“The kids drowned because they couldn’t swim and that’s not our fault. “
This took me tf out!😂😂😂
Lmaoo same
Couple of dead kids, that’s what happens in summer camps
Bro he's funny asf 😂😂😂
same! but then he got me with "musty sheets"! also alan scootin/shufflin off in that long azz dirty t-shirt @30:22. then @30:29.
The first sleepaway camp has the most realistic depictions of teenagers because the teenagers are played by actual teenagers!
You know i wont lie ricky was kinda the best cousin you could ask for, he kept trying to save the day no matter how big the person was Harassing his cousin.
What the heck ever happened to him? He was only in 1 movie,I think.
He did some interviews. He was in that one when they were older?
Everybody needs a friend like Ricky
@@vodkagal28 um he's life couldn't had been better n he would stay away from camps
@dontheador6649 Yeah, the first person u call, he even kept going to visit her throughout all the years.
"Eat shit and live" has been my favorite comeback since 2010, because of this film. Truely a classic.
I can't wait for the moment I can use that one in real life.
The delivery is actually really funny
@@jazzycat8917 Ikr?
Dying is easy but living with what you've done.. now that's hard
I’ve been waiting for more than a decade or somebody tell me die so I can come back with that gem lmaooo
I think it would have been way funnier if for the final movie, they still had Angela's actress doing the Sheriff with the bad makeup, but it turns out the Sheriff was legit and just looked *like that*, and Angela's actual disguise was actually super convincing the whole movie and she is revealed as some side character you didn't pay enough attention to to pick up on the disguise.
to add to the "unresolved trauma," he wasnt just forced to pretend to be a girl, but specifically his DEAD SIBLING. He probably couldnt even grieve her bc everyone around him was acting as if HE had died and SHE had lived. Thats really gotta fuck up your mind, constantly like "what would the real Angela do?" And then doing it yourself, even though youre Peter
It's what I've always thought, Peter has had to deal with a lot of stress and give up his person to pretend to be his dead sister. Although that means that Aunt Martha found a way so that coroners, investigators, police and even her brother's lover did not realize that she usurped the identity of her deceased niece to give it to the child who was clearly alive? Did Ricky never meet his cousins or see photos of them to realize it was Peter? Social services never stopped by to see how he was adjusting to his new surroundings and didn't they notice that he was now a girl? Did Peter get to the point of dissociating himself from his body and believing that he was really Angela? Like some kind of Norman Bates?
@@Threeleebirdshe probably only called her angela in front of her son and Peter.
Just being forced to be the opposite gender is traumatizing enough 😢
I'm old enough to remember watching the first one, on the original release, no Internet, no spoilers. The ending was a proper shocker at the time 😱
Totally agree! That was actually my 1st time seeing a 🍆 😆😆! I was around 9 years old
But on the vhs I have, you can’t even see anything 😡
I totally agree! I watched it during a birthday party in the late 80's and was traumatized. Maybe I was 10ish. Great movie.
Most disturbing ending I've ever seen and I can eat my dinner while watching Saw. Different type of sick
@@justinshelton5026the implied visual with the face was enough to scar me
Not gonna lie the first film did freak me out when I first saw it. It's the look on 'Angela's' face, still gives me shivers
Baby Yoda
I can't imagine how validated and joyous that fan must've felt to finally discover the footage after all that time.
I never thought id see him cover this series, im all here for it
Definitely unexpected
Seriously, I love Sleepaway Camp, 2 especially.
I wanna go to Camp Foundflix!!! Who’s with meeeeeee??!!!
Don Cheadle
Lets goooo! I'll pick you up on the way, so in 23 minutes.
Sign me up!
Let's gooooo
Ugh. Go with someone who uses far too many punctuation marks?
"eat shit and live bill" will forever be one of my favorite movie quotes
If one eats shit and dies, they don't taste the shit for long nor do they have to live with the memory or bullying about the incident.
Eating shit and _living_ though... 😂
Mine is "Good Night" by Angela.
One of the few 80s horror movies with the guts to kill actual kids at a summer camp and not just the counsellors. Although I always admired why Jason never killed the campers.
You’d think he would kill campers though as they where the ones that drowned him
So many weird threads are suggested but just never followed regarding Angela's history in the original. The family dynamics, the head wound, what Ricky knows and doesn't know, it's such an oddly constructed movie.
