This sounds absolutely strange but I think it's sweet that the entity stuck with the name for the baby, especially since the parents chose it
It was an interesting touch. The ending is too jumbled and somewhat nonsensical to infer too much, but it implies a sense of the parasite actually caring for the human race, which is entirely at odds with the entire theme of the movie.
Ending seems sort of rushed though, like they didn't know how to effectively end it, and this was the best of the potential ideas.
Maybe since it's a robot/alien thing it's just not creative enough to think of a name. I mean I guess it's better than being named "worshipper number 2025" or something

A cool sequel concept would be the parasite realizing that if it doesn't take care of the baby properly Ruby will die and by extension itself with no one left to worship it. It could use previous human knowledge such as books and videos to take care of Ruby and through the engulfment of human knowledge, entertainment, and the process of raising Ruby. It would then develop a 'Human' personality and consciousness and realize the horror of what it's truly doing.
There is no true future for Ruby the child it has learned to care for if continues like it did in the movie. And that humans die fairly quickly with no food, water, and genuine connection. And we won't be reproducing either, because who would bring a child into such a bleak world. It basically put itself on a twiddling timer.
A study was done with numerous babies, where they were each placed into an empty room with just a crib, the babies were fed and changed regularly but weren't kissed, cuddled, or played with. The study had to stop immediately because the babes were DYING. Babies die without some sort of emotional and physical connection despite being traditionally healthy and fed. So either parasite gains a personality via taking care of babies or it dies.

Yikes people can be scary, much scarier than some animal in the wild.
Yo have you been to a friends holiday dinner? Some families are wack. I have a grown friend late 20s who’s dad would say wild shit to till he would cry - which seems crazy but being hateful and mean to your only son instead of listening to them and trying for understanding - pretty damaging. A la - this movie
The one thing I've looked for, and I haven't seen anyone talk about it yet, is thoughts about the number of lights in that final pan over the town. As the camera pans, we see that the Milgram's house has light coming from the windows. and we know this is because the tv is still on for little Ruby. With that in mind, I feel like it's safe to say that all the dark houses have no survivors, and any with lights on have a least one. I know it's a bit of a stretch, but we don't know that others weren't more successful at staying alive. More likely they were people like Gramps, Dad, and Kate who didn't have someone like Nick and Annji holed up with them. If you have no one telling you how bloody crazy you are to listen to the tv, you're not going to question it, and therefore survive. Perhaps some of those lights could even be other newborns, brought about same as Ruby. The point I'm trying to make is, could that finally pan over be a comment as to how many people might just be naive/gullible/stupid enough to bow down without question at the feet of the media?
Great point I had to check that scene out for myself. You were right. I think the alien parasite needed to coax the ppl into willingly accepting its presence in there body. If they worshiped it then they would accept it physically to become part of its hive mind. But the kid saw what it was willing to do to get their allegiance and realized he was better off dead than what that creature might do when its in control of his body. Even keep him alive for eternity in suffering or subservience. It’s could on the other hand be complete extacsy living and accepting to worship. It may have let him live in dreams of paradise and show him secrets we could never imagine.
What about the house with fire coming out of it?
I disagree because listening to the tv is what got them killed. I think the alien was just trying to get one person out of each family to be the follower and push them to kill all the rest. Gramps would of been the perfect follower but he was killed of first by the alien. And the mom too was killed directly by the alien when she could of been easily manipulated and kept alive as a follower.
The TV is killing off the questioning in order to weed out the most mindless, obedient, non-paranoid people, like newborns, kids etc who will do what they’re told
The film is literally mocking the sorts of people who blindly believe anything they're told which reinforces their beliefs, to the detriment of those around them.
The sort of people who read The Sun, or Daily Mail, and praise it as "real journalism".
The sort of people who unironically refer to "the media" as some sort of evil entity.
"Dad, stop listening to the TV"
Too real, horror movie, too real
This aged amazingly
I really liked 80% of the movie, the end was just a shitshow but everything leading up to it was really good imo.
Henrik I agree the ending even though it shocked me, was a little disappointing and I wish they could have done better.
I agree to an extent, it was such a good movie because it was all grounded with relatable problems and family
issues that steadily built tension without showing
too much, the ending threw all of that out of the window but was really just bad in comparison to the rest of the movie.
That was more less my experience, although the family dynamic was incredibly exaggerated. Especially for a movie like this
I agree, truly.
The ending had a lot of potential, however, it was presented awkwardly. Of course, everything leading up to it was "so should they follow the instructions or not?", and the most expected ending was either a yes or no, due to a 3rd party making an experiment out of them.
What the movie did was, it avoided that, and went with an evil entity that wanted followers etc. etc.
However, with that ending, it made for a lot more questions, than it did answers. And it felt like a "oh it's a supernatural thing... ok then".
With a typical ending of "it was a government experiment", it would be scarier, since IT COULD happen, and you'd feel as if you were a conspiracy theorist by not following the instructions, or, a slave by actually following it. If you catch my drift.
Still in the end though, I don't think anyone could win. I mean, you *COULD* say the entity couldn't kill anyone, but fact of the matter is, it killed the wife and the grandpa on it's own. With that, the entity could've entangled every other family member, and use the body as it's vessel. So... meh ending in the end.
Basically every ending of the grudge and ju-on movies
“It’s the things you love that kill you.”

understand this, mensage is more than what is intended, how its delived matters, maybe even more. and in here, it did everything it could to make its mensage the opposite of what it intended it to be...

Much rather you trying to feel better about yourself for not showing weakness or something? We are all just trying to be happy. Then why put someone else down to feel better?
@brayden Neptune
I think he meant "if you're too well-adjusted to put up with toxicity then what are you doing here?"
It's a joke, like "what's a nice gal like you doing in a dive like this?"
We'll forgive my ignorance

i just finished the movie and came straight to this video. thanks again foundflix.
Oh this political satire is just SO subtle I just LOVE how subtle this commentary is.
sorry but no, it actually does the complete opposite of that, its mensage ends up being completely subverted because of the ending, and turns into "this is what happens when you dont obey". seriously, everytime they fought it, someone got maimed, beaten or killed.

Do you understand what the concept of sarcasm is?
I KNOW RIGHT its so subtle
@@Wildmilly well, its kinda hard to read sarcasm in the comments. specially when i have seen people say that exact same thing and mean it.
@@marcosdheleno SO being in all caps gives it away pretty easily though
After the pandemic in Italy, this Movie gets a deeper meening
I thought it was good until the cords literally came alive. I feel like they could have made it happen another way and have it work better.
Liam Nishime yeah, I feel like the “tentacle monster” is kindof overdone. Plus, if it’s taken over this much area, wouldn’t it have blocked the toilet entrance? But having a human made material be controlled as if it was organic matter is just weird to me. I do appreciate the writers going for something different with this horror movie though, it is very creative.
Loved this movie and love this channel!!!!! fan for years ! cheers
Jesus when the audio cranked up when he said "The Box" scared the shit out of me

Yep
Yea, most of the time. For one, because most of these movies would be a waste of time watching.
I watched this movie before he did it, I hated it. It was too irrational.
I sometimes watch the actual movie right before, because Foundflix dude usually reviews some good stuff and I don't want to spoil the experience.
I really liked that their surname was Milgram, as in the obedience experiment's Milgram.
A bit on the nose.
But the message is clear.
