- In this video I install a 30" Diode Dynamics SS 30 light bar using a set of Shifts and Grins 30" light bar brackets.
I worked with Ryan at S&G to create these brackets so those of us with 5th gen Rams can install larger light bars. These brackets are 100% bolt on. Here is a link to the brackets: www.shiftsandgrinsfabrication...
I picked the Diode Dynamics SS 30 light bar because I already have their SS3 Max pods and absolutely love them so I wanted a light bar that could keep up with these pods. I picked the SS 30 up in the "driving" pattern. Here's the link to that bar:

I just finished installing the 30s light bar just like you man and thanks for the info thank you for engineering brackets awesome job. And I used Aux beam 8 gauge

Funny how it takes someone dedicated to their brand of truck to finally get someone to realize that we don't want 20" light bars, we want bigger! I wouldn't do the 20", way too small. Very nice! I assuming the brackets work on a 2021 ram 1500 lone star edition? How about the mess grill…is that exclusively for the rebel?
Nope it fits other 5th gen rams as well. These brackets should fit the lone star too
Great post! Do you think that if using the light for an extended period of time may heat the parking sensor harness and melt it?

I’m sorry if you answered this but will the shifts and grins bracket work with other light bars such as the Ruff country? I just want to triple check before I spend the money on the 30 inch as opposed to the 20 inch rough country also great video thank you.
You’ll have to compare the dd 30” light bar to the other light bars. If that are the same width they should fit.
How did u wire the light bar and be able to turn it on inside the cab? Also I saw u using a Bluetooth controller? How did u set this up?
I used to have a Trigger 4 switch panel but now I have the AUXBEAM RGB panel. I have videos on both. I like the AUXBEAM much better. More features but requires you to run a wire.
Hey man, love your videos, do you think it effects the light quality being behind the grill?
It does impact the light output particularly the light spread. Not a deal breaker but something to consider.

Hey, awesome video. I have a 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie and it has the solid lower grill panel and need the perforated one but when I click on the link you have in your video it says page not found. Could you help me out with a part number? I have tried eBay but it comes up with the solid one . Thanks Martin

Do you think the the Flood lenses on Combo variant would get lost behind the sensors and grill ? On the fence if the full driving light would be better to push more light out through the grill. Thanks
Yes I think your concerns valid. The driving pattern in all dd lights is amazing. It’s seriously the most useful light pattern out there

There just doesn’t seem like enough room to reach in and Allen wrench it. I got one side in by getting my hand over the light bar. But once I work on the other side the light bar is center and there is not enough room to wrap your hand up and behind. Is there a way to remove the mesh grill? That way I can work on it from the front?
The mesh can be unbolted I believe
Quick question. As far as the mesh area. I saw a video somewhere that you can remove that hunk of plastic from behind the mesh and be fine with doing a 30 inch light bar. Think there will be enough space ?
Yes the mesh grills are two piece, if you want my original light bar install video I show you unclip that part from the front mesh

Kind of hard to tell. Is that light bar a single row or dual row? If single row do you think a dual row would fit?

A test fitted the bracket with a dual row but yes the light in this video is a single row (of much higher quality than the double row I used for test fitting).
Will this fit a 30” only or a 32” will fit since the bracket has a slot
There’s some play so a 32” may fit as well
Just curious if anyone can give a comparison to the M&R grill (40") light bar i was considering?? As it's wider and also has the option of the amber DRL/white light as well
I’m in a ton of Ram groups and rarely see anyone posting about that brand other than the guy who owns the company so not sure there’s any sort of real world comparisons out there
What is the part number for the grill? What light bracket do you have for the pods?

The pods are mounted on Zroadz hood hinge brackets.
Do this light bar create a heat that might burn the sensor wires?
I’ve had no issues with any of the light bars I’ve ran

How do you remove the parking brake sensor I see you removed it but didn't say how

Is your truck the Eco Diesel? If so the inter cooler might be in the way.

Hey the reason I stopped back was because I was looking to see if you did any headlight bulb mods yet? (I looked through your play list it doesn't look like it.) Projector headlight bulb replacement switching to HD&Led seems like it can be a slippery road with challenges and I was wondering you your researched it yet? I enjoy your videos thank you.