Man I watched so many “summer camp killer” movies growing up that when my parents actually sent me to camp I freaked out lol.
SAME. My step-family rented the entire Sleepaway Camp series (1-3, with 3 being the last at the time) and a bunch of Friday the 13th films when I was in like 2nd grade and just... let me watch them as an 8 year old. Like straight up gratuitous murder, nudity, the whole thing. 3 years later I went to a 3 day camp and my counselor was a really nice brunette lady I was *terrified* of for the first day or two. The camp was a lot of fun and all my classmates and I survived. 😂
The "not you Meg" makes me laugh my ass off. That first movie is such a great campy time.
“I had him.. I had him and I let him go..not this time🤌🏽”
Definitely one of your better intros, maybe the best! Thank you for all the work you put in.
Definitely!
It's easy to tell how much he digs this series. The level of enthusiasm contrasts strongly with the recent spate of less-than-stellar recent films covered.
He didn't have Ronnie's short shorts on! 😂
"Couple of dead kids? Get over it! Thats what happens at summer camp!" 😂😂😂😂
Sleepaway camp and Friday the 13th are some of the reasons why I don't go camping
Referring to Angela, ".....staring past them in a daze. (pause) Well, get used to that look." Me: 🤣🤣🤣 This movie (the first one, I mean) is so ripe with things to comment on, and you did an excellent job.
You never know how much of a love letter to Sleepaway Camp Wet Hot American Summer is until you watch them back to back. It's really astounding, even though the latter holds up on its own. Highly recommend seeing both
THANK YOU SO MUCH
With the cost of streaming on the rise, I watch CZcams like it is television. An hour of FoundFlix?? An opening skit and a full series explained? This is why I keep a CZcams subscription ❤
You and I are the same. Right down to the watching youtube like television. Haha, glad to know I'm not the only one!
This was my mom's favorite when I was growing up. She had the whole box set and everything. I remember having to run across the living room with my eyes covered to get to the kitchen as a kid when she watched this 😂 I think the first kill I ever saw growing up was the one on the flag pole
I love it when you cover the older stuff. I love how you’re timely and on point with current releases, but it’s a special treat when you do the movies I grew up with.
And the whole opening camp advertisement was hilarious
When a new FoundFlix video drops within 30s of me opening my phone, I refuse to believe it's anything other than destiny.
I let these vids pile up so I can do a FoundFlix binge and the opening on this one freaking slayed me. 100% fun!! 😂🤣😂
I'm mad that the dinner theater one didn't happen. That sounded so awesome.
"Eat shit and live, Bill." is the best line ever.
How the hell was Ricky so normal with a mother like that 😂
Wouldn’t be surprised if he went no contact with her after finding out the truth of Angela/Peter
I mean, I’d never wanna be anywhere near my mom after figuring out she took in my cousin after his family dead only to force him to be his dead sister for years
@@Art_museum28 yeh it kinda feels like he cut his mom off in the return to sleep away camp, like I can't say for sure but it just feels like it, I hope what you said is true tho she's fuckin nuts
@@shimshamjunior Seeing how Ricky has his screws fully screwed in, unlike his mom, he definitely cut contact the first chance he got and I wouldn’t be surprised if he yelled at her for ruining his cousin’s life and never telling him Peter was the kid who came out alive
The opening gave me shining vibes. The music and random nature shots. Reminded me of the opening drive that Jack took on the way to the overlook
Yeah I would of went to Camp Crystal Lake instead but some guy with a machete keeps killing people. I hope Camp Arawak is completely safe!
*Awkward side eye with wide open mouth*
@@RealBradMiller Look, I heard this place is as safe as that theme park called Action Park 😂
When I camped at Crystal Lake no one even got killed!! I was hoping to check out early, but noooo 😞
Jason?
As a camper Crystal Lake would be safer!! Jason (and his mum) killed the councillors not the campers 😅 At Camp Arawak everybody is fair game 🫣🫣😰🤣🤣
Felissa Rose is a dream and so cool. She has embraced the horror community and is going full force back into making movies and guest shots.
OMG that intro was just too fun, just the movement and the voice and everything I dont know why, It took me so much by suprice I love this channel dude.
