@@freddie4682 Yep but aren't siblings to look alike? I was just commending how realistic the casting, because Martin has always emphasized realism in his works. So of course he would prioritize that his characters may look similar if they're siblings.
@@freddie4682 No I didn't. I was just impressed at how the Strong brothers were cast that they looked like they were related compared to the later Baratheons, who look nothing alike.

They shouldn't have been gifted Larys. Perhaps they would have survived Harrenhall.

What’s even more messed up about Larys was that he seemed to have a good relationship with his brother Harwin. I can’t say much about his father since we didn’t get a scene with them but Larys seemed to be loved by an affectionate family.
Yet he had no qualms with killing them in order to gain power for himself and for the greens. Disgusting.

I hate that on a rewatch you can see Larys and Harwin are almost always together yet he didnt hesitate to burn his brother alive, Larys deserves what he gets from the Starks
I was really liking Lyonel Strong. He's like a gentler and kinder version of Tywin. It sucks he had to die so soon. I never read any of the books. So I really thought he's gonna play a big part in the civil war specially since Rhaenyra's sons are still his grandchildren. I forgot the first rule of GOT franchise. Dont get too attached to a character.
Harwin strong was such a cool character and it was sad to see him go😭😭😭

I understand the purpose of season 1 of HOTD was to set up ‘the dance,’ but I really would’ve liked to see more of Rhaenyra’s relationship with Harwin. In the few interactions we saw between them, it was obvious that they loved each other, but I would’ve just loved to see more of them…as well as more between Daemon and Laena Velaryon.
It was sad to see both Lyonnel and Harwin dying but not surprising. Westeros has no pity for the kind hearted.
I think what I loved the most was the complete shift in acting from Alicent when Ol Crippled Man was narrating to her a story about « being not bothered by love » . She realized the monster who was lurking all this time. Fantastic performance from Alicent’s actress

It's honestly a shame in my eyes that we aren't getting to see more of these characters due to how fast the show is going and the time jumps, would have been nice to see more of larys sneaking his way into alicents favour, lyonrel relanship with the king and Sir harwin following in love with princess rhaenyra and being a loving father and lover who has to keep his love for them a secret, would have giving a lot more emotion and impact to thier deaths, I truly believe the show is missing out on a lot of story that could be told, I acutaly believe that there is enough content here to have 3 seasons before the acutal start of the war
Season 1 with young rhaenyra and the relationships she builds and burns that plant the seeds of war and the war in the step stones
Season 2 10 years later and we see how things have developed with rhaenyra and deamon being in pentos
Season 3 the Kings dies and its a war of ravens ending with vaghar vs arrax as the beginning of the full war
Season 4 and 5 being all about the dance of dragons
I would agree with 2 seasons but 3 is stretching it too thin.
The reason they do that is because of how the story is written in the books. The books are intentionally vague of what happens. The first five episodes in the show are a few lines in books. That should show u how much they have already streached whats writen. For example the war of the steps stones was just 2 lines in the books.
@@bivamshukhadka8953 idk I'm my head season 3 would be when king viserys dies, alicent crowns aegon King, the battle lines drawn, lots of politcal maneuvering and trying to get allies with the other houses ending in a climatic dragon fight, that seems like a lot to happen in a season to me
@@lonestar-cp6pl I know but there's a opportunity here to make something more here, this can be a opportunity to fill in some blanks in a lore and tell a story, as long as we have talented writers who talk to goarge about it I see no problem with extending things to be much longer

Larys is already a major player. Cant wait to see what happens to him.
Larys created his own sigil because that is what Littlefinger did in GoT, and so the Master of Whisperers has to do it in this one, despite varys being the MoW. It is an obvious callback to Littlefinger, for creating his own 'sigil.'
This was so well done! Whilst I can read the ASOIAF over and over, I confess I found Fire & Blood a bit of an onerous tome in which there is simply too much for me to absorb and remember.

I enjoyed it, but I get what you mean. My only problem was keeping up with all the names considering some are born, their life described and died within a chapter and then another character pops up with the same name

Perhaps S01 of HotD should have been split in 2 seasons... the 10y jump was a bit much and those cut interactions between breakbones and ser cole would have made the brawl that much more important.

