situation. LJ8 is clearly not as assertive as some of those dude, but I think the coaches have to push lamar in that direction whereas Manning was going to call his own plays no matter what happened.
You d know the Chiefs had a spy out on every play right? It wasn't like Lamar wasn't trying to run. Big K on the right and a DE/DT in the middle. Jones collapsed the pocket and Big k was there when Lamar wanted to roll to his right. left if the ball was on the left hash.

From what I heard about Lamar being “locked in” and all that… this season was a failure for the Ravens-both as a team and individually.
Remember, John Harbaugh has won a chip already. Odell won a chip already. The Ravens are a 2x SB champion. They’ve been there before. Maybe not Lamar and this particular squad, but the Ravens organization HISTORICALLY has been there and done that. Lamar wanted to be there so he could do what Ray Lewis did, what Terrell Suggs did, what his predecessor did, etc.

Coming into every season each team has goals and expectations. The ravens expectations as a team was the superbowl. The same goes for the Bills, chiefs, 49ers etc. How the ravens played during the regular season only confirmed their expectations. For them to fall short of that is a failure, the same goes for the bills, eagles etc. Now next year is a new season and you have the chance again to accomplish your goals or meet expectations.

It was a failure for the Ravens, they had done everything in the regular season, got the 1 seed and had a complete collapse in the AFC Championship game. The Ravens only scored 10 points in the entire game, just let that sink in for a moment. Many would argue the game plan was a train wreck and they never ran the ball. Not running the ball was probably their biggest mistake, but Lamar Jackson didn't play well neither. Lamar Jackson tried to play quarterback by throwing the ball. But, when things weren't looking good, either John Harbaugh should have made the executive decision to tell Lamar Jackson to go off script or Lamar himself should have gone with his instincts to pull it down to do his thing on his own accord.

Both Lamar and Mahomes been in the league for 6 years and Mahomes has 2 Super Bowl rings with 2 Super Bowl MVPs. Lamar isn’t close to the level of Mahomes.
Ultimately, the goal is to make it to the Super Bowl. So, in that sense, it was a failure.
100% failure, you can acknowledge how good they were in the regular season and still say they underachieved massively given how stacked the team was. Lamar was given everything everyone ever accused the Ravens of not getting him and still folded just like nearly every year.

Lamar never got close enough for it to matter. Also not to mention the Ravens roster is miles better than the Bills especially with the injuries the Bills suffered. They had to pull AJ Klein off the couch during the post season just to have enough linebackers.
The success for Lamar was his development as a QB in the pocket delivering the ball consistently. He proved that they can and should be consistent contenders for years to come.

If the Ravens were going to Super Bowls it would be a bust, it's Lamar's first AFC championship game. I do believe he will get back and get better. I do feel this was a successful season, even more a learning lesson on how to conduct yourself in those moments. How to play a perfect game, your game rather than trying to change who you are.
Don’t use the excuse that it’s Lamar’s first AFC Championship game…ask Joe Burrow if it’s possible to win in your first trip to that game…and he did his against Mahomes, too…at Arrowhead!

What other qb got as much of a pass to this point cause “he doesn’t have weapons” or “the OC is the problem” ect? I don’t hate Lamar by any stretch but he was hyped up to potentially be the best qb in the league, then lost twice as much as he has won. People made excuses years prior and then got a team that literally had no weaknesses and still managed lay an egg.
they didn't lose to Patrick Mahomes, they held that team to 17 points. They lost to Steve Spagnuolo. Now they have to figure it out next year without the DC, the DB coach, with everybody a year older.

The Ravens paid Lamar like he was the best, they got him a new OC, they got him receivers, they gave him a lights out defense. The return on the money had to be a Super Bowl. When a QB says, make me the highest paid, he is saying “I’m the best” Lamar said it was 2 heavyweights going at it. Truth was only 1 heavyweight was in the ring.

Nah, it's not a failure to lose in the AFC Championship game. It might be individually for Lamar because he was terrible. He had LANES to run through and he decided he wanted to sit in the pocket.

@@Sckoobiey when the play breaks down it's his decision to run or not. They have never told him he couldn't run if the opportunity presents itself. He made the decision to stay in the pocket even when it was collapsing and he had lanes to run through... I understand the team abandoned the run but again when the play breaks down he usually runs and gets 8-15 yards. He didn't start running till it was too late.

The 1 seed in the NFL is unlike anything else in sports. It stacks the cards in that teams favor unlike any other sport. All home games and one less game to play than everyone else. They were the number 1 seed and won one playoff game. That’s a failure.

Um no. Out of 32 teams, you’d expect a handfull to make it to the SB, and it gets especially clearer at the end of the regular season. Fact is, the Ravens looked like a juggernaut and dominated everyone. For them to get bounced the way they did in the conference championship is a big failure on their organization and a failure for the fans.

The Ravens offense spit the bit end of story. If you told Coach Harbaugh that KC would score only 17 he would take that. This was their shot and they blew it. There's a famous story of the great Dan Marino after his Super Bowl loss getting in the limo saying to his team hey guys, why are you so down we'll be back next year...
We don't even have to talk about specific plays, he just didn't run all game and left countless free 1st downs on the table. He didn't do the things that made him so dangerous all season and therefore: its a failure. Josh Allen in contrast, played his heart out and left everything on the field. The bills had a more successful season.
Blowing it in the conference championship is not as devastating as blowing in the SB.
