On a side note, I remember the Biffa from the Banished days, and now, look at you, another step closer to the Million-mark club. Never change and thank you for all the entertainment.
Thankyou ☺️ 🙏
YES. I also wouldnt mind a banished megamod again :D
What I like is that he makes a simple situation into something incredibly complicated.
I've heard that Teaside was historically represented in Parliament by the Earl Grey. It's a place with real history
Finally, a new video on this city. I've been waiting ✋️.
Hope you enjoyed it! :-)
So, so glad that you're back with CS1! As someone who only joined the CS world as everything was gearing up for CS2 it's very exciting to see content in real time. Really love the retaining wall with the stairs, but get rid of the other one! You could keep it against the road but just slope the hill gradient from the stairs retaining wall into the open area behind so that people can actually access it. Also I second all of the roundabout comments. Thank you so much for your content Biffa, and it is great to see you back at what you enjoy!
That river should be called "The Teames"
if you build a footh path, from your keywall with stairs, to the terrace houses, that would form a nice shortcut for the masses of people living there to go to the tesco
This here is what I love about CS1! The detailing you can do. On my favorite save file, I created all the shopping districts by hand. It took a long time, but it is so satisfying to look at in the end. All the tools and assets available make it possible to recreate anything you can imagine. I just don't get the same thrill clicking the blue tiles and seeing what the game decides it wants to throw in there.
I understand the folks that love detailing, it's a talent like other arts. I just don't have the patience.
@@inyobill :D Think of it like building a 5000 piece puzzle. It would relax half the people, but drive the other half nuts. LOL!
@@SmallFry140 Good analogy
Biffa has to be the most calming CZcamsr I’ve ever seen 😃
Great vid I love how chill this series is!
I always think that one of the flaws in all your cities... is the determination to try and flatten the ground everywhere and try to put gradients in. Everywhere you go, you see tiered levels, retaining walls and so forth... and behind the wall 15ft lower down is a big industrial park or supermarket and there's a road that curves down and around to parking.
I always feel you should do more of that to your cities and work with the uneven ground rather than flattening it all out.
As ever, love to see CS1 getting more attention. I'd entirely given up on anything for CS2 until such a time as they actually make it a working, usable game (so maybe a few yrs)
You are absolutely right! I know it is just a game, but still...
I think when you were having issues with the surface painting, you had the bulldozer tool open. I think that was overriding the surface you were trying to put down, when you clicked it was essentially trying to buldoze thin air.
You could also have a mini roundabout by your BP station so people could get fuel without having to get near the shop. Or even a second entrance to the smaller residential road.
Loving the series so far!
Something needs to be called Mr. Tea.
i pity the fool
He pities the fools who drink coffee.
Add the gym & spa etc. health assesst, once they are unlocked, in the blank area next to Tesco.
I'm not too fond of the key wall it's overthinking it and it makes it look too busy. I like the natural cliff look instead, but each to their own. Nonetheless, It's looking good. 👍🏼😀👍🏼
Shame it's not a coastal city (Although I suppose you could call the river the river tea
🎵 _Oh I do like to be beside the Teaside..._ 🎵 etc
How we doing sir? All I want to say is thank you for still playing City skylines. I know there's a few bugs and whatnot but it still plays amazing and it looks great and people can still be creative. I don't know why people are complaining so bad about it.
But thank you again for still recording episodes of City skylines.
Okay okay I didn't realize it was the first one. Still nice to see something city skylines.
I'm honestly very surprised that there isn't already a River Tea in the UK.
You should have a roundabout at the into the Tesco…. That way they can use petrol station and leave. That’s the usual layout for a large retail park!
I do think you need the 1u roads. British road design is essentially where it fits, so smaller roads are more common.
4:30 oh good, you realized you needed the parking lot road (no spaces) to properly connect the back alley. I'd suggest that, instead of the industrial and normal roads, you replace ALL of the roads with the parking lot road. (unless in the UK it's common for shopping centers to use different alley roads?)
Please make more Cities Skylines
Biffa...mate....you put in the quay wall with stairs so people could get down to the shops. But then you put in another wall behind that has no access to the lower quay access!?!?!?
Fantastic build there Biffa, I'm sure in the future CS2 will have a few mods like this so we can create a UK city on the new platform. Loving your content especially the CS1 and of course CS2 builds.
