That feeling when your own langage (Finnish) comes on and you're confused for a moment as to why you suddenly understand what the guy is talking about :DD
tämä :D suomee ei muutenkaa koskaa mainita missää. torille
sama !!
I don't know why but sometimes I can't tell the different between Spanish and Greek (spoken). The accent is way too similar.
i only needed to hear the first two words of the first recording to realise that the speaker was choking on a potato
It's very hard to hear some of the clips to get the distinct differences between the languages
I didn't recognize Polish, but I recognized Lewandowskis voice :D
Why are some European counties taken out of the map ?
Why Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Montenegro and FYROM are blue like a NON-EUROPEANS COUNTRIES?
I just picked up a random picture from google...
Gabriel Vass lol imagine those actually werent in Europe i bet they beg like hungry dogs. Why does it matter ffs
That threw me off, too.
Kosova is missing too
Really upset about number 15, why couldn’t you add in the actual language instead of an accent? Each of the examples have their own native languages that were stolen by the English. And just a correction for one of the options in #6, it’s Gaeilge not Gaelic. Gaelic is a sport or the umbrella term for the Celtic languages
if im not wrong, "Gaelige" is the endonym for Irish (i.e. in Irish, the Irish language is called "Gaelige"), but in English, generally only "Irish" (which could be confused for Irish English) or "Gaelic" (which can refer to Irish, Scottish Gaelic and sometimes Manx Gaelic) is used. also yeah Gaelic also is a noun referring to a sport and an adjective in describing anything related to the Gaels
i agree that the fact that Gaelic can refer to three distinct (albeit related) languages is a bit dumb, but imo saying that Irish/Gaelic should be "Gaelige" is like Danish should be known as "dansk" in English or Catalan as "català". im not opposed to changing it tho, Gaelige looks nicer than Gaelic haha
Where is Euskera/Basque? The oldest or one of the oldests languages in Europe.
When the first that pops out is your own language, i was not expecting that lol
Surely that was Scots, and not merely Scottish-accented English? I only understood about half of it.
Imagine I’m British and have spoken English all my life and It took me a while to realise 15 was English 😬😬😬
Jay lmao Scottish will do that to ya
😂😂😂😂
Who else didn't think the last one was English? ( I heard "number one" but I thought he was quoting a title or something)
I haven't recognized the Polish language at first, but I did recognize Robert Lewandowski's voice.
Why dont put the right language when they stop speaking... i have no idea what i guessed correctly...
#4 wtf is “Moldovan” ? Moldovan isn’t a language, it’s a nationality.. Moldova speaks Romanian... the ignorance is sending me 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
It's probably because it's such an insignificant country
@@jcxb007 But Moldova is not a language on its own
14 was quite standard tbh..the voice talking about an austrian party is what gave it away to me.
Sorry my Romanian friends... it should be Simona Halep...
Gabriel Vass a da,lol chiar ea e
Yeas
Ea este mor =))
Mda...
It's her ... talking about her childhood when she used to dig two holes in the ground, insert poles, chalk some lines on the asphalt, and play a tennis of sorts against his brother, and doing the same tennis thing indoors (in the house) too.
11/15 it seems I have an ear for languages!
Why are some of the Balkans and Mediterranean islands shaded.
He run out of white color.
Turn on closed captions.
#8 Teemu Selänne after ice hockey bronze medal game 2014 Olympics
5/15 It was weird to think what finnish could sound like for non natives? Also Danish and norwegian sound so cozy while studying those.
trust me, for us who don't speak Finnish it sounds like complete gibberish lol
Tomu Vanamo It actually sounds good to me
Proud to be Norwegian
the first one (danish) literally triggered my PTSD
Why are the East and South Balkan countries gone? Same as some Mediterranean islands?
Are you from Bulgaria ?
Recognized Bulgarian, Greek, Polish, Portuguese, Finnish (sounded like Hungarian, but not really), Romanian, Turkish, German and there were a couple of Nordic languages and a Slavic language I was not sure of
11 of 15 :)
Was waiting for Iceland to show up
It didn’t
Austrian and Swiss are seperate languages... so are Welsh, Irish and Scottish. There's actually two Scottish languages.
Freddie Freaker Austrian and Swiss are German. In Austria Bavarian dialects are spoken and in Switzerland Alemannic dialects are spoken. Of course in Switzerland 30% are speaking romance languages and in the very west of Austria people are speaking a Alemannic dialect. I'm from Austria by my self and I know for many non native speakers it might be confusing, also because our dialects and the accent when talking highgerman are very "unice". Greetings from the alps!
Wait, I totally though Albanian was a weird Italian accent xD
The guy was an Arbëresh(his ancestors left Albania to go to Italy by the XV century) so he did have a strong Italian accent.
That was Luka Modrić speaking Croatian
13/15(missed Slovak and Albanian) :)
Next time you can add Ott Tänak from Estonia :)
8 of 15 right :D

