In Nepal 🇳🇵 ..blood sausage is called 'sargemba' or 'sergang' ..its one of the famous traditional dish for ' Limbu/Rai community' Eastern part of Nepal 🇳🇵
I am shocked that she used olive oil. I’ve had this dish and I’m 100% sure that instead of olive oil a neutral tasting oil should be used (for example, canola) for it to taste authentic. For anyone considering trying out Maanchi’s recipe, I highly recommend omitting the olive oil. It’s not a thing in Asian cooking.
😯
When Maangchi starts frying six cloves of garlic... 😍 You know that it will turn out deliciously for sure!
whenever I see you chop an onion, I hear the theme song start in my head. Thank you, this looks delicious!
In Brazil we call Sundae as “Chouriço “. A blood sausage seasoned with onion, garlic and other seasonings before cooking
In Portugal too
In mexico it is called "moronga" and it very tasty. Flavored heavily with mexican oregano, ruta, mint, chiles and onion. My family usually has it in tacos or with red chile. Its also great in stews. It has a ton of iron and is quite good for you.
A lot of americans are afraid of blood sausages, but i think many would enjoy them. It isnt as strong as fresh blood used in soups and has more of a meaty flavor. Spices, onion and garlic tone down the metalic taste very well.
Blood sausage - Boudin in French - is very popular in the Frenc! Carribeans / French Guiana. It's softer than the European version and spicy. It's on every table for Christmas.
In Portugal we eat 순대 too. It's called "morcela". I'm gonna try it like this! 😀
Yes... Colombians eat morcilla. Same thing!
❤❤
순대, blood sausage, black pudding 등등 여러이름으로 불리지만 음식엔 국경이 없는것 같습니다. 신기합니다. 요리의 역사는 너무 감미로운것 같아요❤
I'm so excited that a new Asian market just opened up near me! I cannot wait to make this dish! It looks amazing!!! Thank you so much Maangchi 💕for sharing another one of your wonderful recipes!🙏
This looks so delicious! I was finally able to get the frozen sundae, and tried it early fall, and I've been buying it ever since. I've just eaten it with rice, kimchee and other vegetable dishes mostly, but I recently tried making sundae guk, and it was so soothing and comforting during the cold days. Thank you for the great recipe!
W e have blood sausage in my country too, I love it. Happy to see you doing more traditional recipes. Would love one for chicken feet too! I make it once a month or so, but would love to try a Korean styled one.

I love spicy food this looks interesting. We have blood sausages in Belgium too called bloed worst I wonder if this Korean recipe is going to work, as we eat it with apple sauce and fries, this seems so much more interesting and less boring! Thks Maanchi, good day to you.😜😋
I've never had blood sausage and now I want to try it.

정말 맛나보여요! 한국에서도 잘 보고 있습니다! 항상 감사합니다!
You and Kimono Mom are my favourite internet chefs!!!
One of my favourites! Perilla leaves are absolutely worth adding to this if you can get them.
I love blood sausage and blood (jelly-like)! Had it in China many years ago and got addicted!! 😋
I had a dish similar to this in Carrolton, Texas. There is a HUGE Korean shopping center there full of restaurants. The sides it came with were also very good. Surprisingly cheap too! 2 people ate for like $25 and we had to-go boxes there was so much. H-Mart grocery is also there in that same shopping center. If anyone hasn't been, its a MUST GO.
It must be really tasty and it's both sweet and spicy too! I also liked the different veggies in it and not forgetting there's glass noodles too! Thanks Maangchi!😋
OMG will be looking for these at HMart next visit!! We travelled to Ireland (2xnow) and first time I tried blood sausage (they & the British call black pudding)..I found out what it was and despite knowing the ingredients decided to give it a try. Hands down awesome flavor not to mention the nutrients and health value of eating blood sausages. Ppl shouldn't get caught up in thinking about the blood ingredient for these wonderful tasting sausages and try them! (I found a great Irish family in upstate NY that make my fav Irish black pudding and have purchased from them for years now.) So I CANNOT WAIT to get some of the Korean blood sausages from HMart and try this recipe. I love the flavors and seasonings of Korean dishes so I can only imagine how good this is going to be!!
Ooooh I love korean blood sausage!

We don’t have a lot of Asian food in my country still, but I wonder if I could make a version of this dish with our own pig blood sausage “moronga” 😊
Blood sausages and black puddings are really nice when properly made, especially if there’s some chew to them.
Thank you for sharing!!

