Thanks for the review. I'm looking forward to buy it.
You're welcome! 😀
Was just looking at this laptop in store and thinking: what's it going to be like in one year? Then found your useful review. Thanks!
this has to be the best review so far on the Asus tuf
Thanks man! i've been searching for this kind of review for about a week now, and u have the most honest and most accurate of them all, lol ive been using my 2019 asus tuf fx505dy since the day of its release, I am also a video editor and its giving me headache on editing videos as well, it stutters a lot while scrubbing on the timeline. now I think im going to need an upgrade and this Video helped me decide which laptop should I buy next! Thank you for this good review! Kudos to u!
You're welcome man, this is really a complete package laptop you know, you have gaming, performance for different workloads, good normal battery life but i strongly suggest you to get the 90wh, i've been always telling people this as the laptop here in this video is only 48wh!
It is one of the best bang for your buck pc's out there, I was looking at a few others in the same range and it came out on top for me. I picked a refurbished one up at a pretty good price
thx this was a lot of help
I just bought it as my own christmas present, i just need to upgrade the RAM and i'm set for several years it seems ! Great laptop, thanks for re assuring me with your review
Yes, congrats! 😀 Just let me know if you need help about it!
How many ram is enough? I think I’ll be switching it to 32 gb or 24gb I’m not sure if that’s good or not
if i remember correctly its better to have the same ram in each slot (2x8GB or 2x16GB) , so i went for 2x16GB it's pretty cheap nowadays and it works perfectly@@takunde

@@hermezx have you any suggestion to keep battery health when playing games. I usually playing game using the same Asus TUF like yours but mine is core i5 12th with RTX3050
recently got mine delivered, mine's the exact same but the RTX 2050 version, very helpful video!
Glad this helped, thank you! 😁
I had tuf 505dt back in 2018 still working great
That's good to know, more than half a decade already but i thought 505DT was released quite later on, not really sure tho..
Just bought one last month with RTX 2050 for $700, brand new with a 3-year warranty, love it.
The gaming/ working temperature is around 80-90 degrees tho, I know it's normal for a laptop but still triggers my inner OCD a little when it's above 80-85. Guess I'll change the thermal paste later on
That's nice, it used to be only 1-year warranty, glad they provide more service for ASUS TUF as it gets popular mid to high range laptops! I don't think you need to change thermal paste, that's already good but if you want to, it's fine changing paste will definitely improve temps!
Bro pls can u help me out ... I just bought it last week same type as yours ... But it feels lagging even on 144hz
Im kinda worried
I havent use it for three days yet
@@bluejcold7453
Idk man you should ask your seller first. If it has a warranty just ask them about the problem, worst case scenario for the laptop they'll give you a new one
Unless you bought an old one with no warranty, that's kinda is problematic. I'm not there so idk the real cause of the problem so I can only guess:
1. If it's laggy even in normal use like web-browsing or office works, try to use it while charging, it won't run at its fullest on battery
2. If you're talking about gaming, it's still a mid-range laptop, it can't run smoothly most of the new-gen games, so try lower the settings. For lighter games like e-sports, try turning on V-sync or lock fps
Hey really nice video:D
But I have a question for you as you use your laptop for this long. Do you like using a laptop or your phone? I mean which device do you prefer to use if you could do everything on both the devices and were not tied up to one or the other bcs of their capabilities.
I would still choose using laptop, the problem is battery life on this specific model, which is the lowest variant.
Good review ❤
Glad you liked it, thank you! 😀
I'm so glad I watched this video before I decided to buy a laptop. I spent months searching for something that's worth my money, and I have this model on my list. I must say that this kind of laptop review, where you went in depth with the longevity of this laptop, helped me decide to buy one. I went with the exact same model, but with an RTX 3050ti. I haven't regretted buying it since then. Thank you.

I have the asus tuf gaming f15 with 1650 it still a beast bought it cheap for 450 in vietnam in september 2021
Good buy, 1650 is still something up to date and performing well! 😀
same laptop, 1 year old also.. mine got a scratch on left CTRL button due to fingernail.. should have been using a separate keyboard like yours so i maintain the keys looking good. other than that, this review is accurate based on my experience 👍
Thanks man, appreciate it! Yeah, you should have especially when gaming!
