      @Tobyy eh well that's a bit of a misleading oversimplification. There's a wide range of normal values with testosterone and even being low during a test doesn't mean u have low testosterone in general. Unless you feel symptoms like depression, lack of focus, irritiability, excessive emotionality etc. you probably don't have low testosterone. those guys are probably endocrinologically normal.

The fact that they went out of their normal day’s routine to make a positive change in their lives (the intent was there) is such a inspirational thing to see. This quarantine really got me do things I'm too lazy to do before lol. I just finished my 28th day of this challenge. I agree with them about starting. It's a different kind of tired and soreness is a huge thing. But for me, i got past that in a week. Sure, I'm seeing significant changes in the arms and chest (mostly arms) and it's hyping me up. But the more amazing that I'm experiencing is the mental toughness to endure and also developed sense of discipline and consistency since I do the push-ups at 5:45 AM. I have this different kind of motivation not just doing the challenge but in other things as well. At first, it was because i wanna have big arms and all that but approaching close to the end of this challenge, I'm preparing myself to not treat it as a challenge rather look at it as a lifetime routine. Man I love this feeling. Feels like I'm transforming not just physically but as an overall individual.

      The persons pushup form was absolutely terrible and not working anything. There are things like hindu pushups that are variations but you don't have your back bent like that- you actually have it bent the other way to make them harder.

      Somewhat closer grip pushups are best, narrow base push-ups led to higher EMG values in the triceps brachii and pectoralis major than wide base push-ups in studies. Also lot less chance of injury/strain on rotator cuff. Just do not go to narrow as the more strain on elbows.
      If you want to actually do pushups for muscle building use bands- test have showed similar results from a group doing bench press with barbell and a group doing pushups with resisted bands. Also decline pushups show to hit more fibers in emg imaging than regular or incline (also same for decline benching btw)

      You probably needed more protein and you also need REST/Alternate
      days. If you keep working the muscle daily and not giving it time to heal and rebuild, you'll notice less of an impact on muscle growth. That is why you should alternate. Recovery period is just as important as the push up itself (plus amount, form, rest period duration between sets)

      The picture is a little misleading. He's closer to the camera, or the picture is more zoomed in. He is a little bigger in it overall, his head, ears, etc, things that wouldn't have changed size.

      I’ve been doing this challenge for a little over 3 weeks now and my routine is usually
      (20 reps then rest 10 secs try to pump out 5 more) x 4
      In between each each set of 20+5 i rest like for 1-2 minutes
      This is followed by 15x4 sets of crunches/leg raises/a few minutes of plank
      I only do this every other day though, the other day i do squats and pull ups

    • @LastBastian
      @LastBastian Před 6 lety +67

      Yep. Common tactic in all "before and after" pics. I could make a *drastic before and after transformation in one day!* ...just by slouching and relaxing in the "before" then standing straight, tightening all my muscles, getting a spray-tan, good lighting, smiling, etc for the "after".... you'd think I had been working out for a year to achieve the results! lol

      Makayla nicholl You can still tell, with the white guy especially, that there was still muscle growth. He body width is noticeably different regardless of what kind of shadowing they may have added for tone

    • @LastBastian
      @LastBastian Před 6 lety +14

      Body width? I can increase my "body width" instantly and dramatically just by flexing or flaring my lats or shoulders a certain way.
      I don't doubt that he was able to lose a little fat and gain a tiny bit of definition in a month. But the point we are making is that there are a ton of dishonest tricks that are used to make the changes seem more than they really are.

      Chris Atienza no to mention half the time their arm and hand placement is all over the place. Keeps elbos close to the body or in at your ribs and move your hands at a 15 to 25 degree angle inwards to lock in your chest. Then focus on squeezing your chest when you get to the top of your rep. It's not rocket science lol

    • @NoName-wh2kg
      @NoName-wh2kg Před 6 lety +19

      You cannot start doing perfect form push ups with elbows tucked in if you're weak. A year ago I couldn't do a proper push-up. It's a feeling of just not being strong enough to pull one off. Irving Lopez is right. We all start somewhere. You cannot just go straight into spiderman push-ups if you cannot even do 20 normal push-ups.
      In this case they cannot do a perfect form push-up when they cannot even do 20 decent push-ups. By decent I mean elbows going outwards but shill getting getting close to the ground. I mean if they cannot do that they won't even be able to do a single perfect push-up. Even if they could. What then? Manage to do 100 sets a day?

We all have our struggles and we all start at different positions and have different strengths. The key is to start. Much respect to these guys. There’s too much hate in the comments for people just starting their fitness journeys