Rohan R. How dare you say that swedish sounds like danish lol
4. Polish
Rohan R You got it right at 10th it was Luka Modric from Croatia but 14th was Austrian German it was speech fom our Chancelor Sebastian Kurz.
Litewski nie jest słowiański. 4 to polski. Zupełnie różne!
@@pistofalszywipatrioci both Slavic and Baltic languages come from a subfamily of Balto-slavic laguages. To someone who doesnt speak polish nor lithuanian they may seem simmilar. And it's not completely different, very simmilar actually
The Albanian version in 600 year old arbresh Albanian they still saved the language is immersive
Where are Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece and Montenegro on the map??
And turkey, island
And Kosova 🇽🇰? ?
Romanian, Czech, Polish, Scottish and German are what i didnt get D:
I tried the hard version and I got only 6 of them:
6) Portuguese
8) Finnish
9) Dutch
10) Croatian
14) German
15) English [scottish accent]
Also Turkey is painted blue in the map (so how could we have figured that one out?) :/
Italian Programmer because they're fool, my Italian friend. It is sad to see Europe hates us
#5 that accent lol 😆 work harder in albanian language brother keep it up 🇦🇱❤️
It's actually a normal arberesh accent
what in the word?? 5 is Albanian but the accent is not. where is he from lmaoo
@@markshadbolt3523 nope he said his name and also said he studies arts. he mentioned where he comes from but i couldn't understand it lol
@@kji2591 never heard of arberesh accent?
Yeah he is Arbëresh(Albanian in Italy) so of course he's gonna have an accent
cool
I missed english (scottish accent), even though my mothertongue is english HAHAHA. But I got a 9/15 which is fair enough I guess...
super
Hey person who is reading the comments while watching the video thinking that they will find some answers! #3 is Greek. Trust me, I live there.
Wow greek!? I tought it was italian!
is that "s" sound normal in standard Greek? I know the Greek "s" is retracted and different from English "s" but that sounds a lot more different than I thought it would
@@fuhlvee5555 He has an accent I think that's what confused most of the people trying to identify the language. I personally knew ot was Greek since I speak it but yeah the s sounds a little weird but I don't think it's completely off(I am not sure)
Okay srsly the austrian accent was so subtle I'm a native speaker and I hardly noticed
Vivien ÖVP hat’s verraten
I noticed right away
My guesses for hard version:
1. Danish (correct)
2. Serbian (wrong, but at least right area)
3. Romanian (way off)
4. Czech?? (wrong, but damn close, can I give myself a half point?)
5. Bulgarian??? (Wrong but not way off lol)
6. Portuguese (correct)
7. Norwegian (lets goooo, glaedelig jul alle sammen!)
8. Finnish (correct)
9. Dutch (correct)
10. Serbian?? (cmon, that‘s the exact same language. I’m giving myself that point)
11. Romanian (correct)
12. Hungarian? (way fucking off, sorry Hungarians)
13. Summin balkan (I guess. Half point?)
14. Southern German (nehmt, mir das nicht übel, Ösis)
15. Scottish english (yep)
Result: 10/15 (but with two half points)
Bulgarian is not simmilar to Albanian, and Slovakia is not in Balkans.
As someone from the same town as Cristiano i gotta say that was very unfare for non-portuguese speakers to guess xD we have a thicok accent some people from the mainland don't understand very well. I only guessed 4 in hard mode (one of them being my own languange and accent) and 9 in easy mode
Actually I disagree, Portuguese was one of the two languages in this quiz that I had no doubts about even though I don't speak it. This "au" sound in the end of the words instead of "al" made me absolutely sure.
I only managed to get Polish, Portuguese, German and English doing the hard version (and I speak German and English so...)
OMG #15 is English ? Even with a Scottish accent ? the only thing I got was ''numberrrr one' !
Yeah, it's a Glaswegian accent. A proper Glaswegian accent must be more or less impenetrable to foreign ears. Not as bad as some Irish accents though. A rural County Kerry accent is more or less impenetrable to any English speaker not from Ireland. There are so many different accents in the British Isles. It's crazy when you consider how small the isles are and how there are so many massively different accents.
#2 is my language, Bulgarian🇧🇬💖
I na men taka priqtel
Me: *watches*
*romanian woman starts speaking*
Me: *dies laughing*
Im romanian but idk why that seemed funny
Youțre laughing when Simona Halep is speaking?!? ts ts ts ts ... :D
@@cspresimir lol :)
#6 says Irish (Gaelic), actually the name is Gaeilge. Gaelic is the Scottish version language and Gaelic is an adjective in Ireland not the language. Honestly, saying Irish is enough to be clear you don't need to say Gaelic or Gaeilge.
@UCYuRroS-ixv6IZKqWGARDDg I know that, I speak Irish and Portuguese. I'm just trying to clear up information about my native language, Gaeilge.
Aoife Keeley thanks
@@aoifekeeley2190 very late but Gaelige is the Irish word for the Irish language, in English "Gaelic" generally refers to Scottish Gaelic, Manx Gaelic, Irish, some kind of sport I don't understand or anything related to the Gaels
@@fuhlvee5555 no, it isn't. The English word for Irish is Irish. Gaelic is the adjective used to describe the people, football, etc. I'm Irish, and fluent in Irish. We say Irish or Gaeilge. When people say Gaelic, we think they mean Scottish Gaelic.
Okay After watching this video I understand why foreigners say european languages Sound similar 😂
Place change "dutch(hol)" to "dutch(net)"
THE COUNTRY ISN'T CALLED HOLLAND IT'S THE NETHERLANDS