Can I know the keyboard you're using in this video? Also Im planning on getting the i7 12700h rtx 4060 or 4070 model for high end video editing (vegas pro,AE) & gaming is that good enough for next few years? That 14 core processor gonna benefit me a lot!
Royal Kludge RKG68, yes, definitely, but make sure to get the highest battery variant around 90wh, it's gonna be your main device so its good for the long run!
my laptop is f15 too but i use it for 1 year to and and booting is like 20 seconds because theres this skip disck checking and error so theres no problem for me love your vid
Thanks for the support, appreciate it! 😀
I literally have 20 high end apps and my asus tuff gaming laptop f15 takes 10 seconds to boot up
Thanks for the review, btw i been thinking to buy asus tuf (i5-12500) or acer nitro 5 (i5-12450). Mind to give your opinion?
This is purely based on my opinion, they both offer same price as mid range laptop, but i would say ASUS TUF is more worth what you're paying for, ASUS TUF and ROG already have good reputation, based on my experience, i never regretted my ASUS TUF F15 but i wish, i had gone for 90wh battery! Right now as well, seen a few Acer Nitro users selling their laptops because of different kinds of issues.
@@hermezx I appreciate your opinion. It's something I will surely consider.

Hey man I want to buy this laptop I save money very hard ritz 3050 for my gaming and programming does it worth? Does it overheat ?
And how is battery life ?

I use the same unit TUF FX506HCB, after 2 years of using it, it finally showed signs of LCD problems. The LCD had some discoloration in the sides. The discoloration only shows when my screen is in black screen. And the Battery Health of my Asus Tuf F15 is 72%. I even cap my battery to 80% using MyAsus. Overall the performance is the best. But the LCD in the long-run is not good. I guess its normal for it to burn due to continuous rendering and playing heaving AAA games. I also suggest to never use Turbo Mode, it would only damage your LCD. Don't make the same mistake as I did. Right now my Asus TUF is still good. But I have to replace the LCD which costs like 15% of the original price on when I bought this. I purchased this last April 2022.
Thankfully, my ASUS TUF F15 haven’t reach any of these problem yet. Looks like a good reason for you to upgrade or get a new one!
This is a better review for laymen who just wants to know whats the problem with the laptop and will it work long term. Thank you

Yes, straight to the point, thank you!
Nice video .. Have you tried connecting the laptop to an external display for gaming. Should we use the thunderbolt port or the HDMI port for the best experience?. I just bought mine(ASUS TUF F15, i5-11400H, RTX 205) yesterday.
yes tried in different kinds of monitors even on ultrawide, surprisingly work better than macbooks in terms of connectivity on external monitors! You can only use the HDMI, the usb-c port doesn't support external monitor or charging.
But@@hermezx HDMI port is using I-GPU right but the type C thunderbolt port is via D- GPU- in that case i thought type c might provide better output. can u pls check once and let me know. I tried via type c and was able to use the monitor
I managed to order it with i5 12th gen and rtx 3050 for 600€ which is one of the best deals I ever found. Hopefully it performs well!
Where did you find that? 🤯
Just bought for my daughter, same spec i5 12500h rtx3050. almost same price in my country
thank you so much
You’re welcome! 😄
would really appreciate if you could show us how you optimized your laptop. thanks!
Yes, already finishing it, upload would be tomorrow or next day! 👍🏻
yo brother i can feel your gona be the next big thing. you have 24 gigs ram is it 2 rams of 12gb each? i have 8gb ram for my a15 planning to go for another 8 . what differences u felt with high gigs of ram? should i go for 16gb or 24?
My RAM Setup is 16gb + 8gb! Yes, 16gb is what i really recommend! There's huge difference between 8 and 16gb, your system, application, games would easily consume your 8gb, so settling for 16gb will give you a window room for your laptop to run faster and smoothly!
I have the same laptop with a 3050ti and was considering buying a laptop stand or cooler. Did it make a noticeable difference in your experience? Also in this this video you said you used both. How did you use both a laptop stand and a laptop cooler at the same time.
The laptop stand itself had a noticeable difference right from the start, laptop cooler without stand is fine as well but not as much effective as the laptop stand itself, so for best results try to get both! (also there's a lot of laptop cooler 2-1 as well with built in adjustable stand and elevation)
i'm glad i bought the i7 12700h and rtx 4060, it runs any Triple A games above 60 fps 1080p, i also can edit on it like a whole day with a smooth experience.
