In this video, I use Photoshop to create 3 new app icons for popular brands! This is a whirlwind of painting, shading, and throwing together every texture under the sun. We've got some custom illustrations and a lot of photo editing tricks too!

@@DemonPig666 It was. I dunno where this guy is getting that it ever was a "game controller". Yes, Discord is primarily used for communication while gaming but I am pretty sure he just made up thsi part about the logo, or is just claiming his own interpretation is the actual story behind it. (it is not.)

@@JamesR624 It took me 2 minutes to look up the history of Discord's logo and find that the icon indeed resembles a game controller. All it took was a little over 100 seconds to instantly prove your bs wrong 💀
With the world slowly starting to hate on minimalistic designs, it is a matter of time where realistic stuff like Y2K or Skeumorphism will return back in principle in design. And you have perfectly captured the old and gold days of the old iPhone Icons and aesthetic.

I’d say underrated is like a channel that has less than 50k subs
I used this video as a timer for my cookies. L-...Like they are supposed to be in the oven for 10-11 minutes so this is perfect.
These icon designs honestly made me shed a tear at the nostalgia they have brung me, I remember the 2010's were just starting to begin, and I'd play Angry Birds on my Aunt's IPad, and in the process, just admiring all those incredible app icon designs while she flipped through her home screen; amazing Job at these!
You could have integrated your sponsor a lot better by making their logo realistic while talking about it.

As someone who was an app designer in the skeuomorphic age of design, it was great seeing such detailed design again! Though, better than a lot of what was seen then.

Your creativity and skill is amazing! You make your art look so effortless, you're a true master at this craft! One thing though, and this is not a critique. Did you know that app icons are no rectangles with rounded corners? They're 'squircles', the sides are actually not straight. They're bent ever so slightly, this makes them look more organic on your phone screen. This blew my mind when I first read this!
Wow. Every time I watch this I'm astounded by this work. It honestly really impresses me how he can make super realistic logos, or super simple logos. This channel always finds ways to impress me.

As someone that uses photoshop myself I have a couple questions, for your rim lighting and shadows it seems like it’s just a predefined curved that already snapped to the box, and I’ve literally never seen you use the paint bucket tool. Good video, as I assume that’s just for retention cause it’s something to look at.
I personally like minimal logos, but it is these videos that help teach me photoshop and graphic design

I always interpreted th e spotify logo as radio waves, not sound waves, but yeah, nice work! Reminds me of the beautiful "maximalist" icons on weloveicons before everything went flat and sad

modern icons are so simple anyone can remake them; I literally did all the main social media logos for a calendar back when I was working for a local shop. I couln'd find them in a vector format or good quality PNG, so i just did myself, in CorelDRAW.
