  • Total newbie buys a brand new Kawasaki Ninja 650 KRT Edition motorcycle. Just a few weeks ago I owned a 2017 Honda CBR300R in red color but felt the 300cc engine wasn't satisfactory.
    So I traded that one in and got the Kawasaki Ninja 650 instead. I got the Green KRT Edition with ABS brakes.

    trust me, if you started on the 650 instead of 300, you will still feel that the 650 is under-powered in a few months, and start looking at 636 or 750 or liter plus. And then at some point after riding all the 1 liter and 1200 cc bikes, you will miss the nimbleness of the light bike, and buy a 300 or 400, and start the cycle all over again.

    Hello, I have new Ninja 650 with Leo Vince exhaust underbody, sound of exhaust is very nice but is anyone noticed that engine or something else is whistling as from 3500rpm until 5000rpm, after 6000 noise of intake/engine/exhaust cover this whistling.
    Into city in 3rd gear 4000rpm this noice is very unpleasant.
    Thanks for your feedback!

    that's my next bike. hope you will enjoy it for years or at least months to come. but I disagree with your theory on 250 cc and 300 cc bikes. I learnt on a ninja 250. spent many hours practicing leaning knee down on factory tires, accelerating, breaking and tight maneuvers . on rides with bigger bikes, I had no trouble keeping up. until over 150km or 93m/h. but on corners I out turned and accelerated riders with much more riding experience. it's a personal opinion. I've heard too many stories of inexperienced riders getting a liter bike. crash with terrible injuries and never rode again. please don't become a statistic. enjoy your bike. and be safe.

    How does it handle at 70mph, highway speeds? I been looking to get my first bike and been told that the ninja 400 vibrates too much at high speeds. I need a bike for commuting to work and I have to ride on the highway.

    • @Dawgs241
      @Dawgs241 Před 5 lety +1

      I've had a 400 since April and it handles great at high speeds. Lots of power and extremely lightweight. I actually passed on the 650 after I did some research. Both are great bikes, but considering the price difference and performance, I'd get 400.

      I do not know how fast your friends were going with Ninja 400, but it was just fine until 85 mph. I am currently riding 2017 Ninja 300 and was quite impressed with Ninja 400 actually. For a long distance highway cruising, 650 is surely better though althuogh at 70 mph (or even up to 80 mph), Nina 400 should do just fine. (Ninja 400 has actually shorter wheel base and lighter than Ninja 300, so it is a very nimble bike for the city commuting as well.. )

    Hello there, have you considered yourself buying a CBR 650 instead? I'm seriously confused right now! I own a Ninja 300 now and I wanna upgrade soon. Your thoughts please?

    • @PopsRacer61
      @PopsRacer61 Před 5 lety +3

      ..The Honda CBR 650 is not considered a beginner's bike. Top speed on that bike is about 165 mph as opposed to 128 on the 650 Ninja, It does have an excellent 4 cyl vs Kawasaki's excellent 2 cyl, the riding position is a little more leaned over the bars which may strain your back on longer trips vs the Ninja's more upright riding position. It costs a bit more than the Ninja, the insurance is a little higher and not as good gas mileage as the Ninja. It is a very good bike, sporty and reliable but the Ninja is more of a beginner's bike that you may decide to keep forever. I've had 4 bikes including the one I own now which is a blue 2018 Ninja 650. I used to own a SUZUKI 600 KATANA, GSXR 600 and GS700 es back in the day. But I got the Ninja because it's tamer, I'm older and I don't need to be riding over 100 mph racing everyone that comes along now. Wiser too !!

      @makarlock Před 5 lety

      RONAN MENDOZA lmao now that's preference. Versys 650, Ninja 650, and Vulcan S are all the same engine. Do you want an adventure tourer or a (not supersport) sports bike or a cruiser? I hate the look and feel of cruisers, and the versys 650 doesn't get me off too much, although I do have to admit it fits me a bit better as I am tall. I like the ninja over all three.

      ..that's what the ZX6 (NINJA 636) is for! It's a race bike replica for the street. High revving 4 cyl engine, about 130 hp, different suspension - upside down forks, wider rear tire, better brakes, faster speed at top end... and of course more money and higher insurance. The 650 of course is a 2 cyl engine with about 69 HP, great gas mileage almost 50 mpg, top speed about 128 mph, super low insurance, very comfortable riding position, very-very reliable engine and low maintenance, and costs less.

    CBR300R is too slow for you and very underpowered !?? You must be going to a track very often ! Cruising up to 65 mph should not be a problem at all with CBR300. However, Ninja 650 is sexier with better instrument for sure !!

    Good review. And don't give these so called "experts" on riding, any attention. I read that negative comment towards you about the dude talking about how he has 12 years experience riding. It's dumb shits like him that the riding community look down on. It doesn't matter HOW long you have been riding. ANYONE can drop their bike no matter what your experience is. Then, you have the other "genius" talking about how a Ninja 636 is better than the Ninja 650. First of all, both bikes have different riding styles. The Ninja 636 is a super sport. The 650 is more of a sport/standard/tourer type of bike with a more upright position. Not everyone, is looking to go 190mph on the highway. I'm not putting down super sport bikes. But in regular riding like in cities and small towns. The Ninja 650 is more usable in regards to power. Ninja 636 is twitchy with power, and wants to simply go fast. The Ninja 650 wants to simply chill, but does have the torque to back it up when it wants to go. Just don't pay attention to those two idiots. It's because of people like them, is why anything social on the internet sucks these days. Best thing to do is block them.

    Being a newbie and saying a 300 is to slow for you. Honestly biggest mistake. To much power for a new rider. Yeah you can learn the hard way. But sometimes the hard way comes with a few medical and mechanical bills.

    • @juangarza6684
      @juangarza6684 Před 5 lety

      Y actually learned to ride on my vulcan s .. same engine as the ninja .. and so far its been a blast.. even though ive been driving cars fir 18 plus years.. i still took about 1 month of riding backstreets before building the xourage to actually merge onto heavy traffic streets... 45 to 50 mph range streets.... now a year and a half later.. amd maaany u tube videos later.. im doing pretty good i might say... so 650s arent a bad way to to for starters ... its the 600cc supersports series or such that u gotta watch out for ...

    • @IaMaWeSoMe7478
      @IaMaWeSoMe7478 Před 5 lety

      Kawasaki even lists the 650cc as a beginner friendly bike on their website. And besides not everyone is 5'5 at 120lbs sometimes people are 6'2 300lbs and want to good in highways. Besides if you know you are going to trade the 300 in becuase its not enough power then why waste money like that unless your rich??

  • @RobertNixAlternativeArtist

    Have to disagree with you, new riders should start on a smaller bike as you did and then once you've got some skills you move up to a bigger bike.

      Depends. In the US, you barely get any public road training so i would say yes to that. In the Netherlands we get public road training on the sv 650x so its already good to start with a 650
