- First it was the Formula Wheel Mod and now its the ES 12 Inch Round Wheel mod from Moza racing that transforms the original ES wheel rim. This is another option to tailor the budget minded wheel to your own preference.
While the Formula mod was only $39, The 12 Inch Round wheel mod cost $79. This time the wheel comes with Paddle Shifter Addons to beef up the shifter and extend them to your fingers on the now larger wheel.
Shaun Cole tells you everything you need to know about this mod that is built for a very specific group.

I went with the CS wheel when I bought my R9 (330mm rim). Coming from a thrustmaster wheel, I quickly purchased a 300mm Sparco rim for my CS. It’s the perfect size.
Good review, but I would’ve liked to see a back-to-back comparison to the CS wheel (as you almost allude to at the end).
The CS is only $30,- more expensive than the ES + 12” rim (300mm), but it is also noticeably heavier and even wider (330mm), which dulls the FFB, even on the R9.
Simply from a minimized torque dilution perspective, the ES + 12” mod might be better suited for the R5 and even the R9, for Rally and Drift enthusiasts.
However, that’s what I think is the case, without having experienced either.
You might be able to form a more informed opinion.
As an aside, a back-to-back comparison between the ES+Formula mod and the GS or FSR might be interesting as well.
Really appreciate how you bring the Moza products options to our awareness and show where their value is. Thanks
Thanks Shaun. I got Fanatec just so I could have a bunch of wheels for whatever I was driving - the most important immersion piece IMO swapping between cars/trucks.
i love your videos keep it up :D
Thanks!
Good info good review I'm personally waiting for the asetek universal hub with this affordable 12" Rim for some oval Racing once it comes out.
Great review Shaun. Would be nice if Moza would sell the paddle extensions separately.
Is the mounting holes a 70mm PCD?
I wish they qould make a formula rim forbthe r5 as a while wheel so u sidnt qhve to unscrew it all. Or whats the point in the cool quick release whwn we only have rhe onw wheel to choose from
It's probably wisest to just buy a second wheel and quick release... that is, if Moza sells them separately from the R5 bundle.
The r5 should just come this way stock, or have the option at checkout
I mean it is an option
I hate that they didn't wrap the lether without seems at the buttom and sides like the stock wheel. Just looks cheap
This intro music is too loud!
Omg just turn ur volume down and be quiet
