  • If your boat is dead except the blower and bilge then you might have the same problem I had.

Thank you Thank you so much!!!! Exact same thing with mine. Took it out after replacing the 15amp mini fuse. Ran it at all RPMs for an hour and runs awesome! I posted a video as well and there is more room to show exactly where the fuse is on the back of the motor. I wish you all the best and may Good Karma always be with you!!! 2008 Bayliner ignition died is the search

You can't know how important your videos are...first time boat owner, used 2002 Bayliner Capri. A few repairs done at the marina-really expensive-$1400. Took it out on lake, started fine, fished a bit, tried to start...nothing. The 'trim' control worked, bilge pump didn't work, had to tow it back. I am troubleshooting it now because husband wants to take it back to the marina but I think the problem has to be a fuse or a solenoid. It's going to be a really expensive boat if we have to take it in every time there's a problem. Thank you so much.

Man I hope this will be the fix to my solution. I’ve called myself checking everything & I honestly don’t have a clue what I’m checking, I just kinda poked in every fuse on the boat . I had no idea there was a fuse back there . Man I regret selling my Caravelle , I took on so much water during a parade on the lake that it pushed the kids from the bow of the boat to the back & I said that will never happen again . We we’re going so slow and it just took a nose dive . I really regret selling it . I had a ski Nautique (an older one) , then the Caravelle and now I have an older moomba Kanga . Hang on to that boat those are really good boats .

When this fuse was blown, did the engine crank or not crank? My 4.3L mercruiser won't crank. I can't find this fuse. Do you know the wire color? The key switch and battery are good, kill switch is set to run, slave solenoid (starter relay switch) is good, 50A breaker is new and pushed in. I turn the key and the starter relay switch just clicks. Seems to be sending power to the starter solenoid. The blower and bilge work, trim too.

I have this same issue now on my Bayliner (Mercruiser 3.0) 175. I checked those fuses that you show. I puled them out of their carriers and Ohmd them out and all were good. 2 were inline fuses around the engine all good. I did not see inline fuses around the starter key under dash. No sound what so ever from solenoid. Battery volts 12.66v I even put on a new 50A main engine fuse that you showed the one with the yellow gate that pops down. I took off all the battery cables and sanded them still nothing. I tested the starter key and replaced it with a working one from my other boat, nothing. Ideas?

Same what was the issue as have 3.0 mercruiser prepping ready to launch to the sea, fitted charged battery then went to crank it to run it up on the hose it cranked over fine 3 times then stopped gauges weren’t working then thought ignition was dodgey had a fiddle under the dash it flickered attempted brief crank cut off and now nothing no gauges working power to trim fine that works just not ignition and gauges been and bought new ignition thinking it was that but still same issue can’t. Checked fuses and wiring under dash all fine I don’t see any fuses on this motor engine side that could be related anyone have a clue??
