- In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche . I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this suv while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. you know i don't really like trucks or suv's that much, but for dome reason i have always liked the avalanche. The new one out right know is pretty sweet too. Have you ever driven one?

The Vortec 5300 is an awesome engine. IMO best GM engine ever made though was the 4300 found in the Jimmys/Blazers. My Uncle's Jimmy was just hitting it's stride at 250,000 kms before it was totaled.
I used to average 15-16 combined. All city around 14 and if all highway, 17-19. I added a level kit and 33 inch tires Now I get 13-14 average combined, or 15-16 Highway. Driving like grandma on the highway (55mph) I used to get 21-22 mpg Once I did the bigger tires, 18 is the best I can get. Worst I ever got was 12 ALL city with the big tires.

I also have a 2003 Avalanche, but it's not really that loaded. I do have dual-zone climate control, but it's all nobs and levers. Only thing power about the driver's seat is the slide/tilt. Passenger is full manual. I just wanna know if it's a base model or something (it's an LT).
@boy3611 These trucks have memory settings for two drivers for where the power seat is and radio presets I believe.

The TPS(Throttle Position Sensor) Is Probably Bad
iv always like the styling of the avalanche and that is a very nice one with leather and options like that... that is a common gm problem with the dash in 03-04 ish and i know here it is a recall so the dealer will fix it for free

I thought the speedometer did a gauge sweep in GM vehicles. Very well-equipped truck though. My friend's a senior in high school and he just got a 2006 Chevy Colorado, and he says he "LOVES IT!!!!"

I heard they were going to discontinue the Avalanche, and I've always thought they were really nice. Wouldn't hurt to go for it as they'll make F150's until the end of time!

@saabkyle04 yup i was looking at a 2003 chevy silverado and it had the same problem with the speedo so i called the locan gm dealer and they said it was a recall from 2003-2005 i think and they would fix it for free

Did you also take into account that the odometer won't count correctly with larger tires? It may not have made much of a difference, if it was not corrected then you're probably getting a bit better mileage than you think!

One is luxury, the other is standard. Quite obvious.

My speedometer broke also... a known issue thousands and thousands of speedometers broken.
Why does no one care that the gauge is always at 45 MPH on that gauge cluster???
The Speedometer gauge needle is stuck! It definitely needs to go to Dr. Speedometer!

My dad has an 08 avalanche lt and don’t buy one because if there is an engine problem you pretty much have to tear the entire front of the truck apart especially if there is something wrong with the ac that needs to be fixed
I have the 2004 version, I prefer it over this plastic abomination :) I love how the 2006 Colorado front lights look like modified versions of the 2002 2003 Avalanche...
I will like the video, but what I don't like is that its a pick up and an SUV all in one. I would rather have one or the other. NOT both.
i was never a fan of the older one's too much tupperware on it, i do however like the newer ones without it :)

I will say the interior is impressive. but the exterior is so cheap. half of it is plastic. not worth the money GM charges you.

Why the hell US made cars still use that ugly green colored displays? It seems like they made millions of them in the nineties and still are putting them on recent cars in order to empty their stock...look cheap and ugly.
I think its a cool truck but when your actually driving it feels like a car.
