- 5043 'Earl Of Mount Edgecumbe puts on a vocal show on Vintage Trains 'Summer At The Palace' tour to Oxford & Blenheim Palace. The Castle Class is seen at six locations with the highlight of the day being the start up on Hatton Bank after being signal checked halfway up the bank and having to open up after slowing down to about 10mph. The penultimate shot in this video captures the sound as the loco approaches the summit and then continues round towards Hatton North Junction.
Locations were Stourbridge Junction, Hagley Cutting, Worcester Shrub Hill, Norton Junction, Hatton Bank, Hatton North Junction
I hope you enjoy the video. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Great video of a 4 row superheated and double chimneyed Castle performing like she was always meant to be ; and one which the team at Tyseley have turned out fit to eat ones Royal dinner off . Just brilliant !
E of M E turns coal and water into energy exquisitely . You say " thanks for watching " I say the pleasure was all mine . Thank you .
Excellent coverage of the tour Liam & Phil, well chosen locations what a superb loco 5043 is. Thanks for sharing, it's a like, cheers...Bill
Cheers Bill, the loco is top draw !
Fantastic filming of Swindon's best . Thanks for sharing .
Yes, definitely Swindon's best !
Collett certainly got it right with his Castles nothing like them when in full flight, especially the Earl which always gives a good account of itself, Tyseley should be proud of it
Swindon's finest Jim ! Was out yesterday following it !
I think it's closer to Collett got Churchward's Castles right!
Great term work which allowed you to get double shots at locations, and also treble at Hatton
Cheers Mike, I thought we'd give the other camera's a run out, as it's been a while, well, almost a week lol
Wonderful video. Impressive show from Tyseley's finest loco.
Thanks Christopher, always a good show from the Tyseley crew.
Great production , many thanks for all your work
Thanks Peter, your comments are always appreciated. Regards, Liam
I don`t usually watch steam videos, but this is superb, thanks for sharing with the world.
You're welcome. Thanks for the nice comment.
Great video from one of GWRs best..only 8 on the hook gave her chance to impress..!
Cheers Pete, no doubt she was just toying with that load. Be nice to see her with a serious load, like the one she pulled over the S&C a few years back.
just great captures, enjoyed watching as I always do. Thank you
Thanks as always Ernest. Glad you enjoyed it.
InstaBlaster...

Hi Liam , very true. Same to you....Dave
Nice panning at the end Liam .... good stuff as usual mate.
Thanks as always Rog, much appreciated.
Great video mate :)
Cheers mate.
I'm sure this loco would be blowing off all the way up the Lickey unaided Liam, It's a good job she has her 'water cart'!! Excellent stuff as expected from you & Phil..... Was there an A.N Other or are you 'planting cameras' everywhere lol. Regards, Brian.
No doubt Brian. I know for a fact that they wan't to get 5043 up the Lickey, but haven't found an ideal opportunity ! The Panniers in November will be good.
I don't think I've ever seen a video of this loco where it is not blowing off. The steaming is quite extraordinary and enables the loco to really show what it can do. Is it coal they're using or some sort of rocket fuel? Well produced vid - thanks.
Excessive blowing off is merely a sign that the fireman has not yet got to grips with his engine's capabilities. Still better to have too much steam rather than too little ;-)
Was that Ray Poole on the regulator?