That's even better if you got the highest battery, beast!

Hey man, quick question, I just watched your 6 months review of F15 and I'm planning to buy it soon. My question is, how did you fix the wifi problem? I'm kinda concerned about that since I don't want to have another thing to spend on, other than upgrading it. Thank you for your time!
Primarily what worked for me is Windows 11 Update and permanently fixed it other than the two ways i said in this video! I don’t think you should be concerned over that because i assume (if i’m right) that you would be purchasing the 2023 version! It has newer wifi driver version and advanced wifi 6! Only the 2021 ver and almost mid 2022 stocks has the issue, no need to worry about that.
Thank you very much! I commented before watching so I didn't know you included the ways to fix it in the video. I'm planning to buy the same version of yours, since the 2023 version is kinda out of my budget atm 😅. Your review is awesome, truly concise and direct to the point! I appreciate the help, keep it up!

Does it over heat while gaming?

whats the editing app you use shown in the video?
I am new to PC gaming, I've seen some good things about this laptop. As I'm new, I don't know where to start and don't want to spend a lot of money on something that's going to break. If I was to but this laptop what cooling system / stand would you recommend. Also how do I get to understand specs/RAM/performance since I am new?
I advise you to check more laptop/pc videos to find what's suitable for your need, any laptop cooler will do as long as the fan power and speed are good, alongside with your research for models, you're gonna across more knowledge and eventually get there!
Hey man, Thanks to you as I've been looking for this kind of review for almost a month. I would like to ask regarding the brightness of this unit, have you tried using it outdoors? how was your experience?
Also, I'm stuck on choosing between Asus TUF F15 (i5 - 11400H / 8GB RAM / 512GB SSD / RTX3050 4GB) and Acer Nitro 5 (i5 - 12500H / 8GB RAM / 512GB SSD / RTX3050 4GB). I found you are very responsive to every person here in the comment section. I would like to ask your thoughts regarding these two units as I'm having a hard time choosing which one of them. I'm eager to hear your opinion, Man. Thank you in advance.
As for the brightness, it's reliable and colors are also accurate even using it outside, but if you're an editor or has something to do with color accuracy, there's this adjustments on its Armoury Crate and NVIDIA that can make things pop more saturated!
Man, this might be funny but that also my situation before! 😂 I also considered Acer Nitro 5 but the problem is the Acer Nitro 5 has a lot of reviews regarding underperformance and temperature issues that doesn't make sense. I would really suggest ASUS TUF F15 because it's already tested and i haven't had any regrets choosing this laptop! It's 1 year plus old already and still a beast and haven't had any battery issues even if it's plugged in all the time! Welcome!
@@hermezx Aight! Thanks, man! I was also thinking the same and based on my observation of the nitro 5 issues; it usually happens to their low-tier specs especially to old models, idk when it comes to the latest 2022-2023 model. Well, your opinion convinces me to choose TUF F15 over Nitro 5 haha Thanks to you, Man!

I have a PC. However, i'm in IT, finishing this year at University. I decided earlier, I wanna buy a laptop. Mainly for daily stuff, programming, sometimes gaming. Do you think its good for it?
Definitely no man, this is not good for full time students, you should go for Macbook or Surface laptops!
Very much detailed review!
I am looking forward to buy the one with rtx 2060 and it costs around 800 CAD(576 USD) should I go for it sir?
That's incredibly cheap, where will you buy this? Is it from partnered shops or physical stores? i5, 16GB RAM and RTX 2060 plays around 750~850 USD as brand new!
i bought ryzen 7 6800 hs rtx 2050 16 gb ddr5 ram for $860, so go for it u re a lucky one.
And I bought it on Nepal and converted to USD.
