Which theme do you use? 🤔
As a hacker, I have a picture of your mom as my theme.
White
White black is too dark honestly I want a custom but I don't have one
Used white for couple of years but when I switched to black I couldn't turn back.
Black, white hurt in my eyes
One of my favorite things about 3ds was the themes, added just a little bit more personality to the console and i would buy several
Especially with the music of your favorite game. 😩
@@MrToon-pk4yl like I use the red and blue one
I use a black theme
I wanna buy some themes for my 2ds but the eshop is closing soon and I don't have an eshop account 😭
Majoras theme is the best
3DS: many themes
Switch: 2 themes for 6 years
Can you really blame us Modders to use Custom themes tho 💀
Exactly themes when it’s unmodded it’s so basic lmao which is why I homebrewed mine for themes and free games Lmao
@@Mally02YT EXACTLY
The way he say “you hackers” made me laugh 😂
There is only 2 themes basic black and basic white obviously someone is gonna mod it and add more
Is it tough to mod? I heard that the process of doing it can brick it p easily
I use the white theme because I think it looks cleaner
I agree
those custom themes look so fun and playful, I wish nintendo would allow them. It reminds me of my colorful 3ds
You have the perfect profile pick for that comment 😂
we need themes badly!!! since the 3ds had wonderful themes :/
It’s sad that PS4 has so many, you even get some from games too, like Kingdom Hearts or Skullgirls.
It’s a shame the Switch for some reason, still has none
@@HoseB932 What is even more disrupting, that the PS5 doesn't have themes either.
The different backgrounds for each game are nice, but I would love to have the option to set a overall theme for the UI.
White theme was just default, so I just accepted it. I ain’t fixing what ain’t broke.
That's my reason too, it's the default and I simply don't care enough to change it. Most the time I'm going to be just clicking into a game anyway, it's not like I spend a lot of time looking at it.
it is very broke
If I am playing my switch late at night I prefer not to be blinded
i think nintendo should add themes included with games. for example, you buy Zelda BOTW, and put it into your switch, and you get the Zelda BOTW theme!
(but sadly this will most likely not happen)
the switch has been out for 6 years :(
@@HarryPanayiotouSTKN yeah thats why i think it wont happen :(
The PS3 did that. Why can't the Switch? So many consoles had a little jingle or background image when you popped in a game
@@1tsFawkes now that you say it, i think i remember about it!
yeah idk, i think the switch menus dont have personality
Themes wastes recources to game. The switch is a game console not a smartphone for daily usage
I actually went back to white a few months ago and don’t mind it. After using black for 3 years, white feels like a mix up and suprisingly not as ugly as I used to think
Same
Now read it without the context.
@@mauroelawesome6247 🤨
Legit same tbh. I got bored of the basic black after using it for so long, so I kinda felt like switching it up
I tried but it burns my eyes, only good thing is the blue on the cursor
Yeah but the white theme on switch is like staring in the sun
Let alone the switch OLED.
Yeah, the previous white themes of other consoles weren't eye-searingly white
I use the white theme only because it looks modern and more clean
Nope
white theme looks way better on the oled
I love using the light theme I feel like it makes the text and colors look better.
I use basic white theme, white is a brighter better looking more happy background
White themes in general just look cleaner. I’m still waiting for the Switch to have custom themes like the 3DS.
just mod your switch
Honestly especially on TV the white theme makes the text look less rough
Now i feel superior having a custom theme
Me too
You are
They should add custom backgrounds for games like if you buy them you get a background for that specific game
That's a neato idea, i like that
I use the white theme to hurt my eyes
Same 🤣
I feel like if you have a normal switch you use basic black, but if you have a switch light, use basic white
They should make it so you can buy themes in the eshop like they did with the 3ds.
I use the white theme with the reversed color filter
I used to use the black theme, but I have a worsening astigmatism that is irregular and therefore can't be corrected with lenses. It basically causes me to see a double image, particularly when I am looking at bright colors against a dark background. It's just become too disorienting for me to use the dark background, and games with low lighting like Metroid Dread can also be cumbersome at times.
Honestly, I just think he white theme looks livelier! In any other case though, I prefer dark mode.
Woah didn’t expect you here
@@mrdiobrando Yo! 🤣
I use white theme because I go over to friends houses with my switch a lot and that way I can easily tell which switch is mine just by turning it on! if it's white it's mine
It's like having a whole flashlight right at your face
i want to use customized themes 😭
I switch between the two whenever I feel like it.
The fact that we went from a handheld console with custom themes to a home console with no themes is still mind blowing to me how such a huge step back Nintendo made .
Ok here me out, when you bring up the side menu in light theme you get a nice light blue on black color combo while on dark you just get gameboy green
He said “you hackers” with so much annoyance in his voice, Nintendo and the rabbit fanbase just can’t leave us modder alone.
My sister uses white theme on her switch and i always get so angry when i see her switch home screen 🤣
I only use the white theme so when I play in the dark my eyes don't get fried when a game starts with a white/really light screen
I use Basic White because that's just what it used when it started up and I was too lazy to change it.
On my Wii U I have a custom black and blue theme. Black background with blue icons.
I have two Nintendo switches that I use consistently, the only distinguishing feature is an unnoticeable pattern on the back. So I use the White theme for one and the black for the other
I use the Basic Black Theme on my Nintendo Switch. My cousin he uses the Basic White Theme on his Nintendo Switch
A year ago I found this video and I still think you to this day because back then all I had was the basic white theme and I didn't know that it could change and I didn't feel like looking it up. So when I came across this it was cool to know
The Xbox 360: pitiful, I HAVE HUNDREDS!!!
