Thanks for this review. I spent the last week trying to decide on my sons first gaming laptop. He saved his money all year since Christmas and now had just enough to afford this. We were all set to go Acer Nitro 5 but after your video I think this will last him another year or two longer. Buy once cry once if its in the budget.
Update. So we got it a few days ago and man it's sweet not only does the build quality feel better than I expected but it runs games super smooth and the fans are not loud at all even on performance mode.

Owner of TUF F15 FX507ZI. Same specs as on video, only difference is mine has 32gb of ram. I have detected no lag or stuttering at all. Maybe because I have optimized the Windows 11 on it and it doesn't lag and eat resources! Working reasonably cool, but I still have it's back elevated before cooling pad will be bought. Anyways, It is essential to use gaming laptop with decent cooling pad, if you want to use it's resources at maximum without overheating.
Unofficially, it will take up to 64 GB DDR4 (2x 32 GB Sticks). I have it on mine, and it runs w/no problems. 👌

Great video! Thank you for all the attention to detail! I bought a Lenovo Legion Go and realized that I'm too much of a keyboard and mouse junkie for handhelds... I started looking for affordable laptops in a similar price range and the F15 kept coming up... For only $200 more dollars I got a pretty badass travel gaming machine! I'm a builder and my desktop is bananas (13900k/4090 FE/64gb 6200 DDR5 - full custom loop) so this will only be for travel - will report back once I get it in! I'm a bit of a display nerd and the low res + low brightness does have me a bit concerned but I have to remember it's only for on-the-go and I don't need a $3K laptop (or do I... nah, the wife would divorce me haha). Thanks again for the great content!

Kinda torn between 4070 laptops - Lenovo Legion Slim 5 (have my doubts about thermals and noise having prior experience with 2022 model, no USB4/TB4 ports), Zephyrus G16 (pricy, almost $1k more expensive), and TUF F15
if your buying a Zephyrus G16 do not buy the RTX 4070 version its a very stricken down version with a lot less features

So im a little torn between this tuf 4070 build and the rog strix 4060 build. You gave both very good reviews. I like the look of the strix better and like the screen better as well. Also has a 13th gen cpu and ddr5. But the trade off to go up to a 4070 makes it worth it? I can get the tuf for 1149 right now and the strix is about 1272.00. The tuff display only being 1080 is still good? This would be for me mainly used for work trips and playing games like bg3 and mmos (currently New World). Contemplating on getting a few fory kids for xmas too. Oldest graduates high school this year and will be off to college. Younger is a sophomore. Guess my question for the just over 1000 dollar range is this better than the strix 4060? Would it be worth it to upgrade the memory to 32gb of ddr3? Only about 100 bucks to do so.
The 4070 in F15 is more value, but Strix has the bling bling RGB unicorn lights. Up to you!
What about the display? Most budget laptops cheap out on displays. I would consider checking both laptops displays in person. Cuz end of the day what will matter the most will be the display quality. You won't even realise the performance difference of the 4070 and 4060 but the display is something you will always notice.

Unfortunately I heard about this great laptop today. Just baught an MSI Cyborg 15 A12VF for 1100$ about 10 days ago. Everything was just fine with that but the only problem was rtx 4060 45w. It was the only negative point I didn't notice. Hope I could sell it sooner and get this Laptop. I did a bit of research and every review was positive. In my country I can't get it under 1280$ but I think it is worth it. I would really apperciate any comment and thought about my choise on this laptop.

My cpu hits 95c and my gpu hits 74 almost 75c at 140fps when I play wz2/wz3. That's pretty bad temps from what I saw through my research. Should i just return it since I wanna keep the high fps? I'm pretty much decreasing the life span of my laptop really quick. Am I better off getting a pc if I want that steady fps of 140 with low temps? Also I literally have the same specs as you do on my asus tuf f15. If anyone could let me know thank you!
try getting a good laptop cooling pad it makes a world of difference
It's normal, the i7 is safe to operate all the way up to 105°, it shouldn't hit that, but if you're 90-100° consider it "normal" , uv is also a possiblity to lower Temps slightly. To around 85° or so when pushing hours of gaming
turn off the turbo boost and enjoy bro

The cooling system is both excellent. The Display on the Neo 16 was a bit brighter at 400 nits.

