Am I the only one that cant keep their balance when they do lunges?
Me too...I "teter" everytime lol.
Nope
kat awsome you should work out your core a bit more.
Yes of all 7 billion people on earth, you are the only one.
As your legs get stronger your balance will get better. And what anah said about your core is very true. You need a strong core for stabilization. Yoga is good for that. Planks, as well.
Am I the Only one who skipped to the end to see the results
Nope.
... and they really weren't impressive either! LOL. I literally am reading the comments to see if it was only me that realizes that. Funny, some people are saying that the measurements are what matters, but what difference does the measurement make when the legs look the exact same? Plus, a lot of measurements went UP. That's not hopeful to me 😆
tonya bloom I agree they were not impressive lol! But the growth is just muscle, which in the long-term is going to be beneficial for weight loss but either way growth or not, it wasn’t impressive
nah
And there weren't any.
I really wish in these challenges they would take rest days because working the same body part continuously is damaging and minimizes their results
They probably do. They just need the clickbait. A lot of it is probably fake
Dude I hate when people come on these types of videos acting like they actually know what their talking about. This is a simple body weight exercise it pretty much minimal results and its completely different than doing something like squatting 200 pounds its not a big deal and you don't have to have rest days for bending on you knee it's like telling somebody to rest after they walk to much
You do realise when your muscles ache its them being broken down right... its a lot of miniscule tears in the muscle, those tears need to heal or you wont see any results, or atleast not as much, because you keep breaking down the muscle without letting it heal. Go fucking google it, you clearly dont know what youre saying, doesnt matter how heavy or light a exercise is.
*too much
But working the same body part over and over again really does damage the muscle you're working. You aren't going to see results in the long run when your body is constantly fatigued.
You ll never know what I commented .
Rahul Dabas good luck
Rahul Dabas 390 squats NOW
Duck you all for liking It 🙏😂😂
There's a typo I meant 1like= .10 squats 😂
590 squats
Lmao you can tell they turned the contrast up to 1000% in the after pic- the blue background is so much brighter, their skin is orange, and the shadows are 10Xs darker. Why you gotta clickbate- even if there was no obvious visual difference it still makes for an interesting video
Talking about the thumbnail
Haha, nice spot.
Nah they’re different look at the hands
King Frosty IX no they didn’t. She’s exactly right. They’re in the same spot intensely distorted
Well if there’s only a small difference they need to be able to show it not only for the people who are participating to feel better about themselves but to show is even if it’s a minute difference
If there are no rest days there will be little to no growth in the body part. You need to let your muscles recover in order to see growth.
Daddy Duhi how much rest days would be needed?
armymoomoo vibes 2-3 days
not for low impact exercises or volumes like this. after 5-7 days your body has acclimated to doing this and the lack of rest days would have zero impact on any growth.
@@anthonyward2433 Wrong
@@joedirt3493 no you dont need rest days for something as easy as this
1 like= 15 Squats
Kaylee Rojo ah u know what dat means
sonicfreak88 975 squats in total 😂💪🏼
You gonna be doing a whole lotta squats now
Kaylee Rojo RIP
3720 squats good luck
the knee caps in the thumbnail make me want to die
The guy sounds so adorable and sweet aw
YAGURLPRIN thank u appreciate it. Here's my number 4715789
Tevin Carroll hahah
He's gay
Linux Land okay and?
He is gaay 🤢
Just to let you all know backward lunges ( taking a step back instead of taking a step forward ) puts less pressure on your knees ! So if you have problematic knees or it hurts maybe try backward lunges ! X ( i hope this is accurate )
I like them a lot better than forward lunges and feel more stable for some reason doing them backwards
BuzzFeed, you guys really need to stop having your workers do 100 200 300 style workouts without rest days. They're so important jfc you could be making them hurt themselves.
Reb The appearance of the legs don't have to do anything with that I'm talking about lmao. This is about form.
I agree, I feel like they're only making these videos to make up for the backlash they've gotten in the past for saying being unhealthy and overweight is okay so they're making it up by making these videos. I learnt the hard way when I only did 40 sit up's a day it still killed me and I couldnt bend down or anything of the sort so rest days are very important, your muscles need rest.
cosmic_latte I highly doubt they were actually doing these daily. They even state that in the video.