Very good video thank you so much, But what do you think about asus tuf f15 now after 3 years because i want to buy one and i am scared of the high temperature
This is 2021 model, but i bought it last year(2022), still good and amazed with its performance. High temperature can be easily fix, what you should be considering is Battery Life, because it only offers 3hrs close to 4hrs with very strict usage. You should aim for 90wh battery or if you’re not a gamer, go for apple macbooks

Damn not upgrading your storage, kudos to you bro you probably have good storage management hahaha, I can't live with my 512 GB, I need to upgrade hahaha
I think you got it wrong man, it's actually 1.5TB, added another 1TB M.2 SSD because yeah, i also can't live with 512gb lol 😂
Owwww I see, I thought you were using the stock 512GB in the reference part of the video hahaha but yeah Asus Tuf here too, I am planning to upgrade it since I am about to use it more over my desktop
I have a asus tuf f15 as well as in terms of editing it kinda shows how much more powerful the 3060 gpu is as I did use it for 4k 60fps or hz editing and it did it like like clock work, the other thing is that the battery life in my experience is amazing as the only thing you need to do is to reconfigure the lid and button functions on battery to hibernate since before I did that I would get 6 hours tops but once I did that I now get 10 to 12 hours but since the battery health went down I can say I do get 8 to 9 hours at 80% brightness which is very good in my opinion. They keyboard is great for a laptop but the mouse trackpad is small for me, the speakers are really good for two down wards facing speakers and the other thing is that the gaming on it is also really good getting stable fps. The IGPU is what surprised me the most since it is really fast for editing and exporting as it was quite a bit faster then the desktops in the video production class as for gaming it is also really good too.
That's cool especially the battery life, but even with the 90wh! i don't think it's possible, maybe you're using the latest models on this F series!
I'm new to this gaming laptop concept and couldn't decide which laptop suits me better.
My requirements are
I play apex legends and CS2 more. Sometimes I'll do some light Photoshop works. Also rare case I play offline games like Dishonored, Dishonored 2, Mirrors edge & Mirrors edge catalyst. I don't play most high end PC games. Would you recommend me a gaming laptop based on my need. And my budget is 60k. Thanks in advance.
This clarifies that what you really need is a Windows Laptop, there's a lot of options out there like TUF, ROG, MSI, Predator! I think you need to look at laptops that suits your taste on physical design first and narrow it down and let me know! Apex Legends and CS2 is mid end game (i play apex as well) and you don't need insane specs for it. I would suggest to place your minimum choice on getting 16GB RAM, i5 processor or Ryzen 5 and RTX Card!
I have a Asus Tuf F15 Gaming laptop which i recently purchased and it has RTX 3050ti with Intel i7 11gen processor and it works really great and yeah i also Got panicked When i heard the Noise of fans which were moving around 5600rpm which was loud but no issues and I got it under $1000
You got better deal than mine, nice specs for that value!
I am considering buying this is it worth ?
Im thinking to buy the i7 12th gen 'h' processor and rtx 4060 model ,what do you think about heating and other problems because the seller here in my country said the company "removed this model because of overheating and bottleneck of rtx 4060 with i7 processor"
Should i but it ?
Please reply .
I have the same laptop. F15 TUFF GAMING I5-11400H, RTX 3050 TI, 16GB RAM AND 1T SSD. I already used it around 2 years from now so far its good. My concern is can we access the other rgb pattern for keyboard in Armory Crate except for the 4 basic RGB like strobing, breathing, static, and color cycle? I want to change it badly like the rainbow or music or maybe starry night. If have some idea please let me know.
Unfortunately, that's the only set of lighting modes it has and supported by Armoury Crate.
Thanks for this comprehensive review. I'm planning on replacing my Legion 5 with this laptop soon because Lenovo turned out to be a failed brand.
Glad this review helped! 👍🏻
What happened with your Lenovo? I'm wondering, between tuf f15 i7 12th rtx 3050 and legion 5 2022 i5 12th rtx3050ti, which device should I buy? Legion is more expensive than tuf.
@@hoctailieu413 The motherboard fried itself after 11 months of use, and since the warranty had already expired by the time the laptop died (I was away on a trip and left the laptop stored back home) they told me it'd take 25 days to ship its costly motherboard at my own expense.
After extensive research online, I found numerous similar cases to mine, and all were Lenovo laptops (especially the Legion lineup). I decided to sell it for scraps and never buy a Lenovo product ever again.
i just bought it it feels amazing ordered 8gb another stick too hoping that davinci resolve playback will be smoother on dual channel 8x8gb ram
Good choice! 16gb ram is the way to go!