#4 łatwe :P
13 is just Slovak, not Czech
i just guessed portuguese, German and Scottish.
"Lithuanian-MOLDOVAN-Polish" wait, WHAT???? There is not a language like this!!!! "Moldovan" language doesn't even exist! It is ROMANIAN language, not Moldovan. I live in Republic of Moldova and I know what I am talking about, believe me!
It's politics bro, it's really dumb.
@@lazarvlaskalic6846 yes! Very dumb! I don't even understand why people say that Moldovan language exist. I mean wtf???
Are you fucking stupid have you never seen a multiple choice quiz??
Like you weren‘t offended about the other answers
The last one was Scots, not English. Two related but different languages.
That's debatable, I'd personally say it's a dialect.
I dont speak scots and i understood every word of it. I'd say its just an accent

1. danish (correct)
2. bulgarian (correct)
3. portuguese (wrong, never heard greek before tbh)
4. polish (well, i'm polish so)

uhhmm where tf did greece go?
#3
Wtf why did u remove 🇲🇪,it is the part of Europe!
Cuz it's not important
they didn’t remove it, this is just a random quiz with random questions, there are way more languages in europe than you could fit in here. There’s no Italian, Spanish or French here either. Plus, no offence, but Montenegrin is way too similar to Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian for anyone who doesn’t actually speak these languages to recognise :/
How is it possible ?!
I thought Greek was spanish,
portuguese was russian
and romanian was italian.
Am I so bad ?! I'm european and I can't guess any of these languages !! I even failed on German !!
Don't worry, some of these people just had weird accents or the languages just sound really similar.
it was European POrtuguese. If it was brazilian portuguese would be way easier. Portuguese from Portugal really sounds like russian
Come on she actually says Denmark in the first one. Uhm I wonder which language it is xD
Ahah, I heard #2 say Bulgaria but missed #1 saying Denmark.
12/15
13 is Slovak (Slovak Republic)
11/15 o’ right! And Im american
not bad :)
I almost didn’t get the English because his accent way soooooo thick
Matthew Arraya same
Probably didn't help you that he was speaking Scots, not English
Number 5 is ALBANIAN Language ( dialect ) from South Italy and Greece ( arbëresh dialect)
To be fair Albanian sample is very short and I have a feeling a student who is learning is speaking that language. If someone got Albanian congrats!!
Its not a student, its actually Arbëresh Albanian

8.Finland
10.Croatia
The last one is scots
My guesses were:
1st.Flemish(I was stuck with Dutch, Flemish and Danish)
2nd.Bulgarian(yay!)
3rd.Greek(I am Greek so although the Greek guy speaking in this has an accent I immediately knew the language, easy)
4th.Czech(I was struggling really bad on this one)
5th.Danish(It was sounding very similar to German but knew it couldn't be it)
6th.Portuguese(I was going back and forth with Romanian and Portuguese but because some words sounded like Spanish ones I chose Portuguese)
7th.Belarusian(don't ask why-)
8th.Finnish(from the way the words sounded)
9th.German(Again was stuck with German and Dutch but chose German overall)
10th.Polish(Because the words sounded very consistent like)
11th.Romanian(since I chose Portuguese before)
12h.Nothing(I couldn't come up with anything...)
13th.Ukrainian(Slovak didn't cross my mind like at all)
14th.A Germanic language(didn't know what to answer exactly again)
15th.Norwegian(What I was hearing was broken English but didn't think it would be like an accent so I chose Norwegian just cause I think a lot of words are very similar both sounding and written)
Soo 5/15 but I was very close on other ones I didn't get so I think I am happy with myself
5. is Albanian (Arbëresh dialect).
@@albertgashi1814 Oh ty for telling me