Sleepaway Camp 1 is one of my favourite movies, its so camp, over the top, insane, and peak 80s D list horror. I quote many lines from the movie
Peter’s story sounds like it was based on David Rimer who was transitioned by Dr. Money as part of an experiment. He didn’t become a serial killer but he did end up killing himself because if the abuse he suffered in the experiment
The best part is Money was never punished for this and his theories were widely adopted by the medical community and still have influence to this day :,D
Yep, the father of the trans movement.
Money was also a pedohpile if i remember correctly, who'd have David and his brother perform sexual acts on each other as part of his 'therapy'
The way I always saw it is the little kids that were slaughtered were the ones thst threw sand on Angela and Ricky.
22:43 Actually his son dies in the 2nd movie. He was beheaded after he revealed to Angela his dad helped arrest her after her 1st massacre.
Yeah I was quite surprised to learn that James Earl Jones's dad played in the first movie.
Love this series, so much fun. In the first movie James Earl Jones's dad plays Ben one of the kitchen staff.
It's a shame in the sequel we didn't see photos of Angela covered & arrested then the aunt arrested for child endangerment & other charges & murder charges. Also voice over with articles about the murders @ the camp.
Literally 3 seconds into the video I just couldn’t help but smirk at how much I love this man 😭
Seriously is such a treat seeing you post a new video. Can't get enough of them. Your videos are the best!
17:25 as a trans guy I honestly don't find the ending a problematic depiction of trans people. Nothing in it even has to do with being trans, I actually liked the ending and this kind of thing where parental figures force their kids to be a different gender is a real thing sadly. Really brings attention to that problem which in my opinion is a good thing
Yeah, there's a lot of purposefully bad faith misinterpretation going on regarding media and representation in it.
Not exactly a new phenomenon by a long shot (the satanic panic about D&D, Jack Thompson vs. violence in videogames etc.) but it's aggravating and tiresome to see supposedly progressive and creative people jump into half-assed conclusions just so they can point their finger at something from an imaginary moral high ground.
@@RuSosan agreed
@@RuSosan The last half of your comment is extremely on brand for progressive people. It's sad but to be expected
@@iHaveTheDocuments gotta disagree here, its on brand for the small amount that the media and people focus more on. Most people who are progressive aren't like that
@@iHaveTheDocuments
It's on brand for a *small part of the progressive crowd.*
As I also stated, cancel culture in all it's various toxic forms is a present phenomenon in plenty of differing (or even polar opposite) social groups.
A two week wait for a new video is more than worth every minute of it when you get the gift of a 35 minute video thanks and I love how you're growing your hair back out
I almost spit out my coffee when you said why would you want to meet up with Mel cigars and depression
My cat and i love watching the latest FoundFlix episode to bring a sleepy evening to a close
I saw the thumbnail and gasped! I love this series and am so glad you're finally covering it!
Man the first movie freaked me the hell out when I saw it in the late 80s. When Angela turned out to be a guy I was scared shitless. I didn’t know what to think because I was 9 in 89. To this day I still think it’s a great “what the fuck?” Horror film. I’ve never seen the other movies so I’m looking forward to this.
"A couple of kids that drowned didn't even know how to swim, so that's on them!" 🤣🤣🤣 I can't! lolol
Keep up the good work! ❤ you and your content!
Ah, new FoundFlix upload? My Sunday just got better!
Love this! Great video! Thank you for all your work.
Great editing keep up the good work
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY!!!❤❤
DUUUDE. I love when you explain the older films. I clicked on this so quick :D keep it up
That chick Judy didn't want anything to do with Paul until she saw him shooting his shot at Angela? The death she got was beyond terrible and I wouldn't even do that to my worst enemy and it's cool how the OG Angela(Miss Felissa Rose)still acts in horror movies, but it would've been good to see her grow up playing that iconic female horror villain.....who I still couldn't help but to feel empathy for, because of her crazy mom?
Hell Yess!!!! Ive been WAITING for someone to cover these! Theyre some of my faves in the horror genre
"100% Fun!"🤣
I love you FoundFlix. That intro was hilarious!
The beginning felt so much like a Tim Robinson bit, loved it!
literally just watched the whole series, and loved the first two, and now you’ve covered it!
this videos are getting better and better!!!