@@hermezx thanks man and difference is litreally noticable on 16 gb it was def worth , preview window of davinci is way to smooth now !
while gaming do you keeping ur charging port on or wait till it gets low battery?
I always game on TURBO Mode while plugged in, gaming is still possible on battery but not as much as powerful as plugged in and it will drain your battery heavily!
What's the specific model of your laptop cooler?
Cooler Master X150 Spectrum!
do you think if i use a laptop cooler the temp will drop? also nice vid btw
Yes, but minimal drops only on the temp, drastic changes is guaranteed if you have elevation paired with it! Thanks!
@@hermezxwith elevation u mean to have up with some support the laptop so the low of the laptop can be "free" , can pass air , ?
@@claudiociucur9306 yes, that alone can improve thermals especially for gaming, laptop cooler is only a must if people have budget, elevation stand will do!
Can you post the link where you bought your cooling pad and laptop stand?
The laptop stand is just a generic one you can find online and the cooling pad is Cooler Master Spectrum X150!
I’ve been using Asus laptops for 10 years. My first was ROG GL552jx and the second was ROG GL503vm, both of them suddenly died at 5th year of use even though I always repaste them annually. I still don’t know what I should buy for my next laptop, do you think 5 years is a good use for electronics?
Yeah, you definitely well preserved your laptop! I'm even just aiming for 2~3 years for mine
Well 5 years is good for gaming laptops
Thank uuu , i already bought mine i am arch student
Great! glad this video helped! 👍
@Hermez. Do you think Asus Tuf F15 with i7 12700H tends to get too hot for longivity. Because I saw videos playing Dota 2 (my main game) and there the cpu temps are all the time 95-97°
For Dota 2 max settings, it's quite possible to reach that temp but obviously that's already a problem. I covered Dota 2 as well on my ULTIMATE GAMING TEST, if you're curious about the fps and temps, you can check it out! -> czcams.com/video/v5QWqw4Lhbo/video.html
Can you please tell me the name and link to the website where i can buy this exact same laptop cooling pad
Cooler Master Spectrum X-150! I don’t have a link it but surely you can check it out on their official manufacturer website!
What keyboard were you using? Additionally, do you have any better recommendations compared to the F15? My budget is approximately $1250.
The keyboard is Royal Kludge G68, with that kind of budget you can settle for TUF F15 2022 as well with 32gbs of RAM and 90wh battery!
@@hermezx alrighty, tysm for replying
Just to check. By default, how many Gb of ram did you got it? I am planning to buy only can see an 8gb ram. I presume there is an extra slot for additional ram.
Original 16gb (8+8) and spot on upgraded to 24gb (16+8), yes dual channel supported for this gaming laptop! That will do, you can upgrade anytime in the future!
@@hermezx thanks. Which one is compatible for this laptop? Ddr3 or ddr4?
Mine is newer than this i have the intel i7 nividia Gforce RTX 4070 graphics card and 1TB storage paid over 1000 for it at best buy they didn't have one at the store so i had to order it from there website my DDR4 8GB my battery 4 cell 90wh
I also have asus auf a15 bro.normally she heat 70 - 80 °c while gaming.....is it imortant to plug her an external cooling fan?
Which software do you use for vedio editing?
Adobe Premiere Pro!
would like to ask what is the performance of your laptop when on battery using dGPU. Follow-up question, what do you use when you're on battery, dGPU or iGPU?
dGPU on Battery is not the best way to use it but i tried it before.
dGPU on Battery Mode = 2 hours of heavy editing with Spotify On and Chrome.
It will be longer and more battery efficient if i used iGPU but i just had to finish the work outside that’s why i did that.
Always use iGPU on battery!
And he become less faster in battery mode
It this a trouble or normal? Thnx
Saying key's aren't fading after 1 year of use isn't really a compliment...it would be insanity if they fade at all even after a few years of intense use. I still use my desktop keyboard from 2013...yes, its almost 11 years old and its working like new even though im on it for hours and hours each day.