Thankyou ☺️
Looking good …. But ….. I would expect a mini roundabout in front of the Tesco store so that if I only wanted petrol, I could then exit without going all the way around the back of Tesco 😊
I would expect a U-turn area, but then again, made this way is common in the UK?
@@CouchPotator No not in my experience. You would be able to visit that fuel station without having to drive around the rest.
Spot on. I mean, they're a total disaster usually, loads of near misses, but there would almost definitely be a roundabout
You could call a new area Tea Bag End in a homage to Tolkein. I might suggest that someday.
The wave is back!!! I think the space next to it would be perfect for some blocks of flats. Posh ones with gardens.
Outside Tesco when you created the delivery points. You forgot to turn off deliveries and garbage at the front
Oh man, that’s the same Tesco that Blightea on the Wold had! Miss that city a lot, but great to see you back in CS1 and in the UK! Keep up the great work, more of this please! 👌🏻
It's such a southern city , please make a grim north one next
I'm loving The Wavelet here!
With that much concrete, I think you need a retention pond
What a pleasure to have you back!
love the build, but think the access roads behind the shops look a bit too large and out of scale with the rest, especially as one ways!
Go to the workshop and get "brush concrete" by mickapel, comes in differant sizes so easier to make those areas you want biffa
At 43:00, the trees do look good, but they also block visibility of the shop frontages behind... that seems like something that would get vetoed. Either smaller trees, or bigger gaps between them, perhaps?
Maybe do the retail parks as pedestrian only areas and add the multi car park etc for parking. That way all the trucks will use the service hubs
these are some of my favorite videos to vibe out to, biffas voice is so soothing i could listen to him detail all day!
"Our unnamed British City, BritCit!"
BritCit means BritCit
Glad to see some city skylines from you again!
A new British themed city?? Ohhhhhh! 😍😍 I need to find episode 1 of this immediately :D
Think that spot next to tesco would be great for a leisure centre or garden centre. Plus a pedestrian bridge from the residential area to the walkable quay wall for access.
Absolutely love Teaside already. I did have PTSD when you placed my former employers Pets at Home down though 😂
Maybe it's just me, so feel free to tell me I'm being insane, but I don't see the need to flatten everything when you build. The rolling landscape provides character. There's a slight slope to the row houses and I think it looks beautiful. By flattening the land constantly, you end up with strange cliff walls throughout the city.
You have got to love all of the mods and how you can do so much with them in CS1. I can hear the happy Biffa while you are building this. It's like second nature and we all love to see it. Looking spiffy!! 🤩
As a US citizen, I am unfamiliar with Waitrose, but still, "the awful brick version" did get a laugh from me.
Maybe have a garden centre and or homebase next to the big shops. Also maybe have a mini roundabout infront so people getting petrol don't have to go all the way round
I think the entrance/exit to Tesco would be better as a roundabout so people can go on the direction they want. There used to be a Tesco petrol station asset too which would make more sense than BP.
I'm also not sure about the other retail units position. I doubt either they or Tesco would want customers near Tesco's delivery area. I also doubt they'd be happy that all the trees obscure the visibility of their names.
A British citea you're gonna need plopable potholes .
True! 😅
I think the problem was that you used a 6+ U parking road.
You have to put the 2U node really far away or build a second road with a 30-60 degrees corner, otherwise this game wouldn’t do it and say “invalid shape”.
With anarchy mod turned on this would create a mess such as your junction. Just try to extend the driveway along this shops, so that the nodes of the 90 degree turn anre outside the “hitbox” of this 6+ U Parkingroad and the parking road should look normal again.
There’s an actual place in the UK called Teesside and it was built on the river Tees. Main place in the area is Middlesbrough but also has many quaint little towns and villages
here's to hope and CS:2 achieving this same level of amazing gameplay. Thanks Biffa!!
Hugo is back!!! 🎉❤
Finally \o/
Looks great, only thing i can think would be more suitable would be the non food stores to look better against the other side of the carpark and major,
petrol would be better on the exit as stores would prefer to tempt people into store before getting petrol (eg getting your petrol vouchers from food shop) i know Sainsbury's is more like this not sure on Tescos as don't have one near.
Your CS 1 cities are amazing and entertaining gives me so many ideas, unfortunately on console its more imagining 😂
You should add a IKEA on the right side. I think that would look great and fit in
20:58 your petrol station needs a Greggs, it's the law
🫡
I don't understand why some of these funky detailing tools aren't part of the base CSL2 game, it's this level of detail that has kept the original going by the likes of yourself over all the years.
Who knows....!