Anne Smith Yea, you're right about that. I think what made me more mad was the days where they were 'making up' for their missed days and did like 300 in a session, like the girl from work. That's too much in one go, and I don't think that's okay. :c
You cant get hurt from doing bodyweight stuff, impossible. You can do 1000 a day and nothing will happend, you will have pain but nothing wrong with that
Your muscles need one day of rest after a workout, if you do this challenge do it every other day. I’m bothered that buzzfeed is promoting these “30 day” challenges. Some people are unaware of the damage from working out the same muscle every day.
Dani Tay its better to workout sore muscles, but obviously not to their fullest extent. These people probably never see a gym which is why 100 lunges is hard. You might get a little sore from it but its really not much more intensive than a mile run a day
Never skip *LEG MONTH*
Gian Browning fr their month of squats is probably the same as a few days on the squat rack doing ladders
You should more workout for say 2 days or 3 days and 1 day rest mainly because your body doesn't need that long to recover and become sore again, especially if you are keeping the counts the same such as them.
Dani Tay it’s body weight lunges you’ll be fine
It's not really the best advice to work out the same muscle group every day. Ideally you want one day of recovery.
how bout a regular workout buzzfeed tf is this
juli anna workout for lazy people like us
Are they serious?? In the before - after showcase you can literally see no difference except the color
Clara K its buzzfeed and 100/50 lunges, cant expect too much
buklao True, but then there's no need to show the results in a form of a picture :/ Even more so if you don't make/count the lunges properly
They literally took measurements. Pretty big difference.
Clara K thats why it is better to do tape measuring before and after they all either built muscle a.k.a. massed up or slimmed...toned up. Scales lie terribly to measure body sculpting to determinine progress from working out. They could have done far less reps (10-12) times 4-5 sets with light weight and done well. Resting a minute or two between. J/s
In the before picture he is wearing socks
my exercise today was walking to dunkin donuts and binge eating a bakers dozen of strawberry frosted donuts....
its daaria I relate to your comment so much girllll, damn
Lol, yes!!!! That's the kind of jaw exercise that I do at work girl!
its daaria not funny
Im a really neat Hater someones butthurt
its daaria no its so unhealthy
I could eat 100 Oreos a day... that’s my best 😂
Cody Whitlock well I can eat 101 oreos 😝
Why is it so easy lol
Ya nasty, that is like 5000 calories 😁
Cody Whitlock Psh I could 500 a day
simensikus no its not do your math 2 oreos are about 100 calories
am i the only one who can barely do over 5 lunches on each leg. i can do everything else (not push-ups tho lmfao) but it just hurts so mf bad
avari that just means ur weak asf train up to do more lunges
Thats really bad
Lunges aren’t some magical cure all workout, it’s not worth your knees
avari yeah it hurts when I do push ups too
I can do 5 lunches in each stomach...
I love how buzzfeed is encouraging everyone to exercise and shows the results.😊
EDIT: this was funnier when "Big Steve's" profile picture was a rich tea biscuit.
dodgy dave haha am I taking the biscuit?😉
Just no
Reskar 191 is your patience with me wafer thin now?😉
dodgy dave I had another joke but its scone now.😊
Haha is this cookie about to crumble? 😂
Love these videos and seeing folks motivated, challenging themselves and changing their bodies! May I add.. Front stepping lunges, back stepping lunges and walking lunges emphasize different muscles! 👌🙏
Burst out laughing @5.40 at the best summary of this challenge - "It was a lot of ups and downs." 😂
The lighting in the interviews kinda makes them look like sims
I bet that's how the people at BuzzFeed unsolved's legs look like carrying the channel with their legs
5:40 is that supposed to be a pun??😂😂👌
your mom lol true
I’m glad someone else noticed it 😂
Stop doing this! You need to rest your muscles so they will grow! Then you do more! I do this -> day workout day rest day workout. It works
Destroyer_5 Rockz they literally did 50 lunges on each leg total per day. It’s not like they were over exerting themselves. Lol
Destroyer_5 Rockz LMAOOOOOO, you think doing 100 lunges is even hard? It might be challenging to some to do it all at once but its literally just bending down with no weight other than body weight on
buklao righttt
missychelle33 Not everyone is fit like the guy that was in this video, it obviously was way more challenging for the curly haired girl, it depends on how fit someone is
+buklao 100 lunges is definitely hard when people aren't used to exercising. Please educate yourself.