I use basic black but my friend got his switch about a year ago so he doesnt even though whenever i see him i BEG him to change it and he most likely always says “ill change it later”
I will buy a day 1 switch to mod it so I can have custom themes.
I use to have the black theme, but I at one point had the white theme during handheld and just stuck with me
I love the white more than the black now
I got an OLED model and I realized the black theme isn’t completely black (more of a dark gray.) so I decided to put on the white theme so it could match with my white OLED switch.
I wish that Nintendo made it so when you take pictures you can actually said those as your wallpaper also maybe they could add a knee chat feature like they did on the way you so you could actually text call people and send photos on your Nintendo switch
I remember when I first got the switch and the next night I woke up to play some games only to get flash banged.
No, it’s just because it’s automatically set to the white theme and I just got used to it before knowing how to turn it off, heck, I’d never even heard of the dark theme
The only reason I decided to switch to the black screen is because I’ve had my Nintendo switch since the day it launched and my battery basically only last for an hour now, so I heard that light mode runs your battery longer than dark mode does so much changed it
I use the white, my partner uses the black. However I also use light mode on my phone and my partner uses the dark, so it aligns with our general preferences.
"ya hackers" has me dead
I use the basic white theme to kill my battery faster, nothing like it!
Trust me: a lot of my family members and friends who had the Nintendo switch as their first EVER console just had the basic white theme with random games like LOL suprise fashion show or something
“Ya hackers” 😢. Can you really blame us?
And then there’s me, who didn’t even realize you could change the theme until watching this video 😎
I don’t use dark mode on anything except the switch. Something about the darker colors just look so much better on the switch. I really want Nintendo to add custom backgrounds like every one else
I go back and forth between the two.
To be honest I use the black theme more than the other one mostly because I forget how bright it is
Growing up with the ds and wii I definitely use it for nostalgia
because of this video i remembered arms exists
To encourage people buying games digitally, each digital game comes with a custom background
My friend uses the white theme because “i cant be bothered to change it right now and its not even that bad”
I wish it was like my 2DS XL where there’s multiple different-colored themes so you can pick from a variety
I used to use the basic black theme on my old OG Switch but since getting a Switch lite I use basic white because the theme now matches the buttons.
it's just the white theme because it reminds me of the Wii
I use light theme on every device. And most of those devices switch to dark mode after the sun goes down.
EmSwizzle: “not trying to point fingers here”
i use it because of astigmatism 😔 screens used to give me terrible headaches before i started using light themes, plus text is almost unreadable on dark themes if you have an astigmatism.
Your channel is getting better and better.
Thank you so much! :)
@@EmSwizzle Thanks for the reply bro! Been here almost since the begining!
I got my switch for Christmas 2018. I used the white theme for 3 days total. That’s 1457 days I have used the black theme.
I use the white theme because I barely use my switch. It's more of a party console when people are over
I have been using the white theme since I bought my Switch on launch day. I didn’t know you can change themes lol.
I use both lol. However I do these things what I do with my phone, (sunrise to sunset) so when the sun is up, I use light theme. If the sun is setting, I use dark theme. (I know the switch doesn't have automatic but I manually do it.)
Didn’t even realize there was something other than white😅
Laughs in homebrew
Nintendo needs to add more themes, why have a dedicated theme option menu if you're just gonna have black and white
I mostly use the black theme because when the switch is up close to my eyes, i dont want it burning my retinas.
The only time I’ve seen people use the white theme is if they didn’t even know there was a black theme
I’m part of the majority who uses dark themes when they’re available, as soon as I heard there was a dark theme I immediately changed it lol
I use white but only because it looks nice on my oled model
I use themes of Mario, Zelda & Persona. I’m in love with custom themes.
I've been using the white theme since 2017 when I first got my Nintendo Switch. Dark theme is easier on the eyes if you are in a dark room but this only applies to the home menu and most games are still going to be too bright. Instead of using dark theme the solution is as easy as adjusting the brightness.
I used it for MONTHS before discovering dark theme even existed.
“Do people actually use the Nintendo Basic white theme”
Yes, yes we do
It would be cool if there were an automatic option
White during the day and black during the night
Idk man the black theme just cleans the edge up nicely
Mines a custom theme for the show The Magicians. It's Quelliot!🖤
i use the basic white theme ever since i got my switch on year 2019, my friend however uses the black theme, i can easily tell which is mine when i wake up the switch screen when its white theme its mine 😆
if i had a oled i would prolly use the white theme to match with the white joycons
I use the basic black theme because it saves a tiny bit of battery life
I wish custom themes were a thing you could use on the switch, the 3ds did it.
Unless they add a yellow/gold theme (my favorite color) or a Pikmin theme, I'll keep the white since I don't feel preference to either and am too lazy to change it.
I didn’t even know people liked the black
theme
I use the white theme because I don't care enough to change the colors. Also, it's a much happier color. I want to be in a positive mood when I remember the Switch doesn't really have any features outside of playing games.
I use the Switch basic white theme on my Wii lol. Nobody has made a Switch black theme for Wii yet.
I just switch every few months because I like some diversity
People defaults to dark themes whenever is available, it's the way we're being programmed
Playing in a dark room with the white theme hurts my eyes so I just use dark theme all the time.
The top 2 custom themed ones both played undertale recently
I use basic white for my Oled as it fits and feels fresh compared to everything else usually being dark mode
I Use The Basic White Theme Because I Think It Goes Well With The White Joycons On The OLED
I don't own a switch but I would definitely go for the black theme