*KING* *DAEMON* *TARGARYEN?*
In the beginning, I didn't think Daemon would make a good king. He chooses violence first over diplomacy the way Daenerys became. He'd be bored with all the small council talk. But the more I think about it, I believe Viserys should've chose Daemon as his heir.
Among the common folks, Daemon is popular. He's known as Lord Flea Bottom for a reason. He turned criminals into law enforcement and his own foot soldiers. He smartly allied himself with the richest House that Viserys ignored. And Daemon did all this while he has moral, ethics, and ED issues!
Rhaenyra does NOT become a good queen. Look how she grew up. She's an only child of Viserys from Aemma's womb. So Rhaenyra grew up like a self-entitled brat. While Daemon being a 2nd son always felt he was passed over although he's aware he is the mentally stronger brother.
If Daemon had been chosen to be heir, Otto would've never pimped Alicent to him. He would be harder to manipulate since he can read people better and isn't gullible like Viserys. I also think Daemon would be a better king had Laena been his queen.
Laena is a better woman than Rhaenyra. She's younger but acts more mature. She was the one to change Daemon for the better. She is the daughter of The Queen Who Never Was, and Rhaenys seems like a great and brave woman.
Rhaenys would've been a better ruler had she been chosen over Viserys but sexism reigned during that time. Although who knows? Throne can always corrupt people. House Velaryon have easily become the most likeable family in this series so far.
Two hotheaded dragons like Daemon and Rhaenyra would be too dangerous. They're both impatient and reckless. Rhaenyra has made one reckless move after another putting lives in danger including her's since sleeping with Criston. Laena would've balanced Daemon better.
Daemon should've been chosen as the next ruler to prevent this Targaryen civil war from ever breaking out. Not saying Daemon would've been as great as a king as Jaehaerys. We're aware how crazy Daemon can be. But he would've been accepted more by the commoners he'd rule than Rhaenyra.
Daemon already established himself as a popular figure among the low lives outside the Red Keep and many soldiers would go to war for him being he's a popular, charismatic general. He gave "a pack of strayed mongrels and hounds" a 2nd chance in life.
That's the thing that Rhaenyra and Daenerys never understood. You can't rule over a bunch of people who don't like you just because it's in your birthright to rule them. If that's the case, the people will look at you as a tyrant. People need to accept you too, ya know?
Daemon understood the common people he would rule that Rhaenyra and Daenerys never did. You can't just rule people if they don't want to follow you. How can you ever be a leader if nobody follows?

Well according to fire and blood she will run into krakens or leviathans and major stormms but she will end up in asshi , corless valeryan already discovered what is west of Westeros. And a character named lady jayne farman sailed west and then many years later corless found her ship in asshi. She departed with 3 or 4 ships but two turned back it was so dangerous. They found a few islands ( sunset sea ) tje world is round to see would just end up in the east ( far east ) . Of course grey worm is the o e in real trouble, anyone spending more than 24 hours on the island of naath who wasn't born there dies a horrible death of natural causes. ( disease)

why is lyonel seen as a good guy when he is trying to put his bastard grandsons on the throne while otto is evil when he is trying to put his grandson from a legitmate marriage on the throne
Because he didn’t pimp out his daughter when the king was the most vulnerable like Otto did. Also, there connection was natural. Geez, why is it that so hard to understand.
The thing that separates the two men is Lyonel did not place his son in the princess bed. By the time he discovered this, it was already too late. Children had been born, and Lyonel paternal instincts kicked in. He just wanted to protect his son at this point. If the truth got out, Harwin would have been castrated and killed.
From what we’ve seen, Lyonel has only ever given Viserys advice that is best for the realm or House Targaryen. He haven’t tried to promote his own self interest, that is what Viserys and many fans like about him.
Because he's not trying to put them on the throne to boost his house's reputation. If it got out that the boys are bastards (more accurately if Viserys is made to recognize the infidelity), Harwin and the children die. Even if the children do ascend the throne, publicly, they are not of House Strong. It's also not like Lyonel ordered his son to seduce Rhaenyra like Otto told Alicent to seduce Viserys. What most likely happened is that Rhaenyra had sex with Harwin after he won the tourney (not sure if a wedding tourney happened in the show, but something equivalent) and he became her paramour. Basically, Lyonel is trying to keep his son and grandchildren from getting executed. It doesn't hurt that they're in line for the throne, but that's not the main point. Otto had Alicent try to seduce Viserys as soon as Aemma died. He then tried to immediately revoke Rhaenyra's claim as heir. Intention is the point here.
@@thegreatpage5912 There would also be a good chance that the children would be executed as well and they are Lyonel's bastard grandchildren. It seems he does care for them regardless of this status.