It's always a good day when FoundFlix uploads...why, yes, yes I'm almost certain that it is
I loved the opening describing activities. Great video.
Love your content keep up the great work
Great summary review of the Sleepaway Camp series. I will be searching for return to Sleepaway Camp since I haven't seen that one or realized it was a thing. 😊
Great video, thanks for breaking down the series - I've only seen the first movie but it looks like I don't have to bother with the rest!
Let’s go man I love you so much and over the years you never abandoned your true OG fans by giving us OG horror content like this!!!! Shout out to all my OG horror fans over the age of 21… we literally grew up and were molded by horror. I love you all ❤
This was my favorite slasher series when I was in middle school. I'd always rent one from Family Video.
I just watched all these on the kill count channel haha love that you did this set of movies 😁
i have been wanting this review for so long but i never asked…thank u ❤️
i am just glad your skits are back
Love the intro! You had me ready to sign up
Omg one of the cult classics reviewed by foundflix!? And all 5 at once?! It’s not my birthday until October! Thank you!

YESSS I BEEN WAITIN ON THIS ONE🫶🏾‼️
Always love when you do sketches
This is the soonest I've ever been able to watch a Found Flix!
Surprised to see you cover this. I, too, have thought about why there hasnt been a remake but at the same time I feel it would be too controversial.
I've never seen any Sleepaway, but I might have to pick up the first one now. Thanks for the recap!
Ayyyoooo!!! My man, YOU ARE OFFICIALLY GOATED!!! NOT LIKE YOU HAVEN'T BEEN (I'VE BEEN TUNED IN FOR YEARS) BUT I ACTUALLY WATCHED THIS LAST NIGHT BUT THE SIMPLE FACT THAT U KNOW OF THIS MOVIE N BROKE DOWN ALL OF THEM??!?!! THATS GOD TIER- It may seem like I'm overreacting but seriously I came across this movie when DISH satellite 1st became a thing; my friends and I would stay up til like 4A.M. trying to watch them back to back... I just Wana say THANK YOU BROTHER FOR ALL YOUR VIDEOS!!! (I STILL HAVE YET TO SEE THE 1ST ONE BUT I DEFINITELY WILL) THANK YOU AGAIN AND CONTINUE TO GIVE YOUR VIEWERS WHATEVER FEELING I'M EXPERIENCING!!! 😂😂😂😂
I wish there was a box set of these movies! One of my favorite old horror movies
I can't explain how hard I laughed at that intro 😭😭 I needed that frl...we need more intros like that
Loved the video!
I was *just* thinking to myself, how I missed when you did bits like this! Yay :'D

I was born in the 80s and I'd never even heard of sleepaway camp or it's sequels until a year or two ago and these movie are awesome
Oh Sleepaway Camp!! This is gonna be a fun video
2:00 lmfao... all the disclaimers followed up by the "Get over it!" was damn funny.
Thank you for your amazing content!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great video!
I love the cameos the girl who played Angela in #1 does on Joe Bob Briggs' show on Shudder. I won't say her "expertise" here, just check it out😂
Yes! I am excited for this video!
i really love sleepaway camp and show the original to my friends who aren’t big fans of horror. the literal campiness of it and the what the fuck moments in the first one .. chefs kiss. not as big of a fan of the later ones, especially the last one, but i still enjoy this franchise. as a trans person, i think the ending really takes away from what is just a batshit crazy and fun popcorn flick. i also appreciate you pointing out that it’s not actually a fully trans reading/killer trope because i think a lot of viewers don’t think that critically about how that’s actually affected public view of trans people
It definitely did impact the view of trans people, much the way drag queens impact the public's view on us because they don't understand the difference. Honestly, Angela was pretty positive representation compared to a lot of 70s/80s depictions of trans people. Silence of The Lambs had a much worse impact on trans women, at least Angela was sympathetic.
17:00 I streamed this on PlutoTV one time, and fell asleep, only to wake up the the credits and that image. Because I was still half-asleep the image was more terrifying than it should've been. I never shut my eyes again so quickly before. XD
Yeah that style of singing I'm a happy camper reminds me of the song they were singing on the movie Terrifier The Second One.