they should do the 10 min jump roping workout for 30 days bc its an actual full body workout, and not just isolating one part of the body
I love these body weight/fitness challenges
Me knees hurt while watching this
CheerUp2 dude me too lol
Lunges strengthen your knees
REALLY???? I always hear and feels my knees popping when I do lunges....I didnt know you can strengthen the knee :0
Yeah, do they hurt too? You should try a video on how to do them, No I'm not bad mouthing haha!, I don't do lunges but I do sit up's and I was doing them 100% wrong until I watched a video on it so maybe that will help? idek tbh lol.
Just grabbed this from google for you! Lunges can feel hard on your knees, but if you're doing them right, they can actually help strengthen this area. Lunges are one of the best exercises for building the muscle groups in the leg that support the knee joint, especially the quads and hamstrings. , Also just checked out your channel nice Mep's and amv's ( I tried to do amv's but tbh I'm so impatient and cant be doing with tedious editing so I commend you for being patient !)
ACTIVATE YOUR GLUTES before each leg/booty workout! sometimes when you do squats/lunges you'll only feel it in your quads, and other muscles try to compensate if your glutes don't fire (like lower back or hamstrings), which means slower progress for your booty
How do you activate your glutes?
am i the only one who didn't understand the comparison :/ like which one was the before picture and which one was the after?
Mimi Simi the right side is the after shot. you can tell by the calf muscles
ive been bingeing all the buzzfeed fitness videos over the past few days lmao yaaay a new one
This actually showed a lot on me...I have big leg muscles but after not playin sports for two, three years they weren’t as defined or whatever. After about a week I saw improvements and they got stronger...so this does work if you already have muscle and you want to get back your legs back in shape...
1:01 "it's hurting me right now. I have no meat" ☠️☠️
What u should do is 2 challenges at the same time, alternating, so maybe Lunges one day and the next Push Ups.
This will give ur muscles rest & strengthening at the same time.
every time buzzed makes this types of videos I feel the need to workout!
I love these types of vids💗
So is it 100 each leg or 100 total?
LeikkLeikk 50 each leg so 100 in total
do another workout video with kelsey and evan
So we should note that stationary lunges going forward or backwards and moving forward lunges are all different exercises that target different muscles. Moving forward helps quads while stationary forward lunges use hamstrings more.
I prefer continuous short burst of running then lunging and then running again, it's a really good workout.
The thumbnail.., those legs look interesting....
Shouldn't it be 100 on each leg? At 3:55 she's counting each lunge as one instead of each leg as 1. So its 50 lunges for 30 days?
no if you take one step is that still a step. what makes you think that it has to be done in pairs
najee davis if someone says do 1 lunge how do you decide which leg gets that lunge.
Like how one rep of a curl is doing one rep on each arm.
najee davis umm bc 50 lunges a day is weak af. Have you ever been to a gym? You need to work out both sides equally. You should do 50 in each side not 25 that’s the worst thing I’ve ever heard.
missychelle33 I don't think you're old enough to go to the gym
Eww It's Him honey I’m old enough and I go all the time. I’m older than you I’m sure.
5:40 "It was a lot of ups and downs" ..... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Me: Aw come on! It can't be that hard.
*tries it*
Me: It's hard.
but what if i want to lose leg fat? would lunges not be good?
Ik this is a month later but you can’t target where you want to loose weight but you can add muscle. To lose weight you would have to slim down your entire body
*Started today, wish me luck!*
How did you do?
Well done Buzzfeed blue. I like videos like this. Should have more of it. It motivates others to become fit. ❤
More workout videos! So helpful
Okay, so tell me...
*WHO ARE THESE NEW PEOPLE?!*
50 is my actual warm up routine for my workout (video on my channel)... It's great to vary the length of the lunges, and spice it up with side lunges, reverse lunges etc :-) Short lunges work the quads while long work the glutes. But well done guys!
Just slip in dat self promo
All i saw was lower body training 😑
Thanks for the tips
Angel Lima The video is the "dynamic warm up and stretching routine".