Anyone else thinking the Aldi, with an access road between two roundabouts, looks slightly familiar?
One of the villages on the river need to be called Bligh-upon-Tea.
Esso have a partnership with Tesco! You won't see any other petrol station outside a Tesco other than Tesco own station!
This is an alternate universe 😁
Hey Biffa....I live in New Jersey in the States....When you said the name Teaside, it made me think of a town that's like an hr or so north of me called Seaside Heights.....When you get moving along in creating different areas, maybe "Teaside Heights" might be a good name for one? :)
Great building, Biffa! 👍
Thanks 😁
Where i stay Biffa there is a shopping area were we have a Tescos and they have a BP petrol staion loads of parking and loads of parking for the other shops and all shopping areas have small trees and bushes around them plus it makes it more attractive for thier shoppers
Love your work Biffa!! You are the very reason why I got into CS during Covid. I lived in London for 5 years and these builds take me back to those times walking around NW :)
I re-installed CS1 (missing the level of detail), but it crashes... :( Where can I find the mods you currently using? I think I subscribed to old ones without realising... Thank you and enjoy every sippa' tea!!!!
The protesters can block the road right in front of the petrol station. That will be funny if you had that kinda props...😊
I’m really enjoying this series Biffa, thank you 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Brrad :-)
Lovely play on words, whether you meant it or not ha! Teaside / Teesside. Haven't noticed any other comments that have picked up on that. Anyway would be really cool if you could make a retail park based on Teesside Park! Or even portrack. Love the content
Loving Teaside, a suggestion for the space between tescos and the other shops is possibly a McDonalds or something similiar as it looks like the perfect spot with tables and seats outside. Also I think the BP shop goes with the seperate BP roof/forcourt then you can decorate it as you wish.
While I love the trees in front of the shops in the back, I doubt the tenants would like them since you wouldn't be able to see their signs from any sort of distance. I think it also needs a second road, maybe along the quay wall to the main central road, otherwise you're cul-de-sac'ed. If you make sure the speed really low, you shouldn't get too much traffic on it.
I'm so happy you're doing Skylines 1, but the British ones are very meh for me, since I live in a place just like this! I have mixed emotions about this series!
Add more tesco's!!!, there is no such thing as too many tesco's
Yeah a Cities Skylines I have missed these.
Biffa, you could use intersection marking tool to extend the median across the intersections in front of Tesco's ☺️
True!
hello, what an lovely build. I got Cities Skylines with all dlc. Would you say, i should stay there or change to Cities 2 ? :)
Lol Tesco is so realistic!
These videos are kinda therapeutic.
😁
So need a Cupside and Spoonside town or village now 😅
I do think the road should run past the front of Tesco.
Biffa is there anyway you can add parts and series to the title? I get so confused trying to come back and binge every month haha btw love your cs1 heavy mods!
I keep everything in a handy playlist for your easy consumption 👍😁
You need trolleys out the front of Tescos and PAH.
2:15 please repair placeing of that warehouse :D
At the 26 minute mark, ploppable asphalt needs to have brush size set to 1.
Ooooooh! 👍
That's more electric car chargers than the whole of West Sussex 😂
Clearly that is the mighty Mississipatea river!😁
Or should be
Football club should be Manchester Siptea or I guess Teaside Siptea FC
Hey Biffa could you name an area after a place near Teesside called Darlington but call it Darlingtee (Darlington built the railway so a train station hub would be ideal) great series as always!
Darjeelington?
Such great detail!
Thank you!
18:49 I wish gas was still $1.51 ;-;
ok, now I need a cup of tea .. back in a mo ...
I've tried about 4 times to download your asset list using skyve but steam just seems to have a panic attack when downloading all those assets and mods and it doesn't load properly.
I can't wait for assets to be available in CS2 and watching your towns flourish
In london you have Islington, could we have something similar and call it Britlington
$1.51 gas at that shell station, oh my!
🎉 Tea party
As someone who lives in Teesside, it's not a great place to name your city after
The parking lot should be next to the building and de street were the parking lot is. It would be more simetric.
love the content Biffa
Thank you, Biffa!
My pleasure!
I want a Scottish town next to a lake and a mountain
That would be Fort William... ;o)
Nice idea :-)
@@tigonologdring9189 that’s what I’m talking about
Do it like a motorway are Highway 17:11 have the little gas station on Lefty righty side😊😊😊
Hay Teeside is where i live, well in middlesbrough but still teeside
