Homer: *Grinning ear to ear.*
That and then the part right after where Homer blames him for the wall destruction would get me as well.
Homer wuz embarrassed!
Cartoon logic: He would have lived if drinking that. He's Homer Simpson.
1:10 lmao that smile
And 1:27
"He had three beers at lunch - that would make anyone sleepy"
Homer's Enemy with Frank Grimes along with Lisa's Rival and The Springfield Files are my absolute favorite episodes of The Simpsons and I really love the first nine seasons of The Simpsons the best. Homer's Enemy was one of the most brilliant and best Simpsons episodes of all time, Frank Grimes was a stellar Simpsons character, and the scene where Frank Grimes saves Homer Simpson from drinking the sulphuric acid was also great. Frank Grimes would definitely have a field day with Drew Pickles and Charlotte Pickles from Rugrats.
I love how both Lenny and Carl are on the same page as Frank with how insane Homers life is, but they cope by not thinking about it.
The “Executive Vice President” barking as Burns is yelling at him is too funny. Literally laughed out loud!
Much be *one* clever dog!! He's doing his job pretty well.
The amount of jokes crammed into only two minutes is absolutely stellar work by the writers. They even Easter egged the soon to be used kids Power plant design contest behind Homer
LOL at the doggie VP barking and growling off-screen in the office while Burns is chewing him out
I love how the dog was barking at him while in Burns office 😂😂
At least Burns' choice of this dog as Vice President is being effective.
Agreed.
He had a say in the matter. He WAS the vice president, after all.
@@dreamquesttv 😂😂😂😂
...even the dog looked pissed off when it first saw the damaged wall! 1:15👈😂🙏😅👍

@@kaidyer8761 Grimes: Sir, if I hadn't.... (Vice-President Dog giving an lecturing.) Burns: *NOW GET OUT!* Homer has *now* really made an enemy as Grimes storms out.
I like that Mr burns was more mildly annoyed then angry.
@@harrisonbetker2271 To me, he sounded like he was giving Grimes a *right* hammering!
Carl said the best thing in this short video. “It’s best not to think about it” if only Grimes took that advice 😂😂
Agreed. Grimey could've just ignore homer or find work elsewhere. But grimey being grimey, he let it bother him to the point of insanity.
And this is what happens when people try to apply logic and reasoning with madness
That's my reaction after I almost died. I laughed my ass off after I almost fell off the side of a mountain.
tk shadowboy shit man, sometimes that's all you can do, I swear that's your body's way of making sure an event doesn't scar you for life
I almost got hit by 3 speeding cars a lol I could do was laugh
Sounds like nervous laughter to me. You know like when people cry when they're happy? Sometimes the human body goofs up emotions
Sastré phrase doesn’t work in this scenario but ok
Roddy Dykes my mother said sometimes comic relief can be good for coping with dramatic events
What gets me is Homer's empty headed gaze at 1:48 and Frank's twitching face after Homer says "Do I have to do anything?" I'm in fucking pieces
His face at 1:11 is hilarious too.
The way Homer says “hey Grimey old buddy” and “he likes you” 😂😂😂
What I want to know is, why the hell are beakers full of acid sitting on a windowsill right by the lunchroom?
Because Homer is the safety inspector of course.
The safety inspector isn't doing his or her job in keeping the employees safe. Who was the safety inspector again?
@@chrissawyer1484 not sure i think his name was hozer or something like that
Don't think, frank
"Do I have to do anything?" is such a perfect response
LOL at the vice president barking at Grimey.
And then growls at him when he exits
Frank is actually a good person! He only hate him, due to his bad habit.
Fun Fact: Frank Grimes Came Back as a ghost in the 600th Episode
He also had a son who wanted to kill Homer in another episode....
Zack Stark who did you know this was posted 3 months ago
Grimes and his gravestone and other things like his son appear a lot
1:40 I love how frank continues to try and explain himself but once the dog barks he shuts up, don’t wanna get on the VP’s bad side I suppose
Frank Grimes just saved Homer's life by preventing him from drinking a beaker full of sulfuric acid. Homer repaid that by getting Frank Grimes in trouble with Mr. Burns, prompting the boss to scold the poor guy and reduce his salary. That's what Frank Grimes gets for trying to help an enemy, although it's Homer who should straighten up and fly right, not Frank Grimes.
When you compare cartoon logic to real life logic. Which is what this *very* episode was portraying perfectly. Makes it all the more dark and memorable.
There's a poster for the power plant building contest at 1:00, great attention to detail
Kind of reminds of some of old classmates who just had everything handed to them as kids while my parents treated me like an envestment that may not be worth much....