Lamb Sauce Of course 😉
Oh my, I forgot I had the speed set up at 0.5 so in the beginning I was like, is that dude drunk?! lol
Most honest thumbnail in the world
Do 10 min abs workout for 30 days
5:36 is what you all came for. Thank me later :))
Thanks bee 🐝
"it was alot of ups and downs" hahaha...you punned and didn't even realize it. XD
Wait I'm new to this. and I really wanna try it out, 100 lunges for each leg or 50 each?
100 Lunges a day made your legs significantly more tan? 🤨
QUALITY CONTENT
woot woot
I think you're kidding but I can't tell
QUADity if you will
SaucySarcasm ehhh...
say that again? i-
5:39 "It was a lot of ups and downs." lol nice pun
These people seem like cool folks! I love the honesty!
1 inch difference...Just consume a high amount of sodium for like 3 days and get a quick pump from squats and there's your 1 inch difference. 100 lunges is just not enough volume to make gains. Not to mention there is no progressive overloading.
You said it, Air lunges ain't going to build muscle , plus no diet.
Buzzfeed keeps rolling out these lame exercise video.
Bago Garde what about if you do it with dumbbells?
Is that even safe?? Don't your muscles have to rest.
Chloe, I feel the same way. Working out a lot and then just not. The last time was due to injury but I am trying to get back to being healthy again. We Chloe's have to stick together!
Progressive overload if you want mass. Lunges are primarily for the teardrop, the medialis, as is evident on the after pictures. If you want more glute activation do squats but with a broad stance. The broader the stance the more the glutes get activated. Small stance is higher quad activation.
Zero, Zero, Zero
ZERO
Exactly should sent this to Elgin, They are doing Air lunges and expect to get some sort of muscular development.
One of the giril is using 5 pound dumbell.
All the people who don't actually weight train who love this content. I could spend two 8 minute intervals squatting a week, and I guarantee I get at least as good results... Plus these lunges will plateau, while for squats these count as complete newbie gains.
It's amazing how the lighting and shadowing all changes after 100 squats a day
Also is it 100 on each leg? Or 100 total??
I love a fun wellness challenge...i wonder what the result difference is via 100 squats vs lunges daily ????
And is it safe to jump into a 100 a day rather than working your way up??? Thanks guys im on my healthy body journey 🌻
Those legs in the thumbnail look painful.
2:08 "Pray for me yall, pray for me." I sure would need prayer too. XD
Roll out with foam roller and stretch after! That'll help you from getting as sore the next day!
Who else is going to try this! I wanna be hella THIQUÈ
hi
I really love these vids
"Struggled with my butt" LMAO
You came here for 1:10
Hi
I created my own little workout plan that I do once in the morning and one in the evening and there’s a lot of stuff on it with a whole bunch of different exercises that deal with legs, arms, and abdomen. In one day following my workout I plan I do 200 jumping jacks in total; 100 regular and 100 split jacks; 50 in the morning and 50 in the evening for both. I do 80 lunges in total; 40 in he morning and 40 in the evening. I do 160 squats in total; 80 regular and 80 jump squats; 40 in the morning and 40 in the evening for both. There are a whole bunch of other stuff too but when I started counting those are the ones that noticed I was doing a LOT of.
Edit; turns out I’m doing 80 mountain climbers also, 30 burpees, 40 push-ups, and I forgot to mention that I found a “30-Day Ab Challenge” thing where I do crunches, leg raises, and planks that increase each day. I do 5 times the day that I’m on cause I want to really master it. Well when I was counting I found out that I’ve done 120 leg raises today, along with 250 seconds of planks in total, but I did 300 CRUNCHES TODAY BECAUSE IM SUPPOSED TO DO 30 AND I DO THAT 5 TIMES IN THE MORNING AND 5 TIMES IN THE EVENING. Wow
Should weight be on the front or back leg when doing lunges???
Change your diet and you will see results super fast even without exercise...
You don't gain muscle by diet. You have to do both diet AND exercise.
why buzzfeed is the 🐐
I like how when they missed days they made up for the missed days and didn't just give up.