@notunauthorized I bought the a16 for 750 and I made the right decision. You will have a much better viewing experience with the 16:10, and the overall build quality and ddr5 ram. You can get a 1tb ssd for about $60-$75 with this year's deals.

I didnt like the tinny sound at the shop. Big tip play some classic Orchestra music from a venue,even if they play a Favourite movie . It shows up the speakers better . Pop music is far too digitally made. The WASD baklights keys gets your left eye all the time -Its distracting

If you optimize correctly and disable Nvidia GPU, you should be able to get 4-6 hours no problem, possibly more.

I have an option to buy TUF with Ryzen 9 7940hs instead of Intel CPU and 16gb ddr5 and 1tb, is this still a good deal for 1500€ in EU (1680$)?
i also bought a similar configuration, with 7940hs, 4070, 16gb ddr5, 1tb ssd and QHD 165hz DCI-P3 screen.
so far, i'm really satisfied with it, it's one of the cheapest 4070 laptops available, and while it's obvious it falls into the more budget space, it doesn't cut any major corners.
but i'd say it's worth for that ryzen cpu alone. most laptops ship with intel, which is still manufactured in 10nm, while Ryzen is in 5nm.
at full power, both this ryzen and the equivalent 13700h from intel will perform about the same.
but the 7940hs trumph card is efficiency at lower wattage. below 65 watts it just performs much better than Intel, and even at 30 Watts it reaches 13000 points in Cinebench.
not only that, but the new integrated 780m RDNA 3 integrated graphics is amazing as well.
It can run all older games without problems, and allows your 4070 to rest :)
compared to the past generation, there're no major performance gains in the lower-mid end, but the efficiency and performance at lower wattages are greatly improved.
TLDR: yes, it's a good deal for 1500€, with a better CPU that's more efficient and has great integrated graphics as a bonus!

How does this compare to Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 ?
G14 is more portable and has a much better screen (brighter, more colorful, higher res). Ryzen CPU vs Intel CPU. Pretty comparable overall. G14 also much more expensive.

Both are decent options. I would suggest making a pros and cons list. The Alienware sounds like better bang for the buck, but laptops right now are going through a lot of sales, so might be best to just wait for that perfect sale and be 100% in knowing you got the one you wanted. Check my laptop list for the current sales. Just updated a few mins ago.

I bet if you do maintenance to the laptop and update the RAM and the storage you might get this laptop to perform amazingly 4 years, solid the next 4 and good enough for annother 4 years for a total of 12 years of service. Ofcourse, the last 4 wont be for hardcore use, but it will still outperform most budget laptops if used for home and office tasks like browsing, movies, microsoft office and other much more simple tasks than gaming, streaming and rendering.
My old laptop is a Lenovo Ideapad with a 3th gen i7 and a GTX 660m and it still runs amazingly well. Im ordering this exact laptop right now to replace it and I'm giving mine to my house for my children and wife to browse, watch movies, do homework, send emalis and other simple tasks and I think it might serve them well 2 more years (it is 10 years old now and I only updated the original HDD to a 1tb SSD and got windows 11 in it)
Got it, I finally have the Exact laptop on this video review and I'm loving it!!! Actually, Im posting from the Laptop. It is fast, feels great, looks amazing, is both professional and gaming in the visual department, not noisy at all, great keyboard, amazing trackpad. But the speakers... those are trash!!! yeah, they are only laptop speakers, but I absolutely hate them.
now, anyone with a link for a hard case? like those for Apple products that offer some minor protection to the outside against scratching and minor bumps.

Got this laptop for $980 at Best Buy and next day they sold out of these. I upgraded the RAM to 48gb and I am set for a few years.
My Turbo mode is not highlghted so I can't select it? Why not?