I need to say it to generalize for viewers as well that the print quality of the built-in keyboard is good, especially there are users that would use this laptop without dedicated keyboard, gaming is somewhat force extensive activity that may damage the prints and fade it over the time.
hey currently I am facing one problem in this laptop, by mistakenly I changed my system username (or file username) in command prompt so how can I rename this. ( I watched so many videos in CZcams regarding this but no one videos could fix this problem)
if anyone knows about it, please reply me it will be helpful to me😥
same prroblem please help me.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the past few months, I've been researching laptops for editing purposes, needing one that can handle programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma and mild gaming. Despite encountering many options, my budget constrained me. Eventually, I settled on the Asus TUF F15, which is currently en route and set to arrive tomorrow. Initially, I was concerned due to negative comments about the laptop, but after watching your review, I feel reassured and grateful. Thank you for the insightful and helpful video!
Thanks you, appreciate it! My current 1 year and 6 months review might help you on assurance that it's a good investment!
What brand of keyboard, mouse, and cooling pad stand do you use on your laptop?
Keyboard: Royal Kludge
Mouse: Logitech
The cooling pad stand has no brand, it's just available almost everywhere!
your rgp mount fan name plz?
Hi very good review for this model, i have a question i want to buy a laptop and i am thinking about an Asus TUF F15 with i7-12700H and 4050 but i heard that this model have problems with cooling system and i wonder what u think about that.
Also keep up with this good stuff👏
I'm assuming that you're going for 2023 model, it's fine! More advanced than this version! As for this model, other opinions regarding thermals are mixed as users have different kind of sensitivity on how they see temperature problems, as for mine 87 degree celsius on high settings gaming is natural with no lags or error, that's not something to be alarmed on laptop. The only deal breaker that you should be concerned of is the normal 3~4 hrs of battery life on mixed usage (generally windows laptops)
@@hermezx thank you. I went for an LOQ15 with amd and it does a very good job
@@sebastianvlaicu46how is the loq going because i too cant decide from TUF and LOQ same specs as u asked , help me out my guy
@@UltraxHere it does a great job in games i didnt have any problems, run any game with no problem like cod, fc 24 or rocket with at least 300 fps. Also does a very good job in day to day tasks and is not loud. I enjoyed for the time i had, if u can get for a fair price its a good choice.
The only thing i dont like is the battery without plug in , cant last for a fotball game..
Hey man nice video.. i have a question tho.. i have asus tuf f15 with an i5 10th gen 1650... my temps go around 95 degrees when i play games on turbo mode... i disabled the processor power boost mode but then my performance decreased do you have any method to increase performance but decrease the temperature?
This is just my assumption, are you using Armoury Crate to view temperatures? if yes, it's not really reliable accurate monitoring temperature because of over-reading (something like that) Try installing other monitoring applications to get real accurate results like NZXT CAM that i use then let me know if it's still the same!
@@hermezx accurate with hwinfo is 95/ 96 degrees.. um do u have any solution for the heating problem while playing.
@@OnlyJester Try this, it this make huge difference in preserving battery and maintaining good temperatures -> Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Power Options - Turbo - Changed settings - Set Maximum Processing State to 99%
@@hermezx aight will try and let yk.. btw thnx for replying. Appreciate it
@@hermezx still same bro
what cooler do you use or recommended?
Cooler is necessary but anything will do, the most important thing is elevation stand! The cooler that i've used here is Cooler Master Spectrum X-150!
im watching this video on my asus tuf f15 rtx2050
Ayeeeee, #asustufgang🤘
Asus is well know for heavy duty units. If you want a laptop that can go through in rigorous situation go for Asus tuf. Btw I'm using Asus tuf f15 i7 12th gen
Specially how it optimizes the thermals for different situations! 😀
I'm planning buy a Asus tuf15 i7-11800h RTX 3050 1tb storage variant I do gaming but not too much and I run after effects what's your thoughts on this?
@@aryang4518 Totally fine, it will now just come down to RAM. If you have a budget, probably go for 32gb RAM for faster editing/render/export and time sensitive stuff. 16gb is just fine as well!
@@hermezx how about I buy 16b variant and upgrade it later btw may I know what's your thoughts on Acer Nitro V RTX 4050 6gb vram i5-13450H with 16gb ddr5 ram my only concern is acer's thermals and longevity that's why I prefered asus
@@hermezx it is a 11th gen is it fine?
it is possible to change the processor of this laptop and mount a 12th generation i7 for example
Nope, that's not possible because it's an intergrated one, some parts like RAM and SSD can be modified.
