    In this video I walkthrough how to install and wire grill lights. This is a super easy project that adds a cool "pop" to the front end of the truck.
    This same process can be used on any car to add grill lights to the front end.
    I recently updated to smoked lights so here's the new light: amzn.to/2YTts2V
    Here is the old link for the clear LED grill lights: amzn.to/3EgqJRa

    I followed the video to install a DLR relay so I can run TRX style grill LEDs on my 2019 Rebel. What I have found is the white and orange wire does give me a 12v supply if I test at the end of the cable, but when I connect that wire to the relay coil terminal it does not pull the relay in. If I test the wire while it is connect the the relay terminal it no longer reads 12v instead my meter remains at 0V. The fused supply direct from the battery to the relay reads 15V, if I connect that 15V supply to relay coil the relay is pulled in. The relay I am using is the Single pole version of the same auto zone relay you used. Do you have any idea why my relay is not pulling in? RsL44 single pole RL44 single pole

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Před 3 lety

      It sounds like you’re connection into the wire isn’t a solid one. If you get 12v at the plug for the wire but after tapping into it you don’t get anything, your splice isn’t making contact with the wire.
      Also double check you are connecting the relay properly. Check your grounds

    • @G_Milbourn
      @G_Milbourn Před 3 lety

      I’m having the exact same issue. Everything draws power individually, but as soon as I plug it into the relay, the stops and reads 0V. Did OP figure out a solution?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Před 3 lety

      I believe he used a different wire (grey w/ orange?) to power the relay. You might have to dive into the harness or check online for a pinout of the headlight harness so see which wire is the positive for the headlights.
      On my truck 2020 Rebel with regular LEDs, it was white and orange.

      @@WaterFowler41 I have a 2021 and have the same white/orange wire you have. I already tested them directly wired to the lights to see if it was the correct wire and it is. The wire still provides power but the moment I plug it into the relay, it stops. I bought two relays and it does it on both of them. Thoughts?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Před 3 lety

      Man I’m at a loss here, you triple checked wiring? Verified your getting some voltage out of the wire before connecting it to the relay? You’ll need at least 9 volts (I think) to power the relay. You’re grounds are good? Both the relay and the lights should be grounded. The relay will still click if it’s grounded but the lights need to be grounded for them to turn on
