    Maybe I missed it but why did you drill the 2 extra hole when drilling the miter bar holes? You drilled 2 not in line with the miter bar. Everything else was explained great thanks for these build videos. Please keep them coming.

      Kevin, great question!
      On our original 360 sled plan, we made the two extra holes so you can use the sled with the long axis parallel to the blade or the short one parallel.
      The center mounting hole is used for both, but you can turn the ZEROPLAY Miter Bar 90 degrees depending on your work.
      Our new green ZEROPLAY 360 Sled Plans do not have these extra holes. We found that folks rarely turn the sled, they tend to use it as set up the first time.
      The new 360 Sled Plan video can be seen here: czcams.com/video/BHZVqRkGA-s/video.html

    hi, thanks for the vid. You use a 1/2" x 14 degrees dovetail bit. Where I live in Europe, the only dovetail bit available is a Bosch 14mm diameter x 15 degrees. Would the slots cut with this bit work with your dovetail hardware please? Thanks again!

    • @Microjig
      @Microjig  Před 3 lety

      John, the 14mm would likely be too wide. A 13mm might be usable but we have not actually tried it.
      We DO make our Dovetail Bit with 8mm and 12mm shanks to fit European routers, so you can use our bit to cut the needed Dovetail Track.
      You can order directly from our website, and we also have some European Dealers.

    I've attempted building one of these twice now. Dovetails are too wide for the hardware and/or plywood splits out when I try to clamp anything down.

    • @Microjig
      @Microjig  Před 3 lety

      It sounds like you are either cutting the slots too shallow or your bit is not a 14 degree angle. Even using a 10 degree bit makes the groove too wide, so the clamps or hardware tend to extend above the groove so they do not clamp properly.

  • @thevoiceofthelordpastorkei7165

    Okay great, but do we get our 2 nickels back? 😒 shheezzee! Lol

  • @berneysgospelmusicchannel3241

    My marks for the 6 holes came out closer to the edge than what’s shown. I measured and remeasured. Any suggestions?

    • @Microjig
      @Microjig  Před 2 lety +1

      Berney, that is not unexpected. The distance from the miter slot to the blade differs from saw to saw. It can be as little as 4-1/2" or as much as 6".
      As long as the holes will not interfere with the dovetail slots there is no problem.
      BTW, you can always set the ZEROPLAY so that the sled base is over the blade, then trim the edge. This will give you a zero clearance cut line!

    Have you had your green hardware not tighten in the dovetail grooves .....my fences move on my sled even though I’ve tightened the hardware. The green slider is not tightening against the angled sides of the dovetail. Any suggestion on what I’m doing wrong? Dovetail grooves not deep enough?

    • @jwheetree
      @jwheetree Před 3 lety +1

      I've got the same problem. There is no gap between the hardware and the face of the base. That or the plywood splits. I thought this was going to be a great thing I'd use all the time. I'm disappointed.

    • @lawrencep5427
      @lawrencep5427 Před 3 lety +1

      Wheeler Hammontree I haven’t tried this yet.....but those grooves that really don’t work seem to be shallower than those that work. I’m going to try going deeper with the groove by a 1/16 or so ......more than the set up guide indicates. I’m thinking this is the issue. Try it....it might work.

    • @jwheetree
      @jwheetree Před 3 lety +1

      @@lawrencep5427 My problem is the width of the dovetail at its narrowest still allows the hardware to be flush with the surface. The dovetail needs to be tighter widthwise. I cut the dovetail to the narrowest part of the neck of the bit was right at the surface.

    • @Otterbrookdesign
      @Otterbrookdesign Před 3 lety

      yup, dovetails not deep enough, i found you have to go a little deeper than 3/8 or it may bottom out in some areas. see my video at czcams.com/video/o0WzSWp_H5E/video.html

      @@Otterbrookdesign spot on...same issue then went back and used the depths from their setup guide, making sure i reproduced same fence settings from relief cut and dovetail - got the result, no movement. In comparison, there wasn’t enough depth in the cut the first time.
