  • The Ninja 650 Is An Awesome Bike
Thinking about buying a Ninja 650? go for it, the ninja 650 is an awesome motorcycle, great for around the city, on the highway, urban exploring and with its upright riding position it gives you a comfortable ride even if you are like me and have a few back problems. Almost the perfect motorcycle.

LOL, don’t take your sport bike off-road, solid advice bro. I have the ninja 400 and I can easily break any posted speed limit where I live in New Jersey where max speed limit is 65 mph (although that speed limit is routinely broken on most highways and interstates) and police usually wont pull you over unless you’re really flying.....So, yeah I imagine the 650 has more than enough power unless you’re trying to be street Rossi. Good review 👍

Great review and completely agree with you, I’ve been riding all sorts of bikes since 17 including a zx6r which is still my favourite but now have a 2019 Ninja 650 now at at age 48 and she’s perfect, light and agile but well planted on the road, good torque, very quick up to 100mph. Two must have mods though are metzeler roadtech 01 tyres and a good full system exhaust as the stock one sounds like a wet fart!

I just got back in into riding bikes again at the beginning of the year. I use to ride an r6 and a gsxr750 and I wanted a quick bike I could grow into. I ended up getting a ninja 650 and love it. It sure can move but it's not as quick a supersport, but it will do sub 12 second quarter miles and it will go almost 140mph with a few mods. I did get a gsxr 600 as a second bike but I kept the ninja 650. It is way more comfortable and not so cramped like my supersport.

Agree with all your points on the 650! :) She is a rarity in her Jack Of All Trades demeanor in that she not only does just about everything, but she does it at way better than average. plenty of power, nimble enough to where if you put her in the twisties, she’ll give an average skilled super sport rider a run for his/her money, she’s more than up to par for long range touring comfort, wind protection is good, city street handling is superb... I could go on n on! I TRULY miss mine (stolen)!

Ive been riding for 2 yrs now steady, and have a 2016 ninja 650 as my first bike that i ever bought, not rode. I do recommend changing the exhaust. It cuts a lot of weight and sounds better. I have a Yoshimura RS4 on my bike. It was a bit intimidating at first but keep riding and you get used to it. The ninja 650 does have some torque on the throttle that can get you in trouble in first and second gear if your not careful. I love it though but i want a ninja 1000 or Z900. I test rode the MT-09 and dont like the seating position much. But that is one heck of a bike that will most definitely get someone into trouble the MT-09

I just got the 2020 version of this bike delivered today and honestly I’m speechless - it’s an absolute dream!
My initial thoughts - subject to change of course!
Just some background: I’m a 6’ female with a childhood motocross background coming back from a 10/11 year riding hiatus and no road bike experience - it’s my (technically second but I call it my first) road bike I absolutely love it. I took it for a ride around my subdivision for about 2h without feeling cramped or sore, I found this bike is super comfortable even being 6ft. I originally bought a HD Iron 883 and I got some wicked hip cramps after about 10 mins of riding (that’s why I switched riding positions/bikes) - I do have a history of back problems even tho I’m 20, go figure.
It took me a couple minutes to find a clutch position that worked for me - thanks to the lovely and easily adjustable levers - and get used to the initial amount of torque but after that, I found I could handle it quite easily (don’t imagine some big strong girl because you’ll have the wrong idea - I’ve got the noodiliest of arms and I’m quite tiny for my height).
After riding around for a while, I think this bike would be quite a lot for someone with absolutely no motorcycle experience at all, especially if they were on the smaller stature side (I had my 5’6” mother sit on it and it just swamped her - the bike isn’t modified in any way just to clarify).
But aside from that fact, I personally believe that anyone coming back from a hiatus, has other bike experience, or even has experience with a manual transmission car would be able figure this bike out pretty quick. Like you said, the bike is definitely very straightforward in its display, buttons, and controls.
This bike is great and I can’t wait to ride it more as it’s just insanely fun. As with any bike, respect it and it shall pay you back in many smiles :)

I got the Kawasexy 650 as my second bike. I think it’s a intermediate entry level bike. It’s not scary to ride and I think a newbie could deal with it. I would recommend to upgrade the tyres to Michelin Pilot road 5 to get more confidence on the curves and also change the original pipe because the original sound kinda sucks and sounds like a scooter. After 10000km I would recommend it and that’s if you’re not into naked bikes as you can get the MT 07 or the Z900 for about the same price. You said it best and your subscribers should take notes it’s a sport TOURING bike 🧞‍♂️

With how cheap the zx6r is I’m surprised anyone gets a 650 when you can get a 636 with power modes and traction control and a quick shifter. Although the 650 is a great newb bike after 1 season of riding you should be ready for the zx6r. I’m surprised your not bored with it after 3 years.

    • @KawaKouple
      @KawaKouple  Před 4 lety +2

I know what your saying, however, the 650 riding position makes a difference, also it’s slow maneuvers capabilities are much better than the zx6r, for someone who likes to explore back lanes, downtowns the 650 is simply the right bike. Just my opinion. Appreciate the support Bill, thank you.

Beginner/experienced rider , looking for low financial pressure, not chasing after extra 20-30mph from the bike, relaxed riding position... Ninja 650(4stroke ,twin parallel cylinder ..which sounds good enough for me) (changing exhaust will do more than enough)
Experienced rider, wants absolute power on road / track, more aggressive riding position, don't mind slightly higher maintenance cost... Zx6r (4cylinder sounds? Maybe you would care alot for the exhaust sound?)
Ninja650 (sport touring bike, aggressive enough for me)

..I would not recommend this bike for anyone over 6'2". I'm 5'9" and I get a little uncomfortable after 30 minutes of riding because the foot pegs I believe are for ppl 5'9" and shorter. Also you get vibration in the handle bars which will make your hands numb after about 30 minutes of riding. People forget this bike is a 2 cyl not a 4 cylinder, so there's a little more vibration in the frame and handle bars. I still love the bike though and have had my blue one since the spring of 2018. My 3rd bike and been riding since 1987.