This looks delicious, Maangchi. 😊I never eaten blood sausage. I just don't have the courage to try them. Maybe I'll try them one day.
One of my favorite Korean bars in LA made the best 순대볶음...
But it closed down a few years ago because of a fire.
I miss that place. They made amazing 통닭 & 새우튀, too.
In the UK we call blood sausage * black pudding * and I think I will be making this dish on the Weekend. My daughter and I just love your recipes.
Is black pudding the same thing as the haggis?
@@juan-xy2bo No, they are 2 completely different things.
@@PetraRobinson-gm8nh thx!
I tried black pudding in London. It was quite different in taste and texture from soondae. I recommend using soondae.
I absolutely approve this recipe. Love from UK 🇬🇧❤
Yummy 😋😋😋
Sundae tastes so good. Yummy ❤❤❤ I think that is Korean comfort food.

I think most Filipinos who eat Dinuguan/Pork Blood Stew will enjoy this dish. Lemme make some soon. 😍😊
Blood sausage is almost impossible to find where I live but I'm so curious to try it. I'll have to see if my Asian supermarket has any.
Yummy!

I’ve never tried blood sausage before, but you’ve certainly made it look very appetizing. I have to go to the Korean grocery store this week to pick up a few items, so I’ll try this recipe. Thanks for another great food adventure!!
Good luck!

I didn't have very good sundae at a restaurant years ago... I'd love to try it again if I could find this frozen. It's good their seafood jeon was better 🤣
Good morning from Greece! I can find English blood sausage where I live (black pudding) is it a suitable substitute for sundae?
❤
❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Maangchi. I have seen several recipes that call for perilla leaves, but I cannot get any for love or money! What would you suggest I use to replace them?
If you were to recommend the most similar ingredient, I would recommend basil. But similar but different
If you can find Japanese shiso leaves, it is the same plant.
@@robertmacpherson9044 Shiso does not taste the same.
❤❤❤👌👌👌👌👍👍👍

On the Navajo Nation in the United States we have a blood sausage, but it looks more like haggis, we call it "Dilth" or "the bomb" because it's boiled in Sheep stomach
hey that's wooltari sundae! i just emailed them on amazon to see fi they can deliver to where i live. and apparently they can. but it costs a lot of money in shipping. so i'm debating....
Can you try with small octupus alive and red clawed fiddler crabs kimchi I watch that recipe in a nation of kimchi neflix that's from mokpo jeolla jangsando
I would like to see how to make the sausage.
In java indonesia, chicken blood called saren..

Love from Pakistan ❤🇵🇰
literally the ABSOLUTE LEGEND Maangchi herself: it is heat resistant and food safe plastic
instagram reel viewers: well erm ahchktually microplastics UwU if you eat this you love cancer and want to live a shorter life 🤓
Can I do this with black pudding? It's the closest thing I can get to blood sausage in the UK
A bit different from the sundaes I’m used to. XD
It’s so hard to find this authentic recipe at restaurants.. it’s always frozen in the US!😢
Sundae bokkeum: 2 tablespoons of gochujang; 2 tablespoons gochugaru ; and a whole large green chili with seeds. English name of this dish: blow your head off blood sausage!!!
Mangchi sis sundae flavour is to much bad for me 😂but no matter to sundae lovers❤❤❤
I wonder if this would work with Black Pudding, as the Korean equivalent is going to be hard to source 🤔
I was thinking this too. I think black pudding would probably be firmer, but it’s not a million miles away from sundae, so I’m going to give it a go.
Only black pudding, probably no. The noodles are crucial here, for the soft chewy texture. However: It might work, if you get a sausage casing, take the filling of the black pudding and mix it with the cooked sweet potato starch noodles. Taste might still differ, as black pudding has different seasoning to Sundae, me thinks. Oh, and to make any sausages at home I used a funnel to wrap the casing around. A bit fiddly, buy works. Good luck.

Wow! What a recipe! I bet it's great with just tofu too (for those not brave enough to try the blood sausage)? Looks amazing! Thank you
Всім доброго вечора!💙💛💙💛💙💛
For Vegetarians/ Vegans that want a similar experience, I just made this up in my head watching this, but....:
- Vegan sausage casing
- Firm tofu (needs to be drained well)
- Mushroom powder for colouring and aroma
- Soysauce (careful with amount. We don't want it too wet)
- seasonings (what normally goes in Sundae guys?
- Maybe some starch needed to bind mix together
- the cooked sweet potato starch noodles of course
Mash up the tofu and mix with mushroom powder, soy sauce, whatever other seasoning, and starch. Add and mix cooked noodles.
Get a funnel, wrap the vegan sausage casing around the end nozzle, stuff casing with filling.
It's likely fiddly, but not Impossible.
Again, I only made this up now. But it might be something that could be a vegan substitute for Sundae. Not sure that just omitting Sundae would give Vegans the same satisfactory experience.
If anyone tries this, please let me know how it turned out, and what (if any) adjustments you made to my made up fantasy recipe. 😅
Oh, and hi Maangchi! How are you?
Sounds lovely!
