GRAND JUNCTION, CO- MTB @ the Ribbon Trail. Ribbon Rides Part I: The Legendary Ribbon!
The Ribbon is probably my favorite Western Colorado trail and it has everything a rider could ask for in 3 miles. Even so much, that MRP deciding to name their newest fork after the 1,500 ft. of descendinglikeademon moments of mountain biking glory. Ribbons of entrada sandstone, technical climbs, flow, chunk, sketch drops, high speeds etc. the Ribbon has it. The views are stellar with scenes of the Colorado and Gunnison Rivers, the Bookcliffs and Roan Plateau, the Grand Mesa, and to the southeast you can catch a glimpse of the 14,306 ft. Uncompahgre Peak and the Black Canyon National Park. This is Colorado.
Getting there: The Ribbon Trail is accessed by the Ribbon Trailhead. Take Little Park Road south for about 7 miles to the Trailhead. The TH does have a outhouse at the top.
Shuttle option: leave a vehicle at the Tabeguache Trailhead and shuttle a vehicle to the Ribbon. Shorter options include leave vehicle around primitive parking near the Andy’s drop in, entrance to the lunch line, or Little Park TH (also known as First Flats I think).
Climbing, if you can’t arrange a shuttle with some buddies climbing is your only option. The Road: From Tabeguache, you can mash up the climb to Little Park Road however you want just get there and climb roughly ~2,000 ft. to the Ribbon. This can take 1.5 to 3 hours depending on fitness level. Again you can shorten the climb by starting at Andy’s drop in or Little Park TH, but that also shortens the quality of the downhill.
When wrapping up the Ribbon you are faced with a great many option. This is what the Ribbon rides mini series is about. A right will take you the central hub for the lunch loops with several ride options available. A left will take you on Andy’s to a really fun downhill next to the East Gate of the Colorado National Monument.

This is my favorite Ribbon video hands down. There is so much you are doing right with your videos. I love the drone footage, especially on technical features or where I might have options to consider. The voice over with details and tips is just right: helpful, to the point, and without too much chatter. I really like hearing the ride and not some random music. On this note, thanks for not just talking constantly. I have unsubscribed from some of these guys as they just won't stop yapping! I see a snowball effect coming in your subscriber number as you are filling a niche that has just the right kind and amount of content to be both informative and fun for riders interested in your area. Thanks for the effort!!!
Matthew Pearce! This is great feedback! It really means a lot and good feedback like this helps me get better, which is my goal. I want to be different! Dude, I 100% agree with the during video "talking". I made videos in the past where I did do too much talking and went to the video editing process and threw files in the trash because they were garbage. Nothing worse than me riding up to a highlight section and I'm blabbing about nothing important being an idiot, I can't edit that out and have to go back and reshoot. There's definitely a balance between keeping it real and semi professional. Thanks for appreciating the small details man, I see them too! And the music, I'm going to have a ride highlight reel come out next week, it will have music, but outside of highlights and special video releases, we're keeping the music out. Copyrights aren't worth dealing with at all and so many other guys out there have been successful with music-less POV, to me I watch to see and hear the ride like yourself. Again thanks for the feedback and I'll keep up my efforts and continue to get better!

TBB! Thanks man! That was my goal, get some comprehensive information on the Ribbon. YOU HAVE to get your two wheeler on that thing. Its snowy and icy now, but get out there in when it thaws and pre ride it.

LOL thanks Jerry! I couldn't get any of my buddies to ride that thing even though they all have. Its pretty crazy, it hasn't rained there quite some time so the whole waterfall is covered in so much sand.
I can't clear the waterfall! I commend any who can and or will try! I know Brandon from Ruby!! You guys all look like pretty good riders!! It was a cool video, you guys where definitely having some fun!
hahaha lol Sweet! That dang waterfall fall though. We all know we can clear it, but riding it out on the bike the whole way is a different story for all of us. The group rides are too much!

The Lunch Loops are full of it! The trail combo of Free Lunch (by Ribbon) to Pucker up, to Moto is actually called "Max Gnar!" some crazy stuff mixed in! You'd have to watch my "Epic Ride" video and you can see the highlights of all that mashed up into one!

What's the easiest way to bike to the top if you don't have a shuttle?
Pedal push up little park road starting at your preferred trail head. Time frames can be anywhere for 1.5 hours to 3 hours depending on fitness.
@@OutdoorGold Good to know, I'm from outta town and I signed up for the Grand Enduro and I wanna come down and pre-ride the course sometime before the actual race. I won't likely have a shuttle when I do, so thanks for the heads up.

I think I may have seen you and crashing dad, I got all excited when I saw a black and orange yeti next to a blue altitude I wanted some stickers haha. But it looked like you guys were finished and just collecting your vehicles from the shuttle. Maybe next time I'll catch ya. Thanks for the advice! The Ribbon is pretty gnarly.
mhmm of it was this Saturday, that was us, probably saw you going up the road. We had to get my truck and then pick up Paul the Punter on the bottom. But that climb is brutal! I know that! Good to hear you made it the Ribbon! 🤘🤘🤘