Stop being a bitch homie
Hank Azaria put on a legendary performance as Grimey
I think Homer was flanderized in this episode, but I think it was done intentionally to bring out the character of Frank Grimes!
I love how lenny casually says "316 times by my count"
I love how when Burns is going off, you can also hear the dog barking at him 😂
I like how Homer never even tried to be mean or rude to Frank, and even invited him to his house offscreen
Oh yeah. I was Frank Grimes in my last job. That frustration when you can see a problem so clearly.
I've lived the same frustration like you and was fired after
Homer's Enemy with Frank Grimes along with Lisa's Rival are both one of my absolute favorite episodes of The Simpsons, Frank Grimes was the best character of Homer's Enemy episode, and the part where Frank Grimes stops Homer Simpson from drinking the sulphuric acid was excellent. Frank Grimes would also be a great match for Randy Marsh from South Park.
This is such a great episode.
"Stay away from me, we're enemies"
"okay do I have to do anything?"
Best comeback ever lol
*Now* Homer must in some way felt what Flanders felt when he was in Frank Grimes' shoes.
" That irresponsible oaf!!!!" LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 0:29
"i may be a loner but your friends talk shit behind your back"
The Mr. Burns ass-chewing was the best part.
The dog barking was priceless! 😂
He *is* already making himself an effective employee at Springfield's Nuclear Power Plant. For being an different species, that is impressive.
LOL at how the dog growls at grimey when he tries to defend himself
@@geoff3103 That's some *fine* lecturing from man's best friend, I must say! 😲Or in Grimes' case, enemy!
@@SuperTed19021 😂😂
Grimey just made himself Homer’s 317th piece of plot armour
“Boy, would my face have been red hehehehehe..” great line 😂😂😂
Grimes made the mistake of taking out his anger on one man, rather than taking out his anger on the system that allowed that man to even be there in the first place.
"He had three beers at lunch" -Daddy Lenny
So wait! They're not at lunch right now? Why are they just standing around and eating then?!? Get back to work before I tell Mr. Burns directly!
Carl gives the GREATEST advice EVER... 0:41
🍺😎👍
To think, if Frank hadn’t saved Homer, all his problems would have been solved and he wouldn’t have gotten a pay cut.
In real life, he would have suffered an torturous death and would have been an grieving loss to his family and friends. Not to mention the plant would have suffered an enormous scandal and Grimes, Carl, Lenny and staff of the Research Lab could have got fired or worse for severe negligence. But *this is* Homer Simpson we are talking about! Part of me think he would have survived somehow. Like he had done tons of times before.
@@SuperTed19021you can stop masturbating to this episode.
He saves homers life and homer dobs him in to mr burns for destroying the wall and its homers falt no wonder frank is livid
Frank grimes was one of my favorite characters. I really hope he comes back for one more episode.
William Woelke He appeared in the latest Treehouse of Horror
John Sullivan you stole my line!!!!!!!!!
William Woelke What's worse, HS calls him Grimey...lol
William Woelke he's dead bro.
William Woelke fuck you
One of my favourite Simpson episodes
he´s literally a Real Life Person in a Cartoon World
*JUST IT!*
02:03 I feel a stroke coming on.
Iike lenny and Carl in this episode they are basically playing normal people who instead of being bitter just decided to lean into the insanity.
I love how Lenny and Carl we're nonchalant when Frank Grimes is degrading Homer. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love the accidents graph behind Homer lmao 📈
The impression I get from these little clips of Grimes, is he's essentially fourth walling the Simpsons as a whole, looking at their idea of reality as too far beyond the comprehension of a world regular people like the viewer live in. It's quite profound
I love how Lenny has known that Homer almost gotten himself killed 316 times and sounds so use to it.
"My valuable wall and priceless acid" lmao
"Do I have to do anything"
sometimes even doing nothing can anger them to the very core. One man has hated me for 10 years because his ex girlfriend wanted to ask me out. she never followed through, and he's hated me ever since.
People are petty.
I love that there's acid just sitting on a break room table.
“He had three beers at lunch, that would make anyone sleepy”
"Do I have to do anything?"
Homer would actually be pretty endearing if his mistakes didn't get other people in trouble.
Homer's face at 1:10 killed me
haha that smile
Ricky Ray me too!
Same here
It's infuriating to watch poor grimes get ignored over and over again, but I suppose that's what the producers intended, and it worked very well. This is an episode that's so deep it seems to stand head and shoulders above all the other episodes in terms of how debate-worthy it is.
This episode is definitely in my top 5.
When i was a kid i felt like Grimes.
The older i get the more i feel like Homer
Grimes: God he eats like a pig.
Lenny: I don't know, pigs tend to chew. I say he eats more like a duck.