I have a problem. I am trying out for my school's Mini Olympics and I want my thighs to be slimmer. But I don't wanna get sore when trying out. What should I do???
*16.5 inches my arm is 17.5 inches* 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
yea.. never skip leg day yo.
Filip Černý ikr bro. I heard that and almost died 😂. I get that they’re beginners but they need a solid nutrition plan to back some growth. Not to mention that beginners can do just about anything and see results. They should’ve just trained full body 3 times a week instead
Does anyone have tips for losing inner thigh fat?
Kristina Bronzova you cant lose weight on one specific part of the body your body loses weight everywhere during weight loss cardio and diet is key.
And strength training. Your body burns more fat with the more muscle you have and it helps you lean out. It's good to include some type of strenght training in your workout.
Run
Thank you!!!
Well clearly not lunges
it's a love-hate thing when it comes to doing lunges. it burns my quads so bad when I add weights to it but omg it helps bulk up my twig legs and adds more shape to my glutes.
me: tries to lunge once
me: *rumbles and falls*
👎🏽.
:::Scratches off lunges from the list of exercises that matter.:::
Lunges with weights make a much bigger difference...
*Cringing so hard at their form..... Your results will not be optimum if your form isn't correct*
Nandini Rao Yeah and they wouldn't have all this pain if they had correct form
phillip reed you still have muscle painn with good form tho :p
Kirsten Elise That's just soreness what these guys are describing is joint paint.
Correct. It's fatigue one feels after doing it correctly not joint pain. Lunges are actually suppose to help strengthen knees not make them hurt. And doing any excercise wrong can cause injury.
I know right!, Also if youre a bit heavier you wont see differences that much, when I was overweight I was doing 40 sit ups a day which is plenty, and I realised sit ups dont give you a flat stomach, you need to diet and lose most of your weight and then work out or work out and diet if you understand? For example the black girl since shes a bit bigger and so are her thigh's we didn't see a big difference.
The thumbnail lol “I did 100 lunges and got a tan”
To all those fitness people; is it better to do all of them in one go or 2 sets during the day or 4 sets spread through out the day? It goes in general with all basic work outs. I wanna start working out.
I thought lunges r not good for your legs you can try something alternative.
Squats might work better
Lilly and August. Yeah, squats or weighted bridges is what I do.
Lunges are good for your legs. Add in some squats and Bulgarian split squats and you have a killer lower oft workout
+Dylan Klebold Lunges can definitely be bad for your legs - especially your knees.
Nabiya Ri Only if done incorrectly. They can be beneficial if done correctly. Reverse lunges are good if you suffer from knee pain in general as they put less stress on the knee
why tf do they keep saying “in one setting”. they definitely mean “sitting”
Because you do exercises in "setts".
where did you play d1 volleyball?
I'm going to start working out a ton until school starts again. I hope to keep it going during school but it is harder when I have school work to do.
I th8nk what the guy needs is to eat a bit more he's too thin.... He needs bacon twice a week
Yeah, my boyfriend is quite underweight and lanky just because of his build, but he drinks these shakes that put weight on him but not bad weight like fatty weight, he does this since he wants to gain a lot of muscle and you cant do that without some skin to work with haha!
I’m on club soccer and
For my soccer team yesterday I had an hour of soccer conditioning and an hour and 30 minutes of just soccer practice.
We had to do like 75 lunges and my legs felt like they were gonna fall off then a lap around the whole field and many other things for conditioning including more things with legs that make them burnnnnn but I don’t want to state them all but now my legs hurt extremely sore and I have what like 3-5 games this weekend (:
Like other people have said in the comments you need rest days and not work the lower body everyday, 2-3 times a week is more than enough. Also to help with the soreness, also known as DOMS, stretching after exercise is really important and if when you are sore the next day. Just doing lunges is a bit silly, adding glute bridges and/or squats would be better and will work the glutes as well, glute bridges in particular will help with that.
Since this video involves working out, Im hoping some people could help me.
I'm 12 and 5'4 and a half and weigh 138 and I'm trying to slim down. My uncle has set a exercise routine for me:
25 push-ups
30 squats
50 situps
3 minute plank
And something that involves the squat position and running on your tippy toes then going into a burpee 25 times
Anything I should add without seriously injuring myself?
