  • How many of you have the book on how to be a good parent? By taking us on a journey from his childhood to adulthood to parenthood from prison, David confronts the importance of parenting based on children’s personal identities and talents. David also addresses how promising children fall into crime and how at-risk children rise above.
“Despite my circumstances, I am an extremely positive, happy-go-lucky and a kind-hearted person. An overly-involved father and loving husband, family is always at the center of my life. I’ve often said that prison has actually saved my life and has given me the blessed opportunity to see things with a clear and sober mind. Today, I can finally focus on a new beginning and turn a dark world into a world of light.” This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. This is my husband, and he is a remarkable man. I hope he is released one day. He has been a wonderful father to our children from prison as well as a good husband. He has overcome some of the worst tragedies any person could and remained optimistic along the way. He is always trying to help others and give sound guidance. I am proud of him and hope one day someone in high places will see that change does happened and people are holding onto hope that many have lost.

I hate to put blame on people. I feel like it doesn't accomplish much except leave a hole that needs to be filled. Realer words never said though. This is how I feel about my parents and my life. I had so much potential also being interested in computers. Maybe I still do. I'm still young and recently sober so I'm trying to find out who I was and live up to who I was. Thank you.
